Growing in a wardrobe has one more advantage over a grow tent - *stealth* I had a similar setup many years ago, in a rented apartment, which was inspected (a brief look-around) every 3 months by a letting agent. A cheap 2-door wardrobe with a carbon filter, a cheap-ish 150W LED panel and 1 autoflower plant in a oxy-pot DWC, LST'd on a mesh net. Never had a problem. It was producing around 100g of dried bud every 2.5 months. My worst harvest was 90g, my best was 135g. The guy inspecting the property, each time was just a few feet away from the "growdrobe" and probably looked right at it many times, without ever suspecting there was a gorgeous weed plant in full bloom in there. This would never work with a grow tent, they are way too recognizable, even the smaller ones.
Cool build. Looks fun. I never get tired of unzipping my grow tent. I have a small wire frame shelf unit inside mine, so I can have layers too. Works well for me.

You're right about that! Most full-size light-loving plants grown at the bottom would require the top shelf to be removed. All our peppers were made into bonsai-sized plants which is why it worked perfectly for us. In our situation, the top-shelf canopy had between 150-300 PPFD light intensity and the bottom shelf had 2-3x that, which was just perfect. Thanks for your comment and have an awesome day!
On the intake side at the bottom i use a car cabin air filter to get rid of any pathogens and unwanted insects or damp or dusty air from entering the grow area cheap and effective for 3.95 euros you cant go wrong its like an air sock
They are very quiet! The NF-A14 is incredible and the NF-A20 is even quieter, but a bit more pricey and doesn't produce the same static pressure. Thanks for your comment! :-)

Only if you are growing photosensitive plants that need a specific number of hours with light or darkness to flower. It doesn't matter much for kitchen herbs and peppers :-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photoperiodism

It wasn't a problem in our situation (obviously) but it could be if one is growing medicinal plants. This setup is best suited for one who either isn't growing smelly plants or simply don't care about the smell. After all, it is legal in many places and/or the grow station is placed in a garage and not inside the living area. If you care about stealth and want the wardrobe look but still want it smell-proof, it is possible to place a 2x2' tent right inside the wardrobe. If a tent is just a tiny bit too large for your wardrobe, it is possible to shorten the tent's poles with a hacksaw or angle grinder. Hope this info helped. @@Newb118 A carbon filter will remove most or all odors from the air before it leaves your tent/closet. It isn't required to vent out of the room but you must vent out of the tent/closet to get new air and CO2 in to your plants and to get the heat and humidity out. You can DIY it and I've thought of doing it myself, but I'm sure it is a lot easier to buy a pre-made filter and hook it all up. Make sure to have the right size fan and filter for your setup. @@Newb118 The fan push/suck air out via the carbon filter and creates a slight negative pressure inside your grow space which makes it impossible for smells to escape via any other route. New air will enter the grow space through the vent and other small leaks but "old" smelly air will only escape via the fan-route. A tiny negative pressure won't be enough, though. This is why it is important to have a large enough fan and filter to create enough suction.

This video was about comparing tents versus DIY grow spaces, not complete kits. A lamp is required in both setups, just like the fans, which is why these costs weren't included. The Q2 lamp, which is illuminating the top level, is priced at $55. Good job but its not worth the time and money. Grow tents are cheap, you can assemble and disassemble whenever you need. By the time you have done this you have just about spent as much as the grow tent would have cost anyway due to them being so cheap. Also due to the materials being made out of cheap wood materials they are prone to rot if the moisture is not controlled properly.
Absolutely. Tents are rather cheap and have many benefits. Although, I did like having a white inside, a door instead of a zipper, and being able to screw things (fans, cables) to the hard walls and ceiling. The humidity doesn't reach very high levels here in Scandinavia but I'm sure it could be a problem in other parts of the world. Thanks for commenting and have an awesome day!

The cost is only 8$? So the LED are for free or what? This is a 600$ set up. You can get a complete grow set for the same money.
