For highway use and CV longevity i'd recommend the rough Country 2" kit instead. this seems to work ok but i wonder if the CV angle will make them prematurely wear faster. CV angles seems a bit too much at full droop. im likely going to be switching to the Rough Country kit soon just incase,
@@jacobcrow8036 not sure what you mean, it didnt work... you have to put the drivers upper arm on the passenger side, and the passenger arm on the drivers side, both upside down, only if your lift is more than 2"
@@nickm.7239 yeah i paid canadian price so there may be a difference there, and also i think the price dropped since i gave it a bad review, it has many bad reviews so i upgraded to the Rough Country kit up front. i kept this kit in the rear but i used the RC stuff up front, and i installed 2wd silverado shocks in the rear also
lol. i just watched your video got to end and said it going to be 17 degrees.. tonight -tomorrow morn. going be 17 degrees.. i just got new 04 trailblazer only 63,000 miles. smells new clean inside.. wasn't typo 63,000 orig miles..old lady car died sit 2 years she never drove anywhere 36,000 when son got it and sold to me with 63..
Best video I've seen about a trailblazer lift, I was thinking on going 1.5 but since you did 2, think that's going to be my goal. Haven't had any issues with axles stretching angle? One question, which by the way you're the only one I've seen swapping upper control arms, you said the spindle had to be shaved a bit for alignment, may I ask where at the spindle you had to do this? I just ordered couple spindles cause mine were bad I thought maybe I could shave them and save me the pain later. Thank you again for the amazing video and tips sir.
this is a 3" front 2.5" rear level kit. the front spacer is 2" but it makes 3" of lift because its on an inboard part of the control arm geometry. the cv angles on this one are not bad at all with the tires on the ground. when you jack it up and or let the suspension droop thats when the front angles are almost maxxed out. i'd go with the 1.5" if thats what you want. this cheap 3/2.5" kit is ok with a few mods to correct fitment, but i'd rather have the rough country 2" level kit which droops less and requires less fitment mods. this 2" spacer up front makes a solid 3" front lift but it's definately maxxing out my comfort zone for the front geometry when jacked up and flexing / during droop. shave the backside only slightly and evenly if it contacts the spring. spring to knuckle contact only occurrs during max droop , when jacked. but if you had a 1.5" kit you might not need to worry about any of that. first i installed the lift for ground clerance, then i added bigger tires, now i have to jump a bit to get in the pilot seat. this size tire would clear with a smaller lift and the tire itself would still provide ground clearance. in the end i got a bit more ground clearance than i expected and i'd recommend a smaller kit, with front spacer smaller than 2". some guys swear by the spacers that go inside the strut but i prefer the extra flex and droop. maybe not this much up front but i do prefer longer shocks personally.
I have a set of Goodyear ATS 265/70r17 on my 08 tb and i just want to install some 1"5 wheel spacers to make em fit inside it has enough space but the upper control arm is rubbing with very edge of the tire should wait for a lift kit or do the spavers
you MUST use spacers with large tires to avoid the tire hitting the upper joint. this applies to anything larger than a 245/70/17 or around 31" diameter. that is why you're rubbing. you can run a smaller tire or get spacers if youre going to run a bigger tire. supporting mods include proper accomodations for such upgrades you need to consider fitment and gearing before you install them, rather than after. luckily i did my research and i had my supporting mods ready including 1.5" spacers and lift kit. lift kit will not fix your clearance issue because the joint moves relative to the suspension. i recommend 1.5" wheel spacers but they should be installed by a trained or professional individual
I know it's a kind of old video but I enjoyed watching this. I got a 07 Saab that I would like to get another 20k miles out of before I do the conversion kit to loose the air bag suspension in the rear for ole fashion coils. I will replace the shocks and while doing that would like Todo a small lift like you did here. I may have to go with longer shocks like you mentioned. The front had the sway bar links and shocks replaced already so I will probably go ahead and do the ball joints while I'm in there and maybe the tie rods. The cvs look ok but will see in 20k how there still looking. The drive shafts for the front and back are looking a little worse for the wear and am wondering if I will just have a shop do those for me or if it will be something I could do myself as the parts look like it will only run me about 400 bucks. One thing that I don't mind completely but does kind of suck is that full time AWD I have. I bet I would have better gas mileage if I could keep it in rwd when the weather is nicer. I was told I could pull a fuse to make it run in rwd only but I fear that will cause more problems then it's worth but as for this winter I will leave it be. Enjoyed watching the video you really explain things in a way I seem to understand better what the function and change in behavior will be when adding the lift. What are your thoughts on wheel spacer? Was thinking maybe a 1.5inch or possibly 3 inch on each side when I do the lift and then adding a utility bumper that lines up with the width of the tires with the spacers added for a little bit of a wider looking stance.
1.5 wheel spacers are perfect in my opinion. I switched to the 2” rough country lift in a later video . There is a video where a guy converts a trailblazer or an envoy to coils , mine already had basic coils all around
same brought me here. got a 9-7x that i wanna play with and annoy the wife by spending too much on it and too much time in the garage ; ) i pulled out the air bags almost as soon as i got it. those compressors are annoying. good luck on ur modding.
Hey brother was wondering if I could get some advice on my lift ? I have a 2002 trail Blazer ls , and I was given a 2.5 front strut bolt on top kit and a 1.5 rear spacer kit for $20.00 at a yard sale . I bought rough country rear 0-2 shocks and new struts . Hers the question .. how much is that going to affect my geometry ? I'm putting new ball joints uper and lower in and uper control arms should I flip them ?? Thanks loved you video
i removed this ebay front kit and i switched to the rough country kit later, see here ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html but the front was a problem under full droop, or full flex, so i only changed the front to the RC kit, the ebay bolt ontop kit does throw your camber way out so you need to flip the upper arms just to correct the camber, and the knuckle can contact the spring with the bolt ontop ebay spacer. plus the extra droop was causing the CVs and joints to bind at max droop. this could be corrected with limit straps but the RC kit is about the same price, and its all around better up front. the RC kit requires you to diassemble the struts and the kit is a new top plate which compresses the springs more but doesnt allow extra droop. i have a newer video of the RC kit install here. ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html
What year is your truck? The lift kit I bought the instructions mentioned I’d have to drill a 3rd hole for the spacer. I have yet to get back under the truck since replacing the ball joints.
Ya you might have to drill the 3rd hole out . Mine was already drilled out , it was a tight fit but you might have to drill it out 🤷🏽♂️. I ended up switching to a rough country brand kit later
You can get 7.5" of lift with a 3"F & 2"R suspension lift, 3 inch body lift, z71 Yukon (Moog 81069) rear springs on SkyJacker H7060 shocks, with Moog 81114 coils in front on Bilstein 24-103336 shocks.
is the 3" body lift you're talkin about still available? the only one ive heard about is markmc's(liftmeister) that isnt made any more everything else is only 2"
Hope you see this comment. I’m in the middle of putting a supreme suspension lift on. It’s 3 inch front and 1 1/2 inch for rear. I also have Monroe load adjust shocks in rear . Which already gave it a inch lift in rear. Any who.Front spacers are compressed in the inside strut. So i was wondering if the swap control arms would work for this. Hopefully you see this. Thanks in advance.
Did you end up putting on longer rear shocks? Or did you just leave the stocks on. Did your length of travel become hindered by the stock length. I’m wondering for my envoy. Just got one cheap. Might as well lift it with the money i saved.
@@613Builds well thanks for the advice. 😂 it’s been 6 months since some woman pulled a u-turn in front of me. I had ended up lifting it 3” had 31”s on it. I took out the whole front of her Jeep Compass and got paid out by her insurance. I miss it but the gas mileage was killing me.
Excelente el video, justo buscaba este tipo de aumento en las llantas delanteras. como se llama esta pieza que aumenta la altura del eje delantero. gracias
I had something like that from Rusty's Off Road on my Grand Cherokee. With bigger off road tires it looked great and it was great for a rough terrain...
hey man any tips on getting that bottom control arm bolt in. The lower control arm wont droop low enough to get it in there. i got the passenger side like you did but i cannot get the driver side in
I had to put all the top half together first and do the bottom stud last I believe. You might need to force the arm but at that point you are probably binding , that’s why I ended up removing this kit, because the poor geometry 📐. Flipping and swapping the upper arms helps with the camber but the ball joints and axle CVs may bind at full droop
And if I'm trying to lower my rear end of my Buick rainier what I need to get though if you don't mind asking you, I need to get shorter struts or shorter coil springs?
Recently bought an 02 with a 3 inch lift. Dude said it kept breaking the axle disconnect and "chewing" cv shafts? Could this be because he didnt flip the wishbones???? Please god reply because all 3 shafts are out right now and im lost as to why it wouldnt work lol
yes 3" is too much. i switched to the 2" rough country kit later. in my opinion 2" is max for any kind of dependability. the front diff is attached to the oil pan so the CVs have to reach and flex from the oil pan down to the wheels, plus they have to steer also, the CV geometry has it's limits. i noticed the poor geometry when i jacked it up, the CV angle was way too much. the front cvs constantly turn so you want them to be as straight as possible. See the new Rough Country lift level kit install here ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html This cheap kit looks good, but i'd recommend the rough Country 2" kit instead. this 2" spacer made 3+" lift up front, which makes the front axles more angled than i wanted. @@613Builds you know i thought about it some more after commenting and the guy was an ebay man. Truck has an ebay trans to so im assuming it is the 2 inch kit like you had. Not to beat the dead horse but would i at least be able to use my 4x4 you think keeping the setup i have( if in fact its the ebay 2" kit) because my uca definitely arent swapped right now. Thanks for the speedy reply by the way man. Guy sold me the truck for this reason lol i figured its gotta be something easy.
@@Nathanstondez420 the ebay kit is 3" and yeah it's sketchy. the rough country kit is 2" and the strut has to be disassembled to install it into the strut. the ebay kit just bolts ontop of the factory strut like this video. if you watch the newer rough country install video, i need a spring compressor to disassemble the struts and install the new RC kit. just remove the lift kit if its too much and also watch out for cheap autoparts like axles and CVs. i've heard the cheap axles have the cv's wear out quickly. remove the lift kit or change to a less agressive more quality kit, & get some good quality front axles. a bad axle can ruin the disconnect unit from stress and vibrations. there may be a 2wd conversion if you just want to drive it and sick of throwing money at parts.
Thank you for the help, your a good man. Will try to modify for now until i can afford the rc lift for the front. Currently in 2wd allday 😂 shes a nice truck though shame he sold it because he cant fix the 4x4. Be my baby after that.
Hey i just got my ucas swapped yesterday, havent got a chance to put the cvs in yet as i found out my disconnect is in peices 😫 anyhow, with the wheels off and in the air the spindle still hits the springs? I thought this corrected that am i missing something? Geometry does seem better though when its on the ground.
@@613Builds I did the left/right swap of my upper control arms. This is now common knowledge among failblazer owners with a lift. It gives you better orientation and motion of the arms after a lift.
Yes I had done the upper arms swap with this eBay lift, the arm flip does help with 3" kits. When I deleted the eBay kit later on I flipped them back to original , then I added a better rough country kit up front. Better design with less droop and better angles for the CVs and joins
@@613Builds Thanks for responding. It wouldn't be easier to cut one of the three nuts To clarify, it is 1.5 inches for a final result of 2 inches of lifting. At least that's what the manual says 😅😅😅
My instructions said to drill the 3rd hole. Mine already had the 3rd hole but it was very tight. You might have to bore it out with a drill bit or make a 3rd hole. Drilling the 3rd hole would be safer and easier and stronger. I’m glad you got the 2” kit because 3” is too much for the factory suspension geometry and cv droop. That’s why I removed this kit and installed the 2” rough country kit
Thanks 🙏🏽 I later upgraded to the Rough Country lift / level kit , which was much better in my opinion , see it here ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html . We also added a light bar , oversized tires and wheel spacers in other videos
This vehicle plowed with a custom 3 point hitch I made. ua-cam.com/video/BIqcPwpjQXA/v-deo.html It went up and down with an electric winch. I have videos and it worked well. Those agricultural plows are heavy
ouch. thats not good. are you in 4wd? it certinly could be excessive camber if you didn't do the camber correction. 3 inch is too much for these rigs in my humble opinion. i ended up removing this cheap kit and i switched the front suspension lift to the Rough Country 2" kit. ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html other things can cause vibrations also like CV joints, inner and outer tie rods, sticky calipers.
Yeah man I have an 08 trailblazer. I HATE how low it sits. Lifting mine soon. Was thinking of going storm trooper myself but I like my blue. Thinking of buying a kit from eBay as well.
yeah 4wd models should not be lowriders lol. dark blue is one of my favorites. if you use one of these ebay kits, make sure to flip and swap the upper control arms to correct the ball joints.
MrJohn613 thanks man. Is that the key for the eBay items? Not doing anything special with my truck just drive it on the highway in the fall for football games. Really just want it sitting higher.
MrJohn613 I found a Shock absorber on amazon for a $100 that says it improves the feel of the ride and also adds about 1.5 to 2 inches in the back. My question to you is should I even put a lift in the back to pair with the new shocks or just got with a 2.5-3 inch lift in the front and pair that with the absorber in the back for a balanced ride. Just want more height that’s it. Also found some 20 inch rims for cheap. Is that enough clearance?!?
i would reccommend getting an alignment done after any lift kit or any suspension changes. im told that the more expensive lift kits help retain geometry best, but flipping the upper control arms helped alot with balljoint and camber correction
yes i had room for bigger tires after doing the lift, see the new tires and new mods in more recent videos here ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html it now has 265-70-17 Michelin LTX AT2s , 32.5" tires with 13mm tread depth
Hey i installed the same kit but i dint swap the upper contro arm and the tires are not straight also idk if is do to the compresion of the shocks but in run very rough even on small holes do yall know why?
in this video i used a 2" front spacer which makes 3" of lift. i had 235-65-17 in this video but i now have 265-70-17 LTX AT2's . you can lift just the front or just the rear if you like. i recommend the Rough Country 2" kit, as the ebay spacer makes too much droop for my preference when fully jacked or flexed. when fully jacked or flexed the ebay kit allows more droop which causes the CVs to max out when drooped. i've recently installed new upper joints and i've ordered the RC kit and it will be here tomorrow. ive already removed the ebay kit when i replaced the upper joints last week, new videos coming soon! when i get some editing done
@@613Builds awesome. Yeah I'm just going to do the front. Also did you have any rub when you out in the new tires. Did you need spacers or had to cut out any of the fender wells
@@starlord9956 just spacers, which are required to fit any tire larger than 245-70-17. thats the max size without spacers. with spacers and lift i have just minimal plastic rub on rubber, only when wheels are turned about 45 degrees. ive recently deleted the ebay lift so now its stock height up front but i still have the bigger 265-70-17 tires on with spacers. it rubs alot more without the front lift, but only during 45 degree cornering still. the new RC lift will be here tomorrow. i kept the rear half of the ebay kit installed, so right now the ass is perky and the nose is lower like stock lol. but tomorrow the RoughCountry kit should be here and i'll get the front back up more level. the RC kit provides 2" front and 1" rear for leveling but i already have 2.5" spacers out back and longer silverado 2wd shocks so i will keep the rear as is and i will be just leveling the front again with the RC kit which doesnt droop as much. depending on your goal : ground clearance, leveling, towing, certain things like minor ground clearance can be achieved with slightly larger tires and possibly spacers. if you do towing and if you dont the rear up much higher, the RC kit oly lifts the rear 1". not alot but just enough for towing sag prevention. nothing worse than a saggy rear end :P
@@613Builds dude you're helping me out so much I appreciate it! One last question. What size spacers. I have an extended edition so I'm can't use the rear leveling kit to lift the rear that's why I'm keeping it stock in the back and just lifting the front.
so far so good. I actually looked at the CV angles today with the weight on them, and they look nice with the weight on them, fairy straight actually. but when the weight is off or jacked up, the CVs droop about 2.5 inches more than factory, and thats when the CVs are pretty well maxed out. i want to switch to the rough country due to the CV max at droop, but the CVs seem great with the wheels on the ground. how often do the wheels come off the ground while the wheels are turning? only during offroad articulation but i'd feel a bit better with the rough country kit if i were maxing out articulation offroad. maybe i'll jack it up and check the CV angle at max droop again, today it seemed to be far better than i thought it was, as far as angle at ride height.
@@613Builds I'm going for appearance more than anything. The roughest terrain I'll encounter would probably be potholes. I just want to get that front end up, I hate the rake on the trailblazer.
@@ragstowrenches agreed! in that case this lift should be fine for you. the CV angles looked pretty damn good today . i'd seriously recommend flipping and swapping the upper A-arms, and get and alignment. but so far i have not got got an alignment and it drives nice and straight
@@613Builds I bought new upper control arms because I had blown out bushings so I'll definitely reverse tomorrow when I get to work on it. I also got 2" wheel spacers. Hopefully it all looks good.
glad you enjoyed it, thanks for your input. im hoping to get much more fun in the near future and make videos of just enjoying some of these projects soon, more playing with the things we build
i stalled a 3" front and 2" rear lift kit on my 02 trailblazer and switched my control arms but it still seems to bind. when i put in 4 wd my front end starts to shimmy even at low speeds what could be the problem
Yeah I found 3” is too much for these especially with this cheap spacer kit and that’s why I switched to a rough country kit in the newer video link provided in the description and comments. These vehicles have the front diff bolted to the oil pan of the engine and one axle goes through the oil pan so you can’t lift the suspension very much without issues. The rough country kit is 2” front and I kept my old 2” rear spacers because the rear is slightly more forgiving if you don’t overextend your shocks droop , same as the front. You could try an alignment but I don’t recommend the 3” kit especially the cheap top spacer kit. The rough country 2” level kit goes inside the strut assembly so it doesn’t allow excessive droop which is good and it’s 2” which is more forgiving. Most people just want to fit a slightly bigger tire and I can be achieved with or without a lift and with or without wheel spacers but I found the wheel spacers was enough to clear the factory struts with 265 tires
@@andrewmccubbing9986 yeah im pretty sure I put them back to factory with the rough country kit. The 3” kit worked but I could tell when it was jacked up or fully dropped or fully flexed that the CVS and ball joints were binding. Flipping the upper arms helps to correct the camber and the upper ball joint , if need be.
Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it. I guess I will be spending this Saturday undoing and then redoing, lol. Thanks again. Hope this advice gets to other readers before they make the same mistake.
i plowed snow with the the cheap ebay lift kit like that for a year, then i switched to the RoughCountry lift kit at which point i switched the control arms back to stock, due to the better geometry of the RC kit
I’m installing a 3in lift in front and was wondering what am I doing wrong because my axle is hitting my lower strut making it hard to get back on knuckle
2" lift is a 2" block and that is max for these mini vans. make sure your lift is not a 3" block. only a 2" block will fit but a 2" block is a 3" lift. separate the lower strut clam fronm the actual strut. you might have to disconnect the front sway bar, and watch both videos in full. here is part 2 ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html
@@Ruthlessstackz21 you'd have to measure them, if they're 2" tall, that's a "three inch lift" and they will fit. tight but they will fit. if they are 3" tall on your measuring tape, i wouldn't even try . it's a tight fit but i show it all and explain it all
awesome Jim ! that's good to know! i've heard mixed opinions on the cheap kits, mostly from guys who neglected to correct thier upper ball joints. thanks for your input!
@@shaunvalley8371 yes it will be fine with the weight on it, but i did shave my knuckle with a grinder a little, for spring clearance. its only close to spring at full droop, but i shaved the knuckle a bit anyway. i might switch the front half to the rough coutry kit. its only 2" and doesn't droop as much
upper A-arm swap is a must, in my opinion. the reason you swap them is for more room and better clearance / angles. i answered this last night. it clears the spring fine if you shave the knuckle a bit, also when the weight is on the ground, tire on the ground, it clears just fine. it will be very close to the spring when its jacked up. thats why i shaved some of the knuckle. when it on the ground its fine. i might switch the front half from the 2-3" ebay spacers to the 2" rough country kit later on, for better clearance and less droop. the excess droop allows the control arms to angle closer to the spring. this can be remedied with limit straps, knuckle shaving, setting it on the ground, jacking the lower control arm, or just using a different kit that doesn't droop sag as much when jacked up
I believe so. I’m not 100% sure but I believe so. The spring perch should be the same unless you have air ride . If I could guess I’d say this kit might be best on a long wheel base model, but ultimately I switched the front half of the kit to the rough country kit
i got the 17" steel wheels on Kijiji / Craigslist for cheap, and they came with the pressure sensor monitors and decent tires, but later i upgraded to these larger 32" LTX AT2's
Dang nice work! How does it drive now with lift and old shocks? I got an envoy with 200k miles , it's time for new shocks and suspension, was thinking of this level kit.
yeah this one needed shocks also, so i recently installed silverado shocks in a later video. theyre 1" longer. i would not recommend this kit for a daily driver. i expected a 2" lift to be safe on the CVs and ball joints, but the 2" front spacer actually makes 3+" of lift up front and im a little concerned about the longevity of the front CVs. there is a Rough Country kit i'm considering changing to. its also affordable but you have to take the front strut apart with a spring compressor, no big deal but i think the 2" rough country kit will be a better option. this cheap ebay kit is working and it looks good, but for highway use and CV longevity i'd go with the Rough Country 2" kit, as i am also considering. it would only be about 1" lower but easier on the front CVs and joints
@@613Builds awesome thank you for your input. I was looking at the rc leveling kit as well when I do my suspension. With the blown shocks and struts my truck is wobbly, so I imagine a lift kit would only make that worse. But do hate the way the front sags on the front.
@@Emilthehun yes that was my issue. it was far too low to the ground. im up high now but im considering switching the front kit to the RC kit, for ease of mind and CV longevity. i might keep the 2.5" spacer in the rear for ground clearance and towing/load leveling.
@@Emilthehun i havent encountered any problems yet, im my newest video i drive it o the highway with hands and the wheel is straight as an arrow, but im just converned about the front axles lifespan with 3" lift, i was expecting 2". so far no issues but i'm concerned about max droop and CV angles so i'll likely switch to the RC kit soon.

nice, thanks. this one is 08 also. i'd love to get some envoy interior parts someday perhaps. many envoys had leather and wood grain inside but the trailblazer is much more "plastic" inside. my steel wheels and studded tires came from an envoy off kijiji / craigslist .
Well mine is a SLE which is the base model with cloth seats but the interior is all black and “carbon fiber” trim so it still looks decent . Yeah I know what you mean my blazer unlike the envoy has a dirty looking interior too. And yeah man if you can find the computer that’d be awesome I have paypal and don’t mind giving you some money for your time too
in the front i was fighting the cv axles limited range binding and also sway bar binding. in the rear it stops drooping when the upper trailing arms get crushed by the sway bar mounts.
swapping the control arms corrects the ball join angle and makes it more driveable. im not sure yet if it will be strictly off road or something more. you will require an alignment after ANY suspension modification or any lift kit install yes
@@613Builds yes I'm aware suspension work requires alignment afterward. I was wondering if you've aligned it yet, specifically what the techs said about it and if you needed a camber kit or extended rods or anything of the like.

i find every type of car has its own quirks. these vehicles seem to be known for power steering leaks but i dot think thats anything major, nor anything which can't be upgraded. other than that they are good vehicles when properly maintained. maintenance costs are equal to most trucks, as far as i know. maintenance and fuel consumption is on par with a truck, higher than an economy car, so that might scare people away perhaps...

This cheap kit looks good, but i'd recommend the rough Country 2" kit instead. this 2" spacer made 3+" lift up front, which makes the front axles more angled than i wanted. For highway use and CV longevity i'd recommend the rough Country 2" kit instead.
this seems to work ok but i wonder if the CV angle will make them prematurely wear faster. CV angles seems a bit too much at full droop. im likely going to be switching to the Rough Country kit soon just incase,
I put the 2" leveling lift by rough country on mine and like it a lot..
Has there been any problem, since putting on the spacer, have you notice anything out of ordinary. Dose car travel well when go on highway or street?
I have zero issues with mine. tracks straight and everything

Thanks! in my opinion, it's a must, for geometry upper joint correction and clearance

That’s beautiful weather we don’t see it like that where I’m from
Can you tell my what extra parts you change ? Or just 4 spacers ? Ok

Did you end up putting on longer rear shocks? Or did you just leave the stocks on. Did your length of travel become hindered by the stock length. I’m wondering for my envoy. Just got one cheap. Might as well lift it with the money i saved.
I used a Silverado rear shock. It’s about 1” longer I think. After that your trailing arms will hit your anti sway links

Nice. yes I think it needs larger tires, now especially.
hey man any tips on getting that bottom control arm bolt in.
Maybe some TBSS coil springs 🤷🏽♂️
For highway use and CV longevity i'd recommend the rough Country 2" kit instead.
this seems to work ok but i wonder if the CV angle will make them prematurely wear faster.

Hello, I just bought the same lifting kit, but 2". My question is, the top has three screws and the chassis only two. How does it fit?
There are 3 holes . The 3rd hole might need to be drilled. If the inboard spacer is 2” it will provide 3” outboard at the hub
@@613Builds Thanks for responding. It wouldn't be easier to cut one of the three nuts
To clarify, it is 1.5 inches for a final result of 2 inches of lifting. At least that's what the manual says

@@avonbarksdale91 i'm pretty sure the upper control arms have to be flipped and swapped with any lift thats 2" or more on the trailblazer and envoy.
Those damn lines in the sky.
How bad did this effect the front wheel alignment? Looking to do something similar to my 07 TrailBlazer
i would reccommend getting an alignment done after any lift kit or any suspension changes. im told that the more expensive lift kits help retain geometry best, but flipping the upper control arms helped alot with balljoint and camber correction
Now all u need is some bigger tires 😁
yes i had room for bigger tires after doing the lift, see the new tires and new mods in more recent videos here ua-cam.com/video/PfF_Dv5vcEI/v-deo.html it now has 265-70-17 Michelin LTX AT2s , 32.5" tires with 13mm tread depth
Hey i installed the same kit but i dint swap the upper contro arm and the tires are not straight also idk if is do to the compresion of the shocks but in run very rough even on small holes do yall know why?
Might need to flip and switch the upper arms for camber and upper ball joint corrections. Or switch to the Rough Country kit like I did later
Can I just use the 2 inch lift on my extended or do I have to lift the back too. Also what size tires are you using
in this video i used a 2" front spacer which makes 3" of lift. i had 235-65-17 in this video but i now have 265-70-17 LTX AT2's . you can lift just the front or just the rear if you like. i recommend the Rough Country 2" kit, as the ebay spacer makes too much droop for my preference when fully jacked or flexed. when fully jacked or flexed the ebay kit allows more droop which causes the CVs to max out when drooped. i've recently installed new upper joints and i've ordered the RC kit and it will be here tomorrow. ive already removed the ebay kit when i replaced the upper joints last week, new videos coming soon! when i get some editing done
Did you have any cv joint issues or did you swap out the kit for the rough country? I bought a kit like this one and have hesitant to install it.
so far so good.

You flip the driver side upside down and put it on the passenger side. The passenger side gets flipped and moved to the driver's side.
Fun to watch, John.
glad you enjoyed it, thanks for your input. im hoping to get much more fun in the near future and make videos of just enjoying some of these projects soon, more playing with the things we build
i stalled a 3" front and 2" rear lift kit on my 02 trailblazer and switched my control arms but it still seems to bind. when i put in 4 wd my front end starts to shimmy even at low speeds what could be the problem
So if I go with a 2” front spacer should I put the control arms back to the correct places??
@@andrewmccubbing9986 yeah im pretty sure I put them back to factory with the rough country kit. The 3” kit worked but I could tell when it was jacked up or fully dropped or fully flexed that the CVS and ball joints were binding. Flipping the upper arms helps to correct the camber and the upper ball joint , if need be.
Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it. I guess I will be spending this Saturday undoing and then redoing, lol. Thanks again. Hope this advice gets to other readers before they make the same mistake.

more junk for the junk pile! lol jk thanks :D

@@shaunvalley8371 yes it will be fine with the weight on it, but i did shave my knuckle with a grinder a little, for spring clearance. its only close to spring at full droop, but i shaved the knuckle a bit anyway. i might switch the front half to the rough coutry kit. its only 2" and doesn't droop as much
Mines stuck into the springs do you suppose putting the left back on the left will help it
upper A-arm swap is a must, in my opinion. the reason you swap them is for more room and better clearance / angles. i answered this last night. it clears the spring fine if you shave the knuckle a bit, also when the weight is on the ground, tire on the ground, it clears just fine. it will be very close to the spring when its jacked up. thats why i shaved some of the knuckle. when it on the ground its fine. i might switch the front half from the 2-3" ebay spacers to the 2" rough country kit later on, for better clearance and less droop. the excess droop allows the control arms to angle closer to the spring. this can be remedied with limit straps, knuckle shaving, setting it on the ground, jacking the lower control arm, or just using a different kit that doesn't droop sag as much when jacked up
Will the rear kit work on an extended
I believe so. I’m not 100% sure but I believe so. The spring perch should be the same unless you have air ride . If I could guess I’d say this kit might be best on a long wheel base model, but ultimately I switched the front half of the kit to the rough country kit
Good video.
thanks !
Where did you get your wheels? Are the 16 or 17 inch?
i got the 17" steel wheels on Kijiji / Craigslist for cheap, and they came with the pressure sensor monitors and decent tires, but later i upgraded to these larger 32" LTX AT2's
Nice job bud
Thanks 🛠
very cool
@@613Builds awesome thank you! Yea cv isn't cheap , and neither is bearing . I turned 200k with original engine and trans , so if I do this I want it to last another 200k . Not 10k miles lmao!
Do you have a link to that lift kit?
yes sir. here's a link for ya. :) i recommend the Rough Country 2" kit instead but here's the ebay kit

Hey man nice blazer . I gotta 2009 envoy I bought from a gov auction that was mostly stripped then bought a 08 blazer that was wrecked and transferred everything including the engine .. so I’m pretty familiar with them now lol . Feel free to pm me
nice, thanks. this one is 08 also. i'd love to get some envoy interior parts someday perhaps. many envoys had leather and wood grain inside but the trailblazer is much more "plastic" inside. my steel wheels and studded tires came from an envoy off kijiji / craigslist .
Well mine is a SLE which is the base model with cloth seats but the interior is all black and “carbon fiber” trim so it still looks decent . I have a 2006 trailblazer too but it needs a pcm and I can’t find one on my island( i live in the Virgin Islands) so it’s just sitting for now until I can get someone to send me one
i might be able to get one. i think i know a guy with one for parts. my 08 project here has boring dirty grey cloth interior and dark plastic trim. i wish it had carbon fiber. i remember the 04 impala ss had carbon fiber inlays in the interior. this trailblazer is the LS 4.2 4wd model
Yeah I know what you mean my blazer unlike the envoy has a dirty looking interior too. And yeah man if you can find the computer that’d be awesome I have paypal and don’t mind giving you some money for your time too
If you loosen your a arms you would have a lot more ease on getting them to drop. You are fighting the rubber bushings
in the front i was fighting the cv axles limited range binding and also sway bar binding. in the rear it stops drooping when the upper trailing arms get crushed by the sway bar mounts.
🔥😎👍🏽
v8?
Mc da shiznit nope this one was a 4200 inline 6 cylinder. 🤷🏽♂️
Bet caster and camber affect the driveability all for cheap lift..lol
Is it road worthy with the control arms swapped or is this meant as a farm/plow truck? Also have you had it aligned since?
swapping the control arms corrects the ball join angle and makes it more driveable. im not sure yet if it will be strictly off road or something more. you will require an alignment after ANY suspension modification or any lift kit install yes
@@613Builds yes I'm aware suspension work requires alignment afterward. I was wondering if you've aligned it yet, specifically what the techs said about it and if you needed a camber kit or extended rods or anything of the like.
@@turdburglar2587 it might be going in for a certification soon, flipping the upper control arms seems to help the camber and ball joint angles. the sway bar link rods seem to reach ok, i have new ones to install yet
@@turdburglar2587 i have not had it aligned yet, but on a recent test drive, it went straight down the road with no hands on the wheel, and the wheel was straight also. i will get the alignment checked when i can to be sure, as not to prematurely wear the "new" tires
Are these Trailblazers problematic? I see them going for cheap but hear stories of problems with them
i find every type of car has its own quirks. these vehicles seem to be known for power steering leaks but i dot think thats anything major, nor anything which can't be upgraded. other than that they are good vehicles when properly maintained. maintenance costs are equal to most trucks, as far as i know. maintenance and fuel consumption is on par with a truck, higher than an economy car, so that might scare people away perhaps...
@@613Builds Thanks man yeah there is a pristine 2007 LT all black /black leather interior 2 owner Trailblazer for sale where I live it has 163,000 miles on it
@@akclan33 check the color of the oil and transmission fluid, see if its burnt. check the 4wd if it is equipped. check for dash lights, etc
@@613Builds thanks ill check that out they want $4995 for it .Yes its 4wd also. Is that high mileage for that rig or normal for 12 years?
seems normal for an average vehicle of that age. i'm canadain so everything here goes into kilometers. 60,000 miles is 100,000 kms. 163xxx miles is equal to 262xxx kms. here in canada 250-300 kms is considered the beginning of high mileage. not many 4L60E transmissions, domestic engines, axles and bearings will last over 350xxx kms. i'd consider 262ooo kms the beginning of higher mileage onset around here. common problems include transmissions, power steering lines, cooler lines, and clutch fans, depending on weather its 4.2L or a 5.3L as they came with different engine options
Great video/thank you/very helpful info /especially switching passenger side arm with driver side arm/protect them there ball joints Jesus wins /Satan looses thanks
