I have 3 of the 24/7 Hygger lights on my 3 tanks. Mine are different as you can set the time & it cycles through at whatever colour & brightness you want. I have it on a dim amber light at 7am that works up to a brighter amber light then at 10am it slowly changes to the full spectrum daylight from dimmer to brighter, then at 6pm it goes back to bright amber & dims down to turning off at 10pm. Fully programmable & I've never seen my fish jump when it comes on like they used to with an on off light. I run the full daylight on 50% as that is bright enough but doesn't form so much algae. It's dropped into the tank several times, you have to pour some water out of the casing but all of the LEDs are working perfectly still. My plants grow extremely well with rich greens & my fish are happy. I'll do a video on it soon. Well impressive light & didn't cost too much either 😊
@@InkedGamerWolf420 I was going to do a video, I will do now. I'll try to get back to you with a link when it's done. Won't be the best quality as I've only got my phone but will cover all you need to know.
For the price they're pretty good. I have 4 of them on my 120g high tech and grows plants good. Saved a lot of money because 4 was like the cost of 1 fluval 3.0 and I'd definitely need more than 1 for spread coverage
I have three and love this model. As per a previous comment the light intensity is remembered if the light is disconnected from power (or there’s a power cut). I use a Wi-Fi smart plug and set it to come on 2 hours after my CO2 turns on an one hour after the CO2 is turned off.
So you can bypass the timer on the cord and actually use a regular time? I would like to use it for 8 hours total, low for 2, then 4 on high, then back down to 2. Do you think this is possible?
I started using those on my tanks last year. The are great. Another thing is that they work with my Home Automation system. They are the only light I tested that will come back on at it's last light level setting. I set them at 60%. All others come back on at 100%.
Just going to ask you if it is possible to use it with just a inexpensive timer, I would like it to go on and off when I want and not use the timer it comes with on the wire? I just haven't tried it myself yet, have it on now at 50% for 10 hours with the timer trying to figure out what level of light I need. Also my 978 does not do 60% light, it goes from 10%,25%,50%,75% and 100%.
I have had hygger lights for several years now. They are well made and put out a great spectrum. My only complaint is with the built in timer. It only allows 3 or 6 or 12 hours, none of which work for me. Also if you use a mechanical timer of your own, the light will only come on at the brightest setting. One other thing, if you use the hygger built in timer, the lights stay on all night at a very dim setting. So other than timers, great light at a great price!
I love this led series ur doing, how do you think these compare to the other reef budget led ViparSpectra? I think this light has a much better spread than the vipar but I wonder any other thoughts you might have... Thanks for sharing!
@@EverydayAquarist well, Hygger may be exposing the hikes a wee bit hey. Hopefully will prompt a rethink in other companies over inflating prices maybe.
To not cycle through all the lights just hit the on button twice and then hold down to shut the light off. I have this exact one it works great especially like the 24 hour cycle.
Hello! Thanks for the review and 'disassemblement' of the light. I found on the internet the total width is around 4.3" but could you measure the width of the internal led-strip?
The colouration is better and also I prefer the look of it. Obviously this passed the water proofing test whereas the C10 didn't. Only thing is the C10 had more lumen output but that doesn't necessarily mean more par but it is growing my macroalgae well...
Someone might have pointed this out, or maybe you found out yourself by now, but I think you can double tap the color button to go back to the main light setting
Hygger lights are very good for light ! The problem I've had with all including the digital is the timer keeps shutting off earlier and earlier, I don't know why, I can't believe I'm defective products! I use a timer on those. I have two digital, thought one was defective, bought another did the same thing, I use it because of the quality of the light. I use it on Manuel setting, so I have to turn it off and on, but it's a great, the problem is just timers!
This thing is bulletproof. I have 4 of them in 3 to 4 feet long and I have dropped all but one in water. I'm a hot mess I know! But they always keep chugging along. Had 1st one for 2 years and the rest a year. On open top tanks this thing is a work horse even when it falls in. I can't seem to see a need for 2 tho. Maybe on super deep front to back tanks
Hi I like ya review on this light. I was wondering would the 36w be the one to fit 36in tank as the light will fit 36in and up. Or should I go for the next one down
I am interested in getting this for my 3 foot long tank, I just want to know if the top part of the LED gets hot?? as I want to use it under cover of the wooden box lid.
i was wondering why the power brick was separate and plugs into the light, now i know why this cheapens the build and they can just have all the lights built the same and then just supply whatever power brick your location requires GENIUS engineering design to save money and pass it on to customers.
I just bought this light, is the 24/7 will always turn on at 6am and off at 10:30pm? Then what are all the option for different time? Are those the time that I want to start the light? Isn't 6am-10:30pm is too many hours for the plants? That's 16.5 hours.
My question exactly. Did you ever find an answer to this? The only thing I can assume is that the sunrise and sunset go on for a long time and you're only getting full spectrum light for a normal window. Otherwise I can't see how this one produced a ton of algae.
@@MrCynan4812 this light is incredibly programmable; i have mine set for the normal 16.5 hours, but at 30-40% dim with an hour of 60% peak at the middle of the day, as we'll as the normal sunrise, sunset, and moonlight. bright enough for plant growth, dim enough for manageable algae
id reccommend just removing the plastic cover as it will collect moisture and then grow algae on it just remove it its not hurting anything and would make the lights more effective not having a screen that gets dirty blocking the light
So, choosing between the Hygger and the Nicrew, What's the Verdit............... First time buyer needs light for planted mix tropical fresh water 4ft x 18" x18" and not sure which to buy.

"Party 🥳 lights belong on the ceiling of a local night club, NOT in a serious planted tank!! Also, only having 3 light settings that aren't adjustable ain't cool! Although the lights have a 3 stage brightness level, in a deep 18+ inches water column, one would most likely have to use this light to the fullest potential even with CO² Injection.
