I love the way Meyers, and the whole show, brought the whole "let's put on a show!" vibe from the home shows: the casual clothes, more awareness and presence of the crew, showing bloopers, etc. The late-night shows usually look like the people making them are having a blast, but Seth has kicked that up a notch.
Mickey Rooney once said, "Democrats show you life is unfair and Republican's work to keep it that way."

We didn’t spend any dollars because we use pounds and it wasn’t all paid by the taxpayers The Jubilee Pageant on Sunday - estimated to have cost £15million - was funded separately by The Platinum Jubilee Pageant Ltd which has been “independently fundraising to deliver the pageant at no cost to the taxpayer”.
A further £22million was contributed by the National Lottery to support activities to bring people together” over the Jubilee and the money will also be used for additional events throughout the year. The Jubilee weekend is expected to boost economy and bring in millions. Re the ones on the balcony paid by taxpayers, they pay tax themselves, huge amounts and that means they actually pay for themselves and they work for the money that they get from the UK taxpayers .I know the royals are the go to people when you want to have something to criticise the UK on . Which is worse, if you just take the events of the last 2 weeks in the usa I would say America , but then I am biased I guess.

What is extra bad about Fox's comments on gas prices is that Dems DID try to pass a bill to halt price gouging of gasoline - you can guess how many Republicans were in favor.
And Fox didn't say squat about the bill to lower gas prices.
They makes sure to fix nothing so they can blame everything on democrats and their uneducated voters buy into it full stop.
Where are the commercials on this..where are we hearing that Biden asked the oil cos. to drill more and they refused..! @@markoconnor7163 "Gas" is just short for gasoline, or what you call "petrol". NOBODY in the US thinks it's a "gas". Unfortunately, we all have to pump it ourselves (unlike the good old days when an employee came out & filled the tank for you, PLUS washed your windshield, windows, mirrors & headlights), so we are totally aware that gas is a liquid that only splatters on you when you're all dressed up, wearing your most expensive perfume and headed somewhere important, like a wedding.
Much higher for you folk than for us... even in rural areas where the costs they whine about have been what we deal with for YEARS.

So disgusted I now live in PA. Between Mastriano and Oz, good grief. My husband and I went to vote in the primary and the election officials yell out “ I need #36 Democratic ballot here”, followed by “we need # 347 Republican ballot” ( way outnumbered here in trump turd town🤮). Yeah, I've really been enjoying watching Seth the past few years. Like I'll be honest, Colbert is still my favourite late night host, as well as John Oliver if you count him as a "late night" host, but Seth is a VERY close second. I also really appreciate that, even if they cover similar topics and have somewhat similar jokes at times, there's always a unique approach to it. And yeah, Seth's casual appearance and willingness to focus more on the TV/internet audience rather than pander to the live audience really makes his show something special and I adore it.

If people are more concerned with high gas prices, over the lives of children being slaughtered in schools, how can we ever get through to them? I’m in my 60s and I don’t even have children, but I do know how to prioritize. I’m going to choose the lives of children over worrying about gas prices. It’s a no-brainer. My correction: No government body has the ability to do anything about the oil pricing as it was deregulated back in 1981, and was seen as a horrible idea at the time. As such, the government cannot do anything about it other than do what they have done in the past, give the oil companies huge tax cuts to “incentivize” those companies to lower the price. Meaning the tax payer would have to pay the same amount regardless, just not at the pump.

I do wish the GOP American electorate would wise up though, and not be so insular, so as to realize this is a global post pandenic/Russian war on Ukraine that is effecting poverty stricken countries so much more than us lucky folks in North America. In Canada, gas is 7 bucks a gallon. But if I have to grin and bear it for the sake of sanctions, I'm better off than being a refugee in a war zone.
That deregulation allows American oil companies drilling on Federal land leases to export millions of barrels each day overseas ensuring they get global pricing for their domestic sales.
Huh? So if the U.S. Department of Energy were to release even more oil every day from its strategic reserves than it already is, thereby effectively increasing supply, then it wouldn't impact price? Not sure I follow your "correction." Price is a function of supply and demand. Now, is it Biden's fault gas prices are high? Of course not. But saying governments don't have the ability to impact pricing is incorrect.

What bugs me the most is that we've warned republicans for decades we needed to become energy independent through green technology, we warned Lassiez Faire capitalism is deadly to the middle class, and that the climate is changing but all of it is a distraction from their own denial of problems. Therfore the timing of the hearings going public is just right and a huge accomplishment in such short time - remember, this is an enormous legal case with hundreds and thousands of persons involved. And the big fish have a lot of experience avoiding legal consequences. Let's hope for the best!
