This is a great video!!! I could have saved myself an hour of testing if I would have watched this instead. The last point made is what I missed when testing: how to add a channel meeting to my calendar for meetings set up by someone else. Thank you!
Will they be coming out with an option to add an appointment instead of a meeting request? I just want to put events on a calendar but I don't want to invite everyone on the Team (or any individuals) to attend them - I just want it to be a view for everyone to see all events going on within that channel.

FYI we don’t have separate sharepoint as teams, just our own pages. Any reason why channel calendars events go to everyone?

Hi Chris , thanks for the helpful information , I noticed that when I create an events on Channel it shows automatically to my calendar , please let me know if I can stop this
Finally! Is there any way for the calendar to show on the Teams iOS app? On the App in the More tab, I don't see the calendar and I would expect it to be there.
Chris, is there a way to add an invite without a Teams meeting included (just the shell of a meeting) by any chance? Or is it a manual removal of the Teams meeting after it is generated?
Hi In this video Chris says members of the team (channel) do not receive an invite for the meeting but when I set up a meeting this way, everyone in the channel gets a notification and I don't want them to?
Dawn, Microsoft has messed this up a little. You need to get with your IT dept and tell them you don't want that group, the M365 group, to get notifications. BTW, it was not your IT depts fault.
Hi Chris or anyone That can help. what could be the issue that affects my view of what is being presented during a Teams meeting. Sometimes the presentation delays to reflect on my side and at time it just doesn't pop up at all.
Is there any way to schedule an event in our shared Teams Calendar that will automatically show up in all team members' Outlook calendars? I know we can Invite, but that seems needlessly cumbersome since it's obviously only our team of more than 20 people that need to know about the events mentioned. I'm aware that we could just use a shared calendar in Outlook, but that seems to defeat the point of a Teams Channel for group-related stuff. Any tips to make events in a Teams calendar automatically trigger invites to in Outlook calendar? The boss just doesn't have the time to check two calendars, and, in my opinion, shouldn't have to.
Hello Chris, thanks for detailed video. I have a question regarding this, is it possible to only allow few members of the channel to edit this calendar, and allow the others to only view this calendar? Much appreciated!
I think it depends on general access those members are granted to the channel - some can be set as guests who can only view but not edit, but that will apply on everything within the channel.
How do I get the invites to only show on the channel calendar and not my Outlook? I have training that my team needs to be apart of but I don't need to attend. I want the invites to stay on the teams channel but be removed from my outlook calendar. Is that possible?
I am having issues with my manager who is also an owner to the channel, making edits to an invite created by me. Can multiple owners manage the calendar?

One problem: this calendar is sending the invite to all the entire team; all channels. I think there should be some option to restrict sending the invite to only Tags of people, or selected people. Correct me if I'm wrong?
Depending on how the group is set up, it will go to the entire team or no one. Those are the two options. If you want to send to only certain users, you would have to set up no notifications to the Team, and type in the users you want the invite to go to.
With channel post, there is no way to hide or delete the post. You can delete something you wrote in a post conversation, but you can't delete what other people wrote.

Hi Chris. Overall a good video. What is still confusing to me is "why does this calendar exist?" I've spent a couple of years training users in how to use their Outlook calendars with Teams. Each Team already gets a calendar and each person has an Outlook calendar. What is the use case for this over the standard calendars?
Only the members of the Teams channel will see the meeting. It's a way of scheduling meetings without manually adding every attendee to the invite. If a person belongs to a Teams channel, they will see the meeting on the Teams channel calendar.
A Team does NOT get a calendar by default. You have to (a) open the SharePoint Site Collection on the back end (b) manually create a calendar in SharePoint and then (c) manually create a link to the calendar in the Teams channel. That's a lot of manual effort.
Mike, they are definitely having issues with this. When a team gets created, a Microsoft Group gets created. In M365 groups there is setting that allows all members of the group to get notified of events. It sounds like that is what is turned on. An Admin person for the Group, not the Team Organizer, has to turn it off. Microsoft needs to fix this, but I wouldn't count on it.

Hi! I actually think this is a really really stupid feature requested by no one. Why not just make the M365 group calendar, that the team is built on visible in Teams? I’m now almost in 2024 and this feature still makes little sense since the group already has a calendar that works logically in both teams and outlook if only we could make it visible here. Instead we get the quirks you describe here and not true sync between outlook/teams like with the personal calendar. Just expose the M365 group calendar to teams! Maybe keep this in just for shared channels.
what's the point of having a channel calendar when the basic stuff like scheduling private meetings or scheduling channel meetings in outlook calendar is still unresolved👎🙄
hello
Hello Chirs is there any whole month view with this application? , There are just daily and week period view.
I didn't even catch that. All I see is what you mentioned. Day, Work Week, and Week. Month would be great.
