I’ve only been knitting for one month & was able to make this-VERY beginner friendly! I made it to the 49cm & it fits me great, but I made it as a gift so I hope it fits my friend too. Thank you for the awesome video!
Oh, thank you so much, you're so sweet! Well, dislikes are quite normal - everyone has their own expectations from a video, and if they are not met, the person doesn't like it.
I didn't knit since middle school, but I made this in 2 days and it turned out super nice! Now I want to knit myself a beanie. And a scarf. But first, I need to rest my wrist, because it was not ready for this. Thanks for this easy-to-understand tutorial!
I’ve made 5 of these and they turned out great! I much prefer it to be 20” long, so it feels better on my head. Also when binding off, I started by k2tog then purled the next stitch, etc., then I knit the last 2 stitches together. It made the bind off a bit thicker so it didn’t have a hole at the corners. Thank you SO much! It’s soft, flexible, warm and also makes a great neck warmer when you pull it down. I also made a few stitches on each side of the twist after seaming to keep it staying flat so it doesn’t get accidentally put on with the seam on top
This pattern was hard for me to do as a beginner so if there are any beginners out there wanting to achieve a similar pattern do the following: cast on 30 stitches P2, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1... then pearl the pearls and knit the knits. You'll get almost the identical pattern but its just easier to handle when you are just starting. Happy knitting!
That's true, the English rib is puffy and pretty, but it can be confusing for a beginner. The traditional 1x1 rib is a nice alternative for a beginner.
@@mirellamoments9455 I appreciate your video. Easy to understand. Hopefully i can get good enough to do the English rib one day! Merci beaucoup! Bonne journée.
Just finished this with no problems, even as a beginner (i am more into crochet but i really wanted to try knitting as well). Thanks for the tutorial :)
Hello! I just thought that I would come back to let you know that I successfully completed this headband in a beautiful red yarn. I made a few small mistakes but it looks very lovely! I'll be sure to make more headbands to gift to loved ones :) thank you for sharing
I hadn't learnt the English rib stitch before and I couldn't understand how it would work as a rib. Now I love it and the clean edges too. Project complete, ears warm. Thanks :)
Thanks so much for the video. I was making this at 5am after being up all night with my baby. I wouldn't have been able to figure it out if it wasn't for your excellent demonstration.
I never understood how this kind of twist worked, thank you so much for explaining it so clearly! The end result is beautiful, I will definitely try it!!
This made my day! I just received this pattern in an email that directed me to your blog, then I found this video from your blog. I also subscribed because your instructions are very clear. Thank you!!!
Thanks a lot for the guidance! I used a different pattern for my headband, but then I stitched two ends in a twist as you are showing. 😊 I think 30 stitches make the headband too wide, around 20-25 should be enough.
You're welcome! :) Sure, the number of stitches can be customized - it really depends on how wide you want the headband to be and your knitting tension (and the chosen yarn, of course - wool, for example, often expands after the project is washed the first time).
This is a very difficult pattern even for an experienced knitter like me.I have attempted it numerous times to no avail ! Thankyou for sharing the easier way !
Hey! I just made this and it turned out great! Such a simple project yet it brought me so much joy and I can’t wait to make more for my friends and family!!!!🥰❤️
I love it so much!! Im going to make some for my friends and well be matching! the only thing that worried me was that i wasnt sure how long to make it 🤔 because i like it tight. I dont know if this will help anyone who had the same concerns, but I made it 39 cm and it fits great and stays on snugly! thank you so much for the tutorial!!
@@TJazzie26 This is Continental knitting - I hold the yarn in my left hand and "pick" it with the right needle. If you knit in the English style, this can look confusing. Basically, you just repeat 2 things - you make a yarn over and you knit 2 stitches together. Hope this helps!
Cast on 30 stitches with two needles yarn over, slip one stitch purl wise, K2 together *do it until 50cm or 19.5inch Bind off: purl the purl, knit the knit Thank you!
Can I use chunkier yarn and larger needles for this project? Hoping it will work and maybe just change the number of stitches I cast on. It's so lovely!
Very well done, makes me feel I could make this. Thanks for the confidence boost. (Also, I always have the closed captions on because I miss things otherwise. At the end, it says "wash your husband" ... LOL ... instead of headband. Thought that was actually funny in a good way.)
You get the exact same fabric by doing the all knit fisherman knit stitch - which is the same every row. CO an even number of stitches then follow this * K 1, K1B* across all sts. Repeat this for the length desired and BO in pattern.
Very good method to make hair band with twist.. I tried it on normal wool needles.. please could you let me know that how many stitches we should for an adult headband. Thanks
