    I’ve had both. The 8086K is indeed not much faster under load, but it is noticeably snappier in light use (ie. browsing, emailing, word processing). Thought this was worth noting!

      @@smiped1569 no problem 🙂 The boost for one core is 300MHz higher than the 8700K, which I think is what makes the difference. When you start a simple app, like mail or Word, it starts out with one core, then adds one or more cores. In this first instance, the 8086K hits 5GHz and then lowers the clocks when adding cores, at which point it behaves identical to the 8700K, but then it's almost done already. It's this initial response that gives the 8086K a smidge more snapiness.

    Hey man there is a direct die cooling tool for the 9700k/9900k which is made by der8uar, as the pcbs on the 9th Gen chips are taller, it is possible to cooler them directly with out the ihs, I would request u to cover it if possible.

    • @JarrodsTech
      @JarrodsTech  6 років тому

      Not something I can do with the 8086K in this instance as it was a borrowed review unit and sent back, could be interesting for other chips but at the same time not sure if I want to modify my own stuff, most people run them at stock so might be good to have them at stock for future comparisons.

    • @bloomfield295
      @bloomfield295 6 років тому

      @@JarrodsTech ok that's a fair enough argument, but the 9900k and the 9700k could be used direct die and that is the best case for cooling the Intel CPUs, was actually curious to know how low can one get in terms of temperatures when using a 9th Gen chips direct die. Anyway it seems it's not your cup of tea, good luck with the upcoming videos.

    • @JarrodsTech

      It differs by region, here in Australia it's "caysh", because, well, there's no money in the CPU so why would it be cash 😅 forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1670154 literally at the top university in Australia in my computer science courses they told us to pronounce it how I do, so not sure what you want me to do here. DIABLØ - a 4790k will still average over 60fps on ultra in AC Odyssey and that’s one of the most CPU heavy games out right now ✌️ that’s not a bad deal especially if it comes with a cooler, case and PSU or if you already have them.

      I mean you can do it with 8700k only. As we can see from the tests, 5 vs 5.1 is none of a difference. HCC i9 CPU's tend to reach their OC peak around 4.5/4.6 also, so I want to know if there's much of a difference in gaming scenarios.

It also has an SD slot which the other thin gaming laptops are missing (MSI GS65/Razer Blade) and an ethernet port (Razer Blade does not have one).
