Since I’m not a native speaker, it’s very important for me to understand what a person on the UA-cam is saying. And you are just a dream! Your English is super clear and pleasant to listen to! Thank you!
Great video. Really clearly explained the difference between the big 3 and your top picks. Zero Knowledge encryption sounds like the ticket to privacy of content
I've been using Icedrive for a while now and I'm happy with it. I've uploaded my music collection from my PC to it, it's really quite fast and easy to use. The best thing about it is that you can upload entire folders, in any size, without compression! I tried the free version of pCloud and I like that too. They both have mobile apps as well-which weren't mentioned in the video-and I think they're very good too. Which one do you use to backup a music collection of hundreds of GB?
A huge problem with Network Drives is that Finder can't search inside them for some reason. I also love how easy and integrated with Finder Dropbox is with things like generating a sharing link with the system's context menu. With the recent drama with Rick & Morty's author, though, I got really afraid of losing my data. Haven't found an alternative yet.
I've been using pcloud's free version for over a year now to test the service and while I'm liking it more than Dropbox since it kind of integrates better with the ipad, the network drive connection has failed a couple of times. I'm considering using it as a storage for files I don't use frequently.
Great video on the various storage space services. I am a filmmaker who has 8TB of 4K RAW media data. I would like to test pCloud’s Network Drive. If I am editing film, and I need to access BROLL on the Network Drive, will a NLE recognize it?
pcloud is crazy slow when compared to its competition, its like 50 to 200KB/s for both download and upload. Their customer support insist my ISP is the bottleneck. I did a test on different regions on AWS (US, CA, SG and EU) and all yearned the same result. Got tired of explaining to the customer service and requested for a refund.
Watching this Video again after 1-2 Years due to the fact that I run out of the 1TB (lifetime) Storage from Icedrive that I purchased back than. I am very curious if pCloud is better in some points compared to Icedrive. I consider the 10TB (lifetime) plan of pCloud. Someone with pCloud (and maybe also Icedrive) experience can help me with this decision?
PCloud only has 2TB of space. That sucks. IceDrive is very expensive. OneDrive is SLOW and LAGGY like everything that Microsoft has shifted to the cloud.
Could you do a video on cloud storage for home/personal use? For things like photos, Etsy downloads etc... who needs easy access to pictures and files on my android phone. No interest in file sharing or editing. Thanks,
I completely disagree with your assertion that OneDrive provides no security. I have been using OneDrive since before it was called SkyDrive - Yes, it even existed before DropBox under MSN Premium/MSN Explorer as far back as 1998. I pay ~$70 per year for MS365 which comes with 1 TB of storage. You can also opt for the Family plan which allows up to 6 members with 1TB each. I have the best 2FA encryption. Also, it allows you login with a device instead of a password. Considering its integration with Windows 11, I stress people to use it for easier management of their PCs. Unlike Google, your login email doesn't have to be a Microsoft provided email account. You can use Gmail, Apple or any other email address to create a Microsoft account.
@@ningmu8584 You can get 100GB of OneDrive space for $19.99/yr or get 1TB for $69.99/yr under the Microsoft Personal plan which includes the MS 365 downloadable apps. It is a much better deal than Dropbox in my case as I am a big Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook user.
I need some help, im new to all of this. What is really the key difference between cloud storage and cloud backup? I've read about it online but i still have doubts. Im still not sure which one is the one i need. I want to store my files (pictures and videos) i have tons of them. I want them secured and stored but with not too much complication, simple process is what works best for me since im not a big tech person. Please someone help me decide.
Cloud backup is exactly what you would have done over a decade ago, using an external HDD, now your HDD is online. You have all the copies of your work on your local drive, you just need an online backup in case of an HDD crash or virus or hacking attack. Cloud storage is more immediate. You want to store copies of your work online to access from anywhere so that you don't have to carry it on an external drive or thumb drive. You can also share the file and collaborate with people online and everything is stored and saved in real time. I think cloud backup is slower and cheaper while storage is faster and a bit more expensive. Most of the features overlap at times, it's the intent that differs. Hope that helps
I'm not sure yet but I think I'll beat IceDrive, considering it's so much newer, it still came a long way. So it do have high enough potential to even beat pcloud someday, of course that's just a guess so it may never happen. Even if it won't become the best cloud in general, as long as it becomes the best one-time payment cloud aka beat pcloud then that's good enough for me. And it convinces me even more when I see "consistent" Icedrive update videos, but not for pcloud (web says last update was 5 months ago), so if Icedrive release good update at a faster rate then that future might actually happen. It is a one time payment afterall, so I think it's wise to buy stuff with the future in mind, I really like the new portable update they added recently which pcloud doesn't have too for example. Lol XD
OneDrive has the worst sync client I have ever used, absolute garbage. I get 1 TB of cloud storage with my 365 subscription and I cannot use it reliably on a daily basis.. thanks Microsoft. I really believe they do it intentionally so that the cloud storage is used strictly for documents and small files only, so basically only through the Office apps
SYNC is terrible!!! Their customer service never responds to issues and if you have any sort of file that's larger, it will have a ton of errors on upload and download. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY.

WOW!!! I am so stoked to hear you, a topnotch pro, slamming Google's Backup/Synch. It drives me crazy!
Google drive with cryptomator?(free, open source) savest way to secure your data online!
Google will give you ads based on Jebrish files
The one thing about Sync I wish they had is a Network Drive
Excellent job 😊

I have Microsoft onedrive I paid for $10 for 1TB storage
There Android app has lots of bugs.
I bought Icedrive because you recommend it and is amazing i have to say
May I ask why Proton Cloud was not also reviewed and how you feel they fit in to the mix?
Great video! Thank you very much for the overview
16:00 I just love the next 30 seconds, the guy is genuinely talking from a painful personal experience!

Icedrive still has bandwdith CAP? what about pCloud still has no bandwidth cap? (for the lifetime plan speaking)
yeah but the bandwidth is super generous. i have 1TB perm space and 2TB bandwidth. plus the bandwidth restarts every month
I've already dumped my whole 1TB of Icedrive in one Year and never got above 2% utilisation per month from the Bandwidth cap.
sync has no bandwidth limit but it’s slow so for now i use sync
@@brien. If it has no bandwidth = it's slow
;-)
@@Rompack that’s what I said
Thx for review !

Can we get a response on this question… please! Ty!
I have also had problems with OneDrive's syncing.
What about mega drive ??
Not being tech savy, I was able to get the gist of much of this and I am grateful for that!
That's not True. There is also Icedrive for Linux. Although it's bit buggy.
Thanks for a great video!
Why is iCloud not included?
Have you ever heard of Tresorit?
What about tresorit?
Can you please make a video about Tresorit
Google Drive keeps crapping out, restarting, and slowing down my iMac.
Im sure this is NOT sponsoring meterial. This is only possible explanation for leave MEGA.
