  • The Knipex Bix cutter was originally designed to cut plumbers pipe. So we decided to check out its ability when cutting plastic electrical conduits.
This compact electrical conduit cutter works well on plastic conduit, flexible conduit and electrical duct up to 50mm diameter.

I've been using a similar blue colour version made some other company. Don't know which one. I bought it about 10 years ago from WF electrical. It's really good. It's fixed size. 20mm and 25mm versions. Highly recommended these sort of tools

I've been using a rothenberger plumbers pvc pipe slice it's OK but defo not as fast as your knipex one & I can't do flush cuts with mine I just like the fact you can get a straight un ragged cut for your conduit beats hack saw hands down 👍well done guys 👏

I like how it grips the pipe to stop it from twisting. I use the ck ones currently and you struggle to hold the tube square in the cutter when ringing it to get a neat flush cut it deviates. Also, when it's cold tube snaps, if you try to use the cutters to cut through. The other cutters are good though for mini trunking

What do you think about it for plumbing? What do you use it on most and have you found it to be the best or most convenient for the application?
I’m thinking about it for cutting tubular traps instead of bringing in the Milwaukee M12 hacksaw.

I have a kopex round 20mm only conduit cutter . The beauty with this one I can cut The conduit with the cables still in as the cutting blade does not go to deep into the conduit .. the knipex one does look good bug don't think I will get one . More than happy with my ratchet pipe cutters .

I just bought this for my miniatures hobby. It looks very handy for cutting tubes doesn't cost much and doesn't bend thin plastic tubes which is ideal for me. also the large surface area holding the pipe or whatever gives you lots of control. Hopefully I won't be dissapointed. I'm trying to make 2 anti aircraft canons from plastic gum bottles. What I'm trying to do is cut off the bottom part of the gum bottle and cut off the top with the cap of another gum bottle, put the top on the other ones bottom with glue and fill the inside up with constructive adhesive glue for extra sturdiness. Then I have two rotating caps where I can apply two tank barrels on both sides of the bottle on both caps

I’ve been waiting for these to appear on the UK market so that I could try them to cut conduit and ABS pipe (for aspirating systems). The pipe shears often crush the pipe to some extent and are not always satisfactory

But if knipex made this addition it will be better for pipes and peeling cables

I do a bit of plumbing with replacing showers i doubt it would cut 15mm copper pipe though :)
Knipex seem to be doing a lot of good tools, might be expensive but worth the money.
I can see advantages of no swarf,no rough edges over using a saw and not squashed as if possibly cut with a mini trunking/conduit ratchet cutter.
Talking about Mini trunking is there any tools you recommend to cut it other than a junior hacksaw as I have a Ck rachet cutter but it has stopped opening up unless assisted I'm looking for a replacement and which gives a square edge and doesn't squash the end.
