  • In the first of a new series called The Frenzee Sessions, we head down to Meadowlands Fishery to fish the short pole line which is also known as the 5m line. Mick Bull shows you his way of catching these big carp with a few bags of hard pellets and passes on some helpful fishing tips during the session.
This venue has a big head of large carp and this method can be deadly to put together a lovely weight of hard fishing carp.
What is great about fishing, is anglers all have different ways of targeting the fish and the tactics they employ to get the best out of the many styles of fishing on the pole.

Did he mention his pole elastic choice? Halfway threw vid .. thanks for video btw.. I only fish a 6m pole as its all I own.. a margin pole. Just practice on this before I get a bigger one. I like waggler amd feeder fishing.. just learning it all for matches

Hello I’m new to pole fishing and wondering if somebody can help me. I have a pole with a elastic rating of 24, i fish for carp and I’m not sure what mainline I would need to attach to my elastic. I don’t want too heavy so it won’t snap my elastic, but not too light so I loose this fish. I usually catch carp in the lake I fish in the region of 10-15lb and what hook length would be recommended. Thankyou.

    Interesting video !
I’m in the USA and this fishing is very different from anything I ever seen here.
Don’t really understand why the use of “cane” pole and not a casting rod.
Here most people consider carp to be a Trash fish, some people target them but not that popular. When I was kid I fished for them using canned corn, we were always told you couldn’t eat them, taste like mud with to many bones. Think Old Blacks ate them.
I used to shoot carp using a bow, pretty popular and lots of fun, good practice for deer season

Nice video Mick, it’s nice to see you back on UA-cam and fishing at my local lake, is it worth using pellets as it gets colder?
We have a match there in November and I’m umming and arring about using corn, worm and hemp or pellets, I know what to use on the deeper pegs but hav really fished the shallower pegs so late in the year
