I discovered this anime this year and I honestly think it's one of the most underrated shows out there. I know this is something that people say all the time, but Seirei no Moribito is really underappreciated. Balsa is my favorite female character of all anime, her character is so unique and believable. I don't have enough words to describe how she feels so different from other female anime characters. The music of course is awesome (with Kenji Kawaii, it's always awesome) and the animation can be so good. The novels are also great, in case someone wants to know more about this world and characters.
respect, clare (claymore) happens to be my favorite because she’s actually cutting down the things that’s tryna harm her, i had to deduct points from bulsa cuz she was way too nice, moribito should of been rated R
just finished it this week for the first time. I agree, totally loved Balsa. Nowdays, the people who try so hard to make strong female character with a message make annoying characters noone likes or relates to. Balsa is a strong warrior, principled, brave, yet motherly and kind and gentle at times. Really rooted for her and whished she will survive it. Also loved most of the characters, Tanda, Toja and cute Saya, I liked that the Emperor side wasn´t made like villains, and the pacing of the story. Some complained it is boring, but I like slice of life village stories.
Where did u find the anime ? I tried to watch in VOSTFR but dont found , i can try to see in english :) Its such a beautiful anime, and ur right, best female character ever ♥
@@the007bond2 Balsa had a good reason for not cutting down people, at least. she was trying to save the amount of people she got killed when she was younger iirc. while i would've been ok with more violent/fatal battles, i think it would also go against the spirit of the show. the combat was still amazing even though it didn't result in literal death
Perhaps my favorite TV show Solidly grounded action, injuries that actually mean something, solid themes (respect, legacy, training vs talent, destiny vs fighting destiny, importance of tradition), likable and realistic characters, superb worldbuilding and attention to detail (I pick up more with each rewatch!), and of course the music. AND logical reasons why Balsa would be able to hold her own in combat. Not only did she grow up using the spear, but she was trained by the probably the best spearman alive, and a spear has a huge advantage over swords in open spaces. I have the soundtrack on disc, but it's nice to see it pop up here, too. Thank you for posting!
@@Monair9 how were the characters underdeveloped?? haha that's the last type of criticism i'd expect for Moribito. many of the characters changed their behavior over time to better understand Balsa and Chagum, who had the most character development obviously (as well as the white-haired astronomer, forget his name). but not every show needs every character developed to death. i think when some people complain Moribito is boring they're disappointed by how the fights fall off for a bit after the first few episodes which have intense combat. but the subsequent episodes do a lot of table-setting that's worth the payoff by the end imo
I am in complete agreement! Kenji Kawai was a true master in composing this soundtrack, which accurately captured the atmosphere of this beautiful story.
There's a different version in the first few minutes of episode 01. It's a version with all the instruments, keyboards, strings, percussion, and instead of vocals, the melody is played by a beautiful flute solo.@@mbworklogic6487

@audreyc3398 Your profound observations are something I completely agree with. This work will always be etched in our hearts.

Awesome Quality
I'm looking for that instrumental version (with the flute) of "Naji No Uta" we can hear on the first minutes of Episode 1 to no avail
Some versions are not released on the original soundtrack :/
