Know you're not a fan of the sepia tint but by the sound and the graphics I think the devs were shooting for a "Gameboy" Experience. Not the "Gameboy Color" but the original "Gameboy"./ And they nailed it!
So glad to see you hooked on this, too! After about a week I hit mastery 25 on Archer last night as I keep finding myself coming back every night to do just a little bit more. I would suggest to not ignore the challenges at all. I always felt that I had nothing to prove by doing such tests, but the devs did an amazing job of designing these mini-games in ways that fundamentally change either the class or game for a short and fun time. I'm excited to see what their next game will be.
Paused the video, bought the game, got to Mastery 5 with the Archer, unlocking challenges and The Summoner class. Returned to finish the video. :) Thanks, Splatty! Edit: You mention early game pacing, did you also mention you can control game speed with the controller bumpers? Really speeds up early game.
You don't have to 'path' to a new node. Once it's illuminated and provided you have enough talent points, you can simply take it. This illuminates the surrounding nodes and allows for branched builds. Edited to clarify: This is allowed only AFTER UNLOCKING THE EPIC WIZRD PERK. I apologize.
Are you sure? Maybe this is a perk you unlock? What you're describing doesn't work for me, at least when trying to click one of the lit up distant epic/package nodes. Yes I have enough talent points, only the ones connected to my existing nodes are flashing as if they're selectable. 🤷♀
I've been a fan of this game since very early on in its development and I can say for a fact that it's come such a huge way from where it started... and it was already super fun back then! Great game, very involved developers, 10/10 in my book
I was playing Talented pretty consistently around the time the bandit gun dude was released. It's been a while but this video has reminded me that I should put a few runs in to see how it has changed!
I bought this game after seeing a video over a year ago. At the time I did all the content/achievements available and now the game has over twice the amount of achievements. Very good purchase for such a small price.
Thanks for the reminder, had already picked this up before, but now with 1.0 it's high time to dive in. Should be a good play on the Steam Deck as well I'd imagine.
Game looks fun, and novel. The only gruff I have with it is the monochrome color palette. I have a very hard time rolling games like this (the rare exception being loop hero which still I wish it had other color options).
The way you progressed the tree picking every white node triggered me xD You just use the white nodes as travel nodes and rush to the nearest higher rarity one like blues, purple, etc
Splat is one of the few consistencies in this post apocalypse RPG of a life
What a beautiful way to describe my autistic life.
Isn't it a psychological thriller?
A great addition.

That's what I thought, it looks like a high definition version of a Gameboy title.
Oh for sure, you can tell it was inspired by Zelda.
@@Kuhtlass yeah, I loved that Zelda game where I just stood in one spot.... Shooting things with rockets and crap.
That's my favorite Zelda game 🙂
@@glorbog I said inspired, my man.
Has that old Zelda look to it, yet it plays its own way.
I could watch you play this game way longer than 30 minutes.
This game is a bargain even at full price

He did, a couple of times.
did basically the same bought it instantly and honestly struggling to put it down.
This is why I love indie games. Always something new and interesting.
It immediately jumped out at me as fun. I saw the talent tree and bought the game asap. Thanks for always showing us great games!

I believe this is due to an epic talent from the mage, otherwise you do have to path to the talents you want to buy.
@@gingerbeard3341 you are absolutely correct. My mistake, original comment edited.
I think this is the first time where I already own a game that Splat reviewed! I love the game, it's simple and super-complex at the same time.

I saw the Splat Seal of Approval on Steam before the video was uploaded and that was WILD for my brain to process lol.

is it crazy that games are getting less controls but more popular lmao
Really dig this one. Simple, but works so very well.
Looks good, added to wishlist for now. I want to finish at least 1 of the three games I am currently cycling.

I have been playing this game for the past couple days and it's a really amazing game
Just got this. Pretty fun. I love $4 games
May the character with the biggest talent win.
This game rules. I’ve been playing for about a week
If you loved this, you'll probably adore Nova Drift.
What a charming title!

As always, I have to commend the use of addictive instead of addicting.
And then he changed the title...
@rosstee ehh, it was nice while it lasted.
I MISS YOUR STREAMS
WOOHOO! Splat posted a new game.
This is a good day.
Hahaha! I've used the phrase the "oh shit button" for years as well 😂
ThankYou SirSpla77!

Welp, that was an instant pickup
I am now buying this.
🔥🔥🔥
were getting back to the same game this christmas break splat ! Keep it up man !
I wish this had a Mac build. I'd play the heck out of this on my laptop, but I'm never going to boot up the gaming PC for it. Too bad, looks super fun
VM is your friend.
excellent!
If Zelda didn't go down the Zelda route.
Game looks so basic, yet enticing, and I love the old Zelda look they are going for - very nostalgic.
Has splat stopped streaming on twitch? there's no VoD and the last highlight is from 3 months ago or something.
I wonder what will happen if they add 4 new directions... Just saying! Wishlisted!
There’s what looks like a knockoff free version of this on iOS it looks like. Got it a bit ago, didn’t know there was a Steam one.
Dang. That's a lot of bang for buck.
why does it feel all of these videos are always sponsored, but they dont say so :D
this game looks awesome but the colour scheme to me will give me a headache. if it had harder contrast it would rock
28:25 - "Spider got got by poison."
That's what I call *_"irony"!_*
instant buy, this is just another Vampire Survivor for me.
🖤
comment for the comment god!
Soundtrack
Hard pass for me, but I still want to support the channel.😊
It's 2.5$ for me, no-brainer
Ok i can give it points for feeling a bit original but man it looks like it came from nintendos gameboy era.
❤🎉
Still better than PoE.
Not for me at all.
Third 🥉! Thank you for the video
Yo! 1st
Dang i thought i was first 😢
