What a deal!! $19 for a buffet. Typical combo is now around $13 at different takeouts. Will definitely try this place. I live so close here

Yeah.. basic two item combo is $12-13 for sure. It looks good too. The hard part is I usually eat a lot of rice with the sudan/ulam but I'll have to reverse the roles and hold back on the rice! That will be tough.
Lechon body is gone after 1pm. Understaffed. The teenaged children of the owner are the waiters. Clearly overwhelmed and can’t provide normal service. Foods are average. Service and food has a lot of space for improvements.
I am on the East coast. But upon seeing your video, I want to fly to LA just to try this buffet for a week. Everything looks SO YUMMY.
Yum! All the food looked soooo gooood. :D. Mole is a Mexican-created dish from the regions of Oaxaca and Puebla, not Spanish at all and it's the same color but it is not made with blood it's made with Chocolate and red chile and many more ingredients.

Were we eating at the same restaurant??? I visited the Bistro Filipino this past Saturday at 11:30AM where they also included Lechon for lunch. Service was horrible - absent to be precise the none of the tables were cleaned...food residue left on the tablecloth. After sitting there for one hour, none of the dishes were replenished and the dishes that were available were cold and the proteins were extremely chewy/tough. Honestly, this place is a lame excuse for Pinoy food and I would not even serve this type of poor quality food to my enemies!
Went here with my whole family today for lunch buffet. Extremely disappointed. Stop overhyping this place. We drove 1.5hrs only to be disappointed.
Food variety less than 10.
Food very average.
Charged a kid 8 yr old for full price.

Great, some of these aren't familiar to me. And I would love to try them all. The diniguan is something unforgettable to me, Ube, lechon, adobo and the pork dish with tofu are bomb. Unfortunately, the palabuc is something didn't like it's just too fishy to me.

This place sucks on Monday for sure food seem old and none of the good stuff that this guy showed on the video…not worth it save your money spend it somewhere else…
Pancit no veggies or meat ….all noodles LOL so low quality to be honest!
I drove 45 miles, and all I can say it was a letdown. There were about 10 different dishes prepared that look like it was sitting out for a while. The only dessert they had was a pudding that was made out of mang beans that's it. Wish they had some fruits. I don't know if it was just a weekday cause that place was dead, only three other person was there.

I checked this place on Sunday, Jan 8, 2022 at 3pm and i was disappointed. The food looked old and i didnt see anyone inside except this one young lady who was sweeping the floor. She stopped when she saw me and asked if i needed help. Imo, this is just another overpriced Filipino restaurant so I didnt waste my time and left.
No Max restaurant is the OG Filipino food to go in LA but their luxury and expensive.
Great!!! Thank you Steve for this video. I am not aware that there’s a Filipino Buffet in West Covina. I miss that Cebuchon, Chicken Inasal and Caldereta they are my favorites. The Melon (cantalope) juice is awesome. Hope they will have a calamansi (filipino version of lemon) juice too. 😊🥰😘

Not a lot of selection but great selection! I would definitely go there.
By the way, Filipino culture is about sauces. I see you didn’t really take any. She explained to you how there’s the sauce for Kare kare, at least try pairing it with that. Also the liver sauce for lechon makes a big difference.
As a Filipino I love to eat any “dry” meat with sauce like lechon, that chicken bbq and the tilapia.
Food are nasty and so damn cold …..never again!!!!

Never knew this place existed, I live nearby. Lots of filipino food with the Jollibees and Red Ribbon in the same complex. Disappointed to hear the drinks aren't part of the buffet and 5 bucks is crazy. I want to try it soon for the lechon and meats.
Edit: Just read the yelp reviews. Probably won't bother if their food is cold, they are hiding the roasted pork when their menu is already super limited and their employees pretend they have no clue about your Rockstar Eater 10% discount code.

Went to this place today (DECEMBER 30, 2022) with my parents and mentioned this "UA-cam episode" and "Rockstar Eater" the only discount we got was "we are not familiar with that discount." It was 45 minutes into lunch time and the dishes were not getting refilled.
You should've shown her this episode and have her recalled her "selected" memory. We went to Bamboo Bistro after watching Steve's video and the food selections and the taste were excellent.
@@Truesdale22 There was no her. There were three guys working today, no lechon, no drinks and no desserts. And yes, I showed the episode through my phone and another customer did also.

I've been to that place a couple of years back when I lived across Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park. Their food is delicious. The fact that you can come back as many times you want, it will fill you up 'til you drop. 😄

They also have Filipino street food every friday and Saturday starts @ 5:00pm. Must try this hidden Gem!

Hi Steve. We stopped by Bistro Filipino yesterday for lunch and maybe it’s an off day. It was not good. No chicken inasal and the kare kare was meh. The cebuchon was cold and bland. We were disappointed. We will have to try the other place you featured.

Glad you liked the filipino food over here in the 626! Kare Kare is my absolute favorite. But it's funny because I've tried many filipino restaurants and all their kare kare are okay at best. They all taste different and it's because many restaurants won't pay for the good brand of peanut butter. I suggest if you know any Filipinos who love to cook, have them make homemade kare kare for you. Nothing beats that. It'll blow your mind.
