If u're shooting in April 1st,, it's beginning of Ramadan , alot of people are out shopping for their needs in Ramadan,,, and in the busiest shopping area in Cairo ،، even I shy away from going 😀 there and I'm Egyptian,,, u're brave
Just started watching, and wow, I already love the Egyptian folks - the waves, eye contact, big smiles, laughing, curiosity about meeting folks, the thumbs up from the little boys was just absolutely adorable. They seem so interactive in their culture, a bit more so than some of the other locations that were filmed, which were beautiful also for their gardens and architecture etc., but more standoffish. Looks like so much fun to be there in Cairo and meet folks and lots of make friends. Cheers from the US.
Hey, glad you enjoyed it. They were sometimes a little too friendly. I try not to talk when I'm filming but they were all eager to say hello and start chatting.
I have been to Egypt 3 times, the last time being April this year, I think it makes sense to visit the markets at night when it`s cooler because with the Egyptian sun and heat during the day, not even the market sellers want to hang around. Thanks so much for sharing, really enjoyed your walk.
Hello sister I think that the reason for people gathering in the markets at night is because of the holy month of Ramadan. Egypt in Ramadan is something else
One of the dirtiest cities on earth and probably the worst air pollution in the world. You will immediately feel your lungs swelling with the toxic particulates infused in every breathe of the foul air.
Hi Isaac! You can't imagine how timely this latest video is, Egypt just made it back to the top of my travel list, after languishing for years, Gareth Leonard's channel has been showing new vids of Egypt for the last few weeks and that has renewed my interest... yours just sealed the deal! Love your work and just followed you on the 'Gram. Be well and keep up the great work sir.
Port said street reminded me of my Karachi city. Especially Sadar area, the Empress market and the surrounding vicinity! A fan and an admirer from Pakistan.
I love evening walk more than daywalk...some how i found it peace yet exotic...watching your video almost every day, keep walking and uploading....after i put comment, now im going to continue watching your video
Wow! So much gorgeous things to buy and delicious food! I have an obsession with those colored glass lanterns, with one votive candle they give out good light for a relaxing evening!🙏🌌💕
Man! I wait for your new uploads and cast them to my living room TV every time, and repeat the old ones over and over! And keep them on while I am working in my home office space. It just fills me with life! Your work is getting better and better and it was already the best on UA-cam anyways! This new camera you got is amazing! I lived in Egypt for a year and then visited couple of times and I LOVE IT! IT IS SO ALIVE! Full of people and noises, full of history, full of stuff, I feel like Egypt is always belly dancing with it's bustling streets! I like how the guy asked you American? you said Si LOL ! Also the color of the video changed around minute 15 for some reason, I liked the first coloring. I LOVE EGYPT SO MUCH! THANK YOU!
This is terrific. Thanks. An actual travel video to see what other places and people are like. The closed captions [CC]s were good to turn on! A good example is so wild at 20:08 to see an area that "was once right on the crossing point of major trade routes between North Africa and the Levant"! Around 30:42 Al-Muizz Street. Issue at 49:00! This is absolutely wonderful. I have to leave right at one hour, but I'll be back for the rest.
Very nice place and beautiful scenery. Your Cairo evening walk is so interesting. It's a place I really want to go someday. Big liked. I wish you have a happy Sunday...👍👍
Wow oh Wow, first time watcher, this video blew me away, amazingly great video, sounds w/headphones so good and so amazing, sub'd your channel within 20 mins watching, 19 mins too long but boy is this awesome to see/hear/experience, so THANK YOU very much! Awesome!!!
If I understand it right the people have their shops on the lower level and the living and storage quarters are in the upper levels? I am amazed at the history, the country's flair, and it also amazes me to see these merchants spending their entire lives in these trades. It looks like they have all of their family members involved and are there every single day to make a living. The amount of jewelry also amazes me.
I love this so much. I hope I can visit beautiful Cairo someday; all the colors, the gorgeous craftsmanship of people’s merchandise, the fashion, the food, the music and prayers being sung I believe (I heard “Allah” being sung every now and then i think ❤ ) and majority of everyone interacting with each other and not buried in phones. Thank you for filming this
I LOVE LOOKING AT THE LANTERNS IN THESE SHOPS...THANKS FOR LINGERING A BIT WHERE THEY ARE...THE QUIET & LESS 'POPULATED' PART OF THE MARKETS - KHAN AL-KHALILI MARKET WAS MY FAVORITE...VERY INTERESTING...VANCOUVER, CANADA...;)
@@ProWalks Of course I do. I talk to a lot of people about mi trips with you... And I would like to be "patreon" with you, but I live in a complicated and destroyed Venezuela... Almost, you are, to many of us, our only way to travel and see the world...
Love to see the bustling, nicely crowded streets,w/browsers and buyers and sellers hustling their wares, around their time of Ramadan on into the night still the chattering people 🌸😁💖👏👏👏
That's only one small part of Cairo, only few streets, this is I e of the oldest parts of the city and it is like that 24/7 since hundreds of Years. So, they clean it of course, but it get dirty as fast as you can imagine. It is like a big festival without no end 😊
Love your work! I follow a lot of walking/tour videos and you’re definitely my favorite! If I could make a suggestion or request, the next time your in Paris I’d LOVE a full Louvre tour. There are lots of videos of people walking through the Louvre but most just run through and skip entire wings. I’m not saying to sit and look at each piece individually or anything (that would take a lifetime!) but I would love to maybe do one wing per video and spend at least a bit at the very famous pieces! Your incredible camera work paired with your fascinating captions would be absolutely extraordinary and could help bring so much art to the world! Just a suggestion! Keep up the amazing work!
@@ProWalks I'm going back again tonight. I'm actually here on my third trip in Egypt and Im sticking around for the next 6 months...inshallah, as they say here.
A very interesting walk. A surprising delightful change. From the run of the mill Italian towns that look identical. With sidewalk cafes, red tiled roofs, basilicas, ponts and 7,898 churches, saints and basilicas. All fortified to the teeth. Yes. Indeed. The people of Cairo are friendly. With a goodwill demeanor. You can clearly see that. Exotic and nice. And Khan Khalili Bazaar seems to be teeming with locals. Going about their daily lives. A far cry from the befuddled gawking, Northern European tourists [ which, mostly, you will find in Istanbul, Morocco ]. Enjoyed this one.
I would want to stop and see and smell every spice and learn about them. Their entire culture and these countless shops is amazing. The author of this movie said at times his nose literally burned because of all the spices.
Thank you for the glimpse into a very beautiful and rich culture. Your camera work is very nice and even. It would help the folks (like me) who have never been there to have some things explained : are there street signs or markings ? Are those apartments above the shops? Are there parks anywhere? How do people get around? Thank you for the lovely tour.
Wow, Isaac. It must be hard to film in all that crowd and noise. The boys in approx 5:00 having fun with you. Hope you get out to the Pyramids soon. That will be interesting and much quieter. Stay safe.
As in any large bustling place when traveling it would be advised to secure valuables. All cultures have troublesome areas and in all countries things can happen. There were a lot of people that were friendly, but there are always people who have other thoughts. When one does not understand their culture simple misunderstandings can happen too. I liked it when the author of the video tried to figure out why the heck this one merchant kept throwing around the clothes. It is beautiful but you would have to also be on guard.

They remind me of Brazilians.
They are so friendly. Same with Egyptians I’ve met here in the United States. Always so happy and friendly. Great tour. Excellent subtitles. 👍🏻👍🏻

Their spirit of ‘joe de vivre’ is evident in this famous bazar. Egyptians really know how to celebrate life, money or no money
