Been waching anime for almost 25 years now, this will always be one of my favorites alongside other classics from that time like cowboy bebop, trigun, and outlaw star.
My favorite anime hands down and the only anime I always recommend in English. This anime is what made me really get into anime alongside Inuyasha but Champloo especially, as well as the anime sent me down my journey with music as I remember this music and hip-hop/freestyle rapping in this anime was so different from anything i'd heard anywhere else back then. I just found it audibly mesmerizing as a kid. The composer Nujabes was a legend and is considered the father of Low-Fi music. He sadly passed away in a motor vehicle accident around 2010 and wasn't able to see the mark he left on music today. If you're into music I would high suggest listening to his Luv(Sic) Hexology album. Beautiful. I'm looking forward to watching this again alongside y'all
I LOVE the banter about the show. This is still my favorite anime after, what, nearly 20 years? The music and the art is incredible. The mash-up of things is fresh. I loved what you had to say and how quickly you picked up how Jin and Mugen complement each other well. Mugen could use a little structure and discpline (but will he ever accept any?) and Jin being surprised at his technique or lack thereof is such a fun dynamic. Excited to watch your continued reactions of this series!
I watched this way back in the 90s/early 2000s, and had the PS2 game. Love the show, love the soundtrack (which, for some reason, I actually don’t own).
I'm so glad I kept pestering you to watch Cowboy Bebop til you took that poll and it won. Some of these older anime are just so damn good. Trigun was on that poll too hint hint wink wink... And like Uzumaki was only 4 episodes FLCL is another cult classic that's only 6 episodes and the English dubs are just fine on both.

Samurai Champloo and One piece are basically parables about the Generational trauma of the Caribbean. My dudes, you've gotta watch it in japanese. It's not that the dub is bad, it's just that it's not as good as the original, and there's a loss of nuances as well. Not having the original Jin and Mugen voices is a big loss as well.
No. Don't do this. This English dub is pretty good. Stop trying to compare which one is better and just let people watch what they want. It's a matter of preference at the end of the day.

I'll usually go for subs if it takes place in Japan and especially if its feudal but with this one, the vibes call for dub all the way.
