What up, Fam?!? Today, we try our hand at some leather burning! The art created by burning wood, leather, or anything else is called pyrography. It turns out the basics of it are easy to grasp and the hobby easy to get into! Definitely give this one a shot!

My favorite aspectof this is that this seems arthritis-friendly.
I am taking a leather working class soon and I a not sure how well I can handle it, but knowing there is a method of designing leather with a gentle hand gives me hope and inspiration!
Great idea! My wife enjoys pyrography but sometimes wood is difficult because of the grain. I will show her this and maybe a new hobby will arise!
Let me know if she likes it if she gives it a try!
Amazing ❤
Yeeees. The burning pleases me. 🔥
No wonder you hang around me. Something is BOUND to burn.
@@SkillTree One of the main draws of your company. Bonus points when I get to laugh at you after you accidentally set something on fire. 😘
Alright!!!👍👍👍👍
So cool! I definitely need to try this now!
Can't wait to see how it comes out
Best video I've found on the topic - thanks!
You should use this on your next D&D themed leather book.would be awesome.
Oooh, good call! Less time consuming than carving, too😁
This would be a cool way to add a design to a bag or something. Turned out awesome
Thanks, wolf! You know what I would love to try for that? Tattooing leather.
@@SkillTree Do it. That would look super cool
Great. I have a wood burning kit sand wondered about using it on leather. Thank you. I came across your page right when I was thinking about it!
It was fate!😁 Glad I could help!
1 great new skill level and 1 great tip! Great vid!
How do you not have more subs
UA-cam is a fickle mistress. Who knows? Lol
Holy shit Clever!!! I have a woodburner with temperature control that has a "leather" setting. I was literally coming on to find a video about how to do this!!!
I know... I have been watching you for some time now... waiting for the day you would find that setting to start you down this dark path. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
Awesome work. Talk about a steady hand, id have to try this after a few cups of coffe! Haha
Good vid. Who was the steampunk pattern designer again ? Senpai Fish or something ? I don't seem to be able to find on the Interweb ...
3:03 - Didn't know you own a gun 💪
I don't know who you are but Simon Whistler did an interview on ThoughtLeaders and mentioned you have a great channel. You have my sub and I ring-a-ding dinged the bell.
Thank you so much! Do you have a link you could share for that interview? Simon is amazing.

@@whatbuttondoipush thanks!
So this leaves a groove?
Do you have dragonfly or turtle?
It's a good technique...how was the smell? XD
Not too bad. To be honest, it was one of those smells that is bad at first but you quickly grow accustomed to lol
@@SkillTree This was a good example of transferring art ...
Just while I'm at it for anyone that's interested ...
I created a tabletop drawing board using a piece of ply 2' long & 1.5' wide (60cm x 45cm x 1cm) with a piece of 2 or 3"x1"x 2'4" (5 or 7.5cm x 2.5cm x 71cm) long pine on it's edge screwed on the back so the board sits high at the back & leave 2" (5cm) at either end sticking out the sides to clamp on a battery operated baby's "stroller fan" with a clamp & face it away from your work akin to an exhaust fan ... it's not aggressive where it draws the heat out of the pen tip ... works a treat keeping the smoke out of your face & is really cheap ... Cheers
LOLLLL!! Pencil rubbings on the back. Why not use carbon paper?
Had none. This worked
Carve a wooden mug - Kuksa 😉
Could you still dye it?
You sure can. Just make sure you do before you add the wax.
I do this with a laser, lol.
I see you have more injuries from the last video...
I am in a perpetual state of blood loss 😅
