The wipers pop up because the "winter park" setting is engaged. This helps to keep the wipers from freezing to the window. It places them where you can get to them to unstuck them and is also the part of the windscreen that is heated when the defroster is on. Most people don't realize that most cars have this as a manual feature. You just grab one wiper and pull it up the window a bit and it will lock in a higher position.
I love your thumbnails as they're unique and when I see them, I instantly know it's by you.
I find the packaging of this car kind of amazing. It's only 5 meters long, has decent interior space, a straight 6, a big, 38kWh battery, high voltage electronics, a rear AWD system and still has an option for a full sized spare in the trunk.
Fortunately, it seems like they removed their ugly faces from them however.
I love the normal thumbnails. I will literally ignore channels with too much junk in their thumbnails because they look so tacky to me. I like yours because I know at a glance that it's from Straight Pipes, and it's clear what car the video is about. 😎
Can never shame you for trying to improve, but you guys did nail the thumbnails a while ago. Clear shots of the car, tastefully comedic, and recognizable. Keep up the good work you guys are the best!

HD radio allows several stations under the umbrella of 1 "address" on the FM dial. You usually have that with NPR stations or college radio, but some other stations offer multiples to reach more people while only having to pay for one radio signal. Hope that helps.
Oh, and if you don't have an HD receiver, you generally just hear what is being broadcast on HD1.
HD radio allows you to have multiple stations, which for example, 88.1FM produces. the issue with HD radio is the range is limited. you have to be close to 88.1 transmitter to use HD radio. you should be able to still choose the normal 88.1 FM broadcast.
i don't miss the thumbnails of your weird expressions. And, love the channel.
Pretty sure paddles work in regular drive mode. But by default they are set to only be active in Sport. You can change the setting to enable paddles in regular drive in the settings. Same with the winter wiper settings.
At least that’s how it works on my Discovery.
Have always enjoyed your thumbnails. I understand wanting to try something different. It’s good to try new things! But in my opinion and I think some others agree, the clickbait thumbnails plague UA-cam loll. Keep up the good work boys, loving your current content

The range is a lot better than I expected.
The wipers probably move up so you can replace them easier, and duck back down for aero.
They move onto the heated glass so they don’t freeze. It only does this when close to zero degrees

I’m sure you could spec this car to perfectly suit your preferences, ie colour & engine & model & options etc, and you’d have a brilliant vehicle.
Generally agree with the thumbnails, but you guys missed an opportunity to replace the iX grill with a reaction face. That would be the appropriate use of a shocked face/mouth agape moment.

The shift paddles do work in normal drive mode. It's an option to switch it off.
The acoustic is so good in this car that you can hear the depreciation when if you pay attention.

You can option a stormer handling pack which includes rear wheel steer and electronic diff, anti roll bars etc for flatter cornering

HD Radio is pretty cool stuff. Each station can have multiple channels (like you see 88.1 HD1 and 88.1 HD2) with different content OR they can have fewer channels with higher quality sound.
Comparing with 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR V8 Supercharged Carbon Fiber Edition ,This Hybrid Range Rover is a premature baby.

I still think the best PHEV system in any vehicle was the 2016-2019 Volt. Wish GM used it in bigger vehicles.
Would that one stay in ev mode, even when flooring it? I just don’t get the point of PHEVs that don’t have an option that stays in ev mode. Without that option, might as well just buy a normal hybrid.
@@Syrinx-Priest i had a 2018 and it locked in EV mode no matter what you did even hard acceleration. It acted like an EV first with a generator.
I like it because i could do my daily commute on EV then if i needed to go further i had the range of the generator. I avg 1000kms per tank and a lifetime of 1.5L/100kms or roughly 300 MPG.
Now i drive a pure EV.

So close, buy I still prefer that Maserati that Yuri just tested, for it's simple, thoughtful, luxury. First time I've preferred a Maserati.

I love the way this car looks both inside and out. I really appreciate the fact that it's got actual exhaust pipes.. Not just 2020 real but actually real. Unfortunately the reason why I'd never buy a range rover because it's got the worst reality factor.

"Being comfortable and driving slow" is where it's at, to be honest. I like my Volvo T8 2016 because when I floor it, it goes (400+hp) - but 90% of my driving is being comfortable and driving slowly. Which the Volvo does so well with it's sculpted seats and Bowers and Wilkins stereo. A very comfortable ride.

The wipers are currently on “winter park” mode. When you drive in snow country, they recommend you set them in that mode so as they don’t freeze and get stuck!

14:29 Each radio station has its own 1 to 3 HD subchannels. For example Kiss 92.5, you have their actual 92.5 non-HD channel; 92.5 HD1 is Kiss' HD channel, 92.5 HD2 is actually 680 News and 92.5 HD3 is Sportsnet 580. A bunch of AM radio stations have been piggybacking off FM HD radio stations because AM is being discontinued in a lot of cars because the electric motors interferes with AM frequency.
I think the old one with the facelift just looked a little bit more boxy, nicer and cult.

Can’t you push and pull on the climate knobs to adjust other climate settings from the seats, temp, and tan speed? I’d find it hard to believe that you have to use the screen after they released that tech.
ya that’s how it used to be. But maybe they replaced it as they did push the button in for other climate functions. 🤷♂️
according to the '23 RRS manual they've moved the front seat heat/cool controls to the screen. Shouldn't be surprised, look at the new '24 RR Velar, they have removed *all* physical climate controls and put them in the screen. :(
The wipers move up the heated part so they unfreeze in the winter and get unstuck without damaging the wiper or motor. Clever hey!
I have the X5 45e, was looking to change it to the range rover 510e because it is the suv with most electric range from the PHEVs. Also the "new" X5 50e doesn't have the same range and the transition from real buttons to screens and capacitive touch is garbage, a crash on the motorway waiting to happen, just for changing the temperature.
Range rover claimed up to 70 miles not kilometers, hopefully it delivers...

HD radio can have up to four different stations on the same frequency (so that's why they have the identifier so you don't get confused (HD1 HD2 HD3 and HD 4)
Why dont car makers just make 3 different Hybrid Chass-i then just bolt on whatever top the customer wants? Like a big HotWheels or RC car toy factory?
This way we can put the garages aout of business fast... they will only have 3 cars to fix, car, bigger car of pickup!

I think the wipers go up because it's cold enough outside to have ice and so there's less of a chance of them freezing if there up.

If manufacturers cared to put more of the money into reliability and parts that mattered, this could be worth it. Otherwise, it’s a crap money pit that’ll end up with something broken at all times
You can enable paddle shifters in "D" mode in car settings menu.
You guys need to review the Chevy volt! It’s basically an electric car with a generator, like the bmw i3 with less range. But very nice and comfortable and pretty quick
It's not meant to be driven fast and agressive. It's just a comfy luxury car that look sporty, and I want one cuz I'm old.
