- The Knipex BiX is a super handy tight quarters tool for cutting plastic piping and other softer type tubing materials. Ive been very impressed with it on the Jobsite so far! I can definitely see it having a permanent place in my bags!

Check out the new Knipex TwinGrip Pliers here! ua-cam.com/video/dSPTEk64GoY/v-deo.html one of the new innovative tools Knipex released this past year! Truly a handy pair to have
If you watched the original Knipex intro videos, you would also realise that the blade position can be changed if you need to get a flush cut of a pipe against the wall. Spare blades are also stored in a small compartment in the tool itself. A really neat design!
Great product and review! One thing that I really liked is the fact they adjust very fast to the size of pvc you wanna cut, also they fit in the hands like a glove. 👏👏👏
So comfortable to use! I can’t believe I didn’t find out about them until recently 😅
@@MillisConstruction 😅 when I received it for review my first thought was they were just a simple plastic tool without too much usage kkk. Now it stays with me all the time because of their compact size. ☺️🤝
Will this cut abs pipe?
I have this tool and is very practical for electricians. The blade holder is also reversible, for cutting very close to the surface. And inside of the tool you also have two more blades. I like knipex tools, they are very innovative, the new twingrip, pliers, cutix utility knife and the little xs pliers wrench. I have all of them.
I've only just noticed the spare blades inside, came here to write the same comment 😅they're a bit hard to get out but I think it's really cool they put some in
@@Kleiner_Lutz There is a little hole and you can push out the blades with a small screwdriver.
@@fuloplehel yeah it was getting late so that didn't occur to me 😅 even though I first spotted the blades through that hole 😂 used the tweezers of my swiss army knife to grab them. You can also kinda shake them out
Well I should get one of these because I do this kind of work often. But didn't know what it did although I have seen it in the ads.
Same here… I’ve seen it many times but really had no idea what It did. Maybe there’s a lot of folks that needed to see it work 😁
Finally got it, love it Joseph 😎⚒️😎⚒️😎
The ridged tool is big. I need one of these. I do apartment maintenance so all the room I can save the better. Bought the Wiha XXL 3 thinking it was bigger
I'm definitely going to have to get one of these. I have just a normal ratcheting pvc cutter in my bag for apartment complex maintenance, and I hate how bulky they are and take up space in my already too full tool bag. This will save space and weight.
Looks like a handy cutter and not to bad a price against the plier style of pipe cutter, especially the ratchet type. I use a plier type at the moment for cutting plastic conduit, but still have to use light pressure and spin the conduit in the cutter, otherwise it has a tendency to cut at an angle.
Off topic but a couple of Knipex tools that you might find useful ; the Knipex 13 02 614 [ 160 mm Needle nose ( tethered) three ferrule crimping dies , stripping positions for 10 , 12, and 14 AWG ] . It also has a metric brother , the 13 02 160 ( in the event you need to play with offshore applieces etc !
Just ordered mine
Now I'm upset I didn't get it when it was "tool of the day " will be getting one thank for the demo
Yeah…. I didn’t get that lucky either unfortunately 😐
Thanks Josef😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
Anytime Ted 😎🔥
That is a neat tool for electricians as well. I just wish it worked on smaller diameter pipes, maybe down to 15mm.
I’m guessing it doesnt cut schedule 40?
Story of my life, "I don't even know if I need that.. so I ordered it..." 😅
Absolutely! 🤣
Will it cut through pvc?
Yeah but now test it on schedule 40 inside a wall. The drain pipe on my bathtub broke and it was a real fight to reach inside the access hole I cut out to make that repair.
This is not designed for that use. This is a thin wall pipe cutter primarily for when the pipe requires support around it to prevent splitting or cracking during the cutting process.
I use a superior tool ratcheting pipe cutter for schedule 40. If it’s super tight there are wire rope saws that can usually get it done if nothing else will 😅. Thanks for checking it out!
@@MillisConstruction yeah I looked it up and saw that it was not rated for sched 40 which is about 6 mm. Still a nice pipe cutter thanks!
You can score schedule 40 with it and make it easier to keep a much larger blade perpendicular.
Have you tried the TubiX on plastic? I only cut plastic occasionally and would like the versatility the Tubix offers.
Thanks!
Any good on ABS pipe ?
Also the locking button broke on mine after 2days
does it work with abs or xfr or sys15 or sys 636 or other schedule 40 pipe or just this IKEA junk?
solid review otherwise :)
Would this work for 3/4 " pipe for drain lines on hvac equipment?
I haven’t tried it on full thickness pipe but I will and let you know. It’s basically just a razor sharp knife blade cutting so the thicker it is the more rotations you’d have to make to get through it.
@@MillisConstruction I gotcha. Sorry for the stupid question.
@@jericosha2842 never a stupid question, it may work 😅
Would it cut sch80 pex
I have one on order ! I also ordered a set of three replacement blades sets . I like the folding capability ! Will it cut 1/2” and 3/4” PVC electrical conduit ? I like the idea it’s pocket safe !
I haven’t tried cutting those yet, I’ll have to see if it’ll work. I did a lot of sink plumbing installs with it this month and was super impressed!
Does it cut abs?
This is for thin wall pipe that needs support to cut it without cracking or splitting primarily. I haven’t tried cutting schedule 40
Or anything like that. It might do it but it’s basically a razor blade at an angle so you’d be turning awhile on anything thick for sure.
Hate mine total rubbish. It's hard work to keep it clamped. Especially under a bath. It's not as good as a fixed round cutter for a specific pipe size like the rothenberger
