Carnivore since beginning of Feb, feel very strong, cardio increased greatly, no inflammation. Occasional meal with carbs reminds me to stay focused. Down 12lbs without bloat and down a waist size. High fives all around. Keep up the great podcasts guys.

Brian I’ve listed ed to literally hundreds of your podcasts over the years and I have to say there is an audible difference in your podcasts now that you’re doing carnivore. There’s no more searching for words or pausing to gather your thoughts. I know everyone talks about carnivore getting rid of brain fog but man you can literally hear the difference with you. It’s making me really want to give it a shot. Thanks for the great information and thanks for always inspiring us to put in the work.

Carnivore going on 8 years now! I'm originally from Alaska, and am now 65! As a T1 Diabetic my entire life, my Ha1c is 4.9. Inflammation gone, eyes improved, inflammation in the gums from bleeding, gone. I still work full time in the medical field. Loads of energy, and lowered insulin dramatically! Increadable diet, and am 5'5, and weigh in at 123 pounds. Eat your meat, and fat! It's life changing! Thanks for your videos! New subscriber here- 🦅🪶😎🎻🇺🇸🥩

Did strict 100% carnivore (with 70% of calories coming from fat) for a year and realized that my anaerobic capacity in BJJ and Muay Thai was suffering. So I reintroduced white rice, based on tolerance (i.e., what happened with my guts/sleep quality/etc.). So, I'm still "meat based" and inflammation is down, which is saying something doing BJJ and Muay Thai at 45 years old. I think the best that someone can do is self experimentation to see what works and how one feels best.

Hey Sean! I experienced the same when I was on a keto diet for 100 days and doing intense crossfit at the same time. I might add white rice back into my diet post exercise if I increase my high-intensity exercise levels. For now, it seems I don’t need any carbs for hiking, backpacking, climbing, etc. I’ve brought some carbs with me on my hunts but I haven’t yet needed them. Thanks for sharing your experience. 👍🏼

@@GrittyGearAndPodcast you should NOT need to add back any carb, especially white rice. Just eat more fat. The vast majority of people who fail, are not eating enough and not enough fat. White rice shuts down the entire ketosis process so if some adds that back the loose most all benefits of being in ketosis.

Went to a ~90% animal based diet this year and it completely rid me of eczema that I have dealt with most my life. I’ve always been fit and followed a “healthy” diet, basically no processed food and only whole food, but once I went animal based and have gone minimal fruits and veggies, skin cleared up immediately. Just this alone will make me never go back to anything else besides a heavy animal based diet.

So I’ve only got about a week and a half of meat eggs and cheese. I had one cheat meal which was a pizza and a soda but just stopping the carbs has gotten rid of my rashes almost completely this quick. It’s the gluten I believe in the bread and stuff in my opinion. I’ve suffered eczema as a kid and then it went away through my 20’s and then came back in my 30’s. I think it’s the wheat

Chomps jerky is a great option. Costco has the best buy, but making your own is a much cheaper route.

Great episode… UA-cam randomly put it in my feed… been hoping to get my brother (s) interested in carnivore… they need it… but same as so many… skeptical …. My brother used to hunt n do all kind of stuff but knee replacement n hip replacement n other pain stuff… bad news… he’s gained a ton of weight n has not found the motivation to do anything different … now retired with a huge garage he built n could be doing all kinds of projects n anything he wants to do really n he just sits around with his tablet n watches reality tv n sports… it’s heart breaking… glad you all are putting this out there…. It’s gonna impact people I think…. I may share this episode eventually…. I’m doing carnivore myself n seeing benefits… it’s been slower as I’ve been breaking a sugar thing… but I’ll make it!!

    • @GrittyGearAndPodcast

We eat jerky like Chomps, but making your own is much more cost effective. Some hard cheese, bacon, butter melted in a flat pan with cooked bacon pieces added in and then frozen is a great treat. Pork rinds are a great snack, but make sure they are cooked in tallow and not seed oils.

I jumped on board 01012024. Was not 100% until 01152024. So far so good. Same as you discussed. I love fatty beef so much, I don't crave carbs or sugar. Low fat wild game does not satisfy, required to add anything fat. Everyone that comes over to the house is offered a jar of beef grease, everyone has turned it down LOL. They look at me like I'm nutz. Since January I have found one person that understands carnivore and he was in great shape. I'm done bringing up the diet, the sheep don't need to feel how great I feel. Yes, I follow the the doctors on youtube. Please show us your meat meals on your hunts.

Just wondering what bone broth you found that doesn’t have sugar and carbs? Thanks

  • @ohkahay

I attempted a vegetarian based diet a few years back and during that time I developed gout and stomach issues. It took a long time to get back to where my body wasn’t always in pain.
Wheat and sugar are definitely the things slowing me down still for the same reasons y’all are discussing here
And though my freezer is filled far better than most with meat so I’ve gotten stoked over this carnivore diet that I’m trying to folllow suit in
But here’s my issue and it’s not with the diet but the amount of meat needed to sustain it. when It comes to filling tags I do okay, even so between hunting and trades with local ranchers still I need to do better, my kids can eat a deer out from under me before I finish turning it to jerky or smoking it. And not trying to include them in the diet just knowing how hard it is to maintain meat for the whole year
I hunt like you guys do just hardcore and by most takes a little crazy which makes it hard to find a team to hunt with to insure better success and longer safer hunts
So here’s my drawn out question
How did you guys become a team? And what recommendations would you have for someone trying to find their own. Especially with how protective and paranoid everyone is with sharing anything about hunting.

    • @GrittyGearAndPodcast
      @GrittyGearAndPodcast  7 днів тому

We are blessed to have the team we have. We all hunted and had the same interests before we met each other. This made the friendships easy. We all have that never quit mentality and are just as excited to see our buddy succeed over our own success. We shame each other, but also raise each other up. It is hard to come by these days. As far as the diet goes, even though we have a ton of big game, we do still supplement quite a bit of beef in because of the fat content. We still like our elk and deer backstraps, but we add quite a bit of butter and even bacon at times so we can keep that fat content up. All the other big game meat gets ground up with around 20-25% fat. We will make brats, burger, sausage etc.

It is always good to cut out as much as possible. It is best when you can stop all forms of caffeine for a period of time. Making sure you are getting enough fats will help increase your energy levels as well.

Did you get a chance to check out Ben Bikman's videos?? Your liver will produce the glucose your body requires. Ketones are a more efficient energy source and as you continue to adapt things just get better. I have had no down sides in the 3 years coming up on 4 years carnivore. Keeping that insulin down is like FM!!! Bravo Zulu guys! Oh and Brian, Bella shows on one of her videos how to make carnivore ice cream!!!😊

I’ve had severe drops in blood sugar and other blood levels for the past few years due too training and cutting weight for kickboxing ( I think ) as long as not having great habits (drinking/smoking). I have tried many diets and still can’t find anything that makes me feel good as well as prevent my blood sugar from dropping. I honestly think a carnivore diet could be my cure based on some of this information. Anything you guys might recommend?

Doctoring and moving to different pastures. What would you recommend for a. Ohh crap situation. Maybe something he can message and say all is good. I'm going to ride with him for a week, in the month of July . I built him an ammo belt, with a fero rod and emergency blanket pouch. Of course a holster and ammo loops. Hey there. A trifold solar panel and a battery pack such as the Dark Energy Poseidon to keep things charged up is a good idea. A Garmin inReach paired to his phone will allow him to text and hit the SOS if he gets in a bad situation. There are other options such as Zoleo or Spot, but I think Garmin is the most reliable.
