Yeah I think he is still a high tier but he's clearly not as impactful as he was before
I actually think Ryu is in a really good spot right now, he can definitely win tournaments with the right pilot.
And if u dont run into too many bad mus
He's definitivly not in the worst spot and i still think he's high tier but to win a major you're gonna have to beat at least a sonic, a steve or a G&W basically character that don't have to approach and that beat your projectiles

I feel that comment about Terry vs Ryu. Terry just feels like Ryu but more fun, with the DLC privilege of a comeback mechanic, along with some stylish kill moves. Hell, he even has a braindead roundstart option in jab 1 -> 2 -> power dunk for like 25-30% if you have no brain and no execution. Ryu has plenty of sauce but lacks a lot of the flashy style Terry has. Hell even Ken has cannibalised a lot of what made Ryu unique, and more or less adopted his Smash 4 style combos giving Ryu the "make him heavy and grounded" treatment.
Yeah terry is clearly the fgc representant that he's the most confortable in the air but i don't think that being grounded is a bad thing it's more the make him heavy the problem. I feel like they should have either boost his speed or make his projectiles stronger

I still play him but i secondary brawler and he beats alot of the cast. Or goes even.
I use the other miis too. For the other not good matchups
Sonic isnt that bad for my mains tbh. Just dont lose the stock lead...

Yeah heavys like that can be fun especially charizard who is pretty fast for his weight it's just that when he struggles he struggles hard and since he has more loosing matchups I just used him less
