I think this is the first time my ND brain has assisted me. I was only aware of the music because folks mentioned it in the comments, which kept flashing as the vid played. Beyond that, I was so focused on understanding what you doing and saying at times I didn't even perceive it till you stopped speaking. That aside, gonna try this, but with a couple fewer stiches as I don't want as wide a band. Cheers love 🎉 thanks for the vid.
I just finished my headband! Thank you for the tutorial. I’ve crocheted for years but just recently started knitting. This is the first thing I’ve made that wasn’t a dishcloth
Thank your sister for the tutorial , I just finish my second band but I didn't knew how to do the finnish part , you have a lovely voice and I enjoy the way you teach ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, this is great! I am an experienced knitter, but this was something new to learn even for me. I would love to see what it looks like on and will for sure try to make one on the weekend.
I've not seen anyone knit left handed before. Looks like you are placing yarn around the wrong way on the purl stitch. But this makes it look different. 😉
From what I have learned these are just normal knit stitches (but I am still learning myself, so I am definitely open to suggestions). Knit stitch goes from the side around the front part of the stitch, twisted would go around the back. You can check out a video here: ua-cam.com/video/plieeghzbH4/v-deo.html
@@TwinPeakKnits I've watched again the video more closley. For me your knit stiches look a bit twisted (one leg of "v" is over the other). From what I noticed, it seems to me when you do knit stich you wrap the yarn around the needle from above. As far as I know usually to make knit stich you need to wrap the yarn around the needle clockwise. I hope that you'll find my hint useful and I wish you the very best in knitting 🙂
@@TheNimphel Oh I see what you mean, it seems I do a combination of continental and English style of knitting :D I will play around and try out a couple different styles. Thanks for the advice!
@@TwinPeakKnits It isn't that you're doing a combination of English & Continental. That's just about which hand you hold the working yarn in (right for English, left for Continental.) It's that you are wrapping the yarn counter-clockwise for your knit stitches, when it's usually clockwise (whether it's English or Continental.) Your way isn't 'wrong' if that's what you want to do, but it is highly unusual and does change the finished result. Any beginners learning from this video would also get very confused if they learn to knit this way and it then messes up their results with other patterns, so you really should mention it.
Also, honestly, your whole way of knitting and holding the yarn is incredibly strange and looks to be very slow, difficult and painful for you. If I was having to push the pointy end of my needle to get each stitch off, it would start to hurt! Then moving your whole hand to wrap will slow you down, unlike proper continental knitting. I'm guessing your tension isn't that consistent either. You should look up videos about knitting continental, because there's loads of help out there and your technique could be massively improved. I'm just trying to help. And beginners, please don't learn to knit from this video!
Thank you! And also thanks for pointing out that my info about needles is not very clear, I am still in the process of learning how to make videos for my projects. Its actually neither, in my country the size of the needles = the size in mm, so what I meant was 6 mm needles (UK = 4, US = 10) :)
@@TwinPeakKnits One more question. In the first row, before you slip stitch at the end you pull the yarn to the front. Is this the same for the last slip stitch on the other side? Or do you leave it in the back for that side and in the front again for the next row etcetera? Your video did not show that part.
@@inge3725 Yes, you always slip stitch with the yarn in front. But on one side the stitch before that is a purl so it is already in the front and on the other side its a knit stitch so you have to move it to the front :)
I literally started this today and went from 19 to 15 and the headband is still toooooo wide for my head. Might as well be an open one. How can i fix this?
Same! I'm having such a hard time following because the hand placement blocks alot of it. As a beginner, definitely needed it slower and more "showy" to teach

I'm a little frusturated, your stitches when doing knit, purl, knit, purl look so uniform and mine keep getting wonky and knotted and i dont know if thats meant to happen or if im just doing it wrong
I have a bigger head so I tried making it longer...turns out I didn't need it, I tried to redo it but it's already sewn tight, so I had to sew it at the bottom to make it fit... So now I have a big bulb on my forehead..

Thanks for the tutorial. I like music but why you play it so loud. It is so distracting when I am trying to listen to what you are saying. I will knit a headband. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the feedback :) Only thing that comes to mind is that you are knitting twice into the same stitch without dropping it and this way adding a stitch every time. So maybe make sure that after you knit or purl a stitch you drop it off your left needle. And with the last stitch in each row you just transfer it from the left needle to the right. Hope this helps :)
I too kept getting an extra stitch. I think it was on the last stitch when the first on the next row was purl, but who am I to know. Really frustrating, I unraveled and started again so many times. I wouldn't consider this a complete beginner video. It also doesn't help being I'm not left handed so help my yarn differently. None the less, thank you.
As I was knitting I heard a loud noise of like a dog or something like the dog was doing the happy sound of a dog I was soo scared I had to make to voice louder so I couldn’t hear the dog
@@joannelemaire3855 For this particular project, the centimeters really does matter more than the rows because it depends on how big the person's head is. You just repeat the pattern until it's about 19-23 inches long. I went with 20 inches because I'm making this for a child, for an adult head it might need to be longer.
