Here is my account of my greatest memory with a game that will never be surpassed. The year was 2006, we won our PS2 with much sacrifice from my father. I could only get the memory card the following month, because I had no more money. Onimusha 3 came along with it. Man, that intro alone gave me goosebumps. We were so fascinated by the game that we thought, let's try to finish it without a memory card. We were addicted to RE back in the PS1 era, so it helped a lot, lol. On the first try, we died in the gas trap with Jean Reno's son. The next day, Sunday morning, we tried again, this time we passed the damn trap. We alternated between playing the game and the other two. Man, so many tense moments. With each weapon discovered, each puzzle solved, going back and forth on that epic journey with Samanosuke and Jaques and Michele (I haven't forgotten about you), each boss we defeated was an achievement, the part with the ice platforms that broke I remember my friend saying, "You go, you go, you're better" lol. One of the many parts where we almost died lol. The tension was absurd, we were so far away, if we died it was over lol. Finally: Here we are at Nomunaga, the most legendary moment was about to come, my herbs had run out, there were no more medicines, my life was one hit away from dying, I said "Fabricio is over", my friend replied "go for it, go for it" and then, without hope, thinking I was going to certain death, I hit the bastard two more times, little did we know but Nobunaga was also on the verge of death, finally it was done, we jumped, we shouted "we finished it without memory", "we finished it without memory" 😂😭😭 this moment will never, ever be surpassed, we told the video store and some didn't believe it, others did, but it didn't matter, we knew what we had accomplished that day, we are still friends today, I just sent him this link on WhatsApp with the phrase "we will have to finish it without saving" lol. Let's toast, gentlemen, Onimusha is back!!!
It's so amazing to read stories like this about Onimusha because growing up, Onimusha Warlords was literally the very first game I finished to completion on my own growing up. Prior to that, I always needed help from my older bro, it was the first time I solved every puzzle and beat every boss on my own. It's a series I hold very dear to my heart and I made sure to buy Onimusha 1 remastered in 2019. I cried so many happy tears seeing Onimusha come back because I have been on message boards, I have been in youtube comments sections for YEARS shouting for an Onimusha 5/reboot as well as an HD collection
On another note, I know when they released Onimusha 1 Remastered on PS4, they scraped the plans to remaster and released the other 2 sequels because there wasnt enough sales of the first one. Maybe this accouchement will help them build more hype. I'd definitely by them and this new release in 2026 for me is a no brainer wishlist first day buy.

Onimusha and FFX were the only reasons I bought a PS2 back in 2002 when I was 11. I can't believe this is happening. I stopped console gaming at PS3 now I finally got a reason to buy myself a PS5 .😂
