Intravenous Injection of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) mRNA Vaccine Can Induce Acute Myopericarditis in Mouse Model
    academic.oup.com/cid/advance-...
    healthfeedback.org/claimrevie...
Leo Nicolai, Cardiology Fellow, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich:
    German Centre for Cardiovascular Research
Indeed, there is peer-reviewed work showing in mice that possibly intravenous injection of mRNA vaccine leads to myocardial inflammation.
that intravenous injection of adenoviral vector based vaccine (AZ1222, ChAdOx1) leads to thrombocytopenia and platelet-directed immune responses,
    offering a possible explanation for vaccine-induced thrombosis/thrombocytopenia
these data might indicate a simple measure to lower the incidence of vaccine-induced side effects,
There is a lack of data on frequency and effects of IV injection in humans.
Most likely, two approaches are needed to further validate the data:
    Large animal studies
Studies comparing incidence of vaccine-associated thrombosis/thrombocytopenia/ myocarditis in countries with mandated syringe aspiration to countries that don’t mandate this practice.
Thrombocytopenia and splenic platelet directed immune responses after intravenous ChAdOx1 nCov-19 administration (29th June 2021)
    www.biorxiv.org/content/10.11...
Recently a rare and novel complication of SARS-CoV-2 targeted adenovirus vaccines has emerged: thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS).
we employ in vitro and in vivo models
to characterize the possible mechanisms of this platelet-targeted autoimmunity.
We show that intravenous but not intramuscular injection of ChAdOx1 triggers platelet-adenovirus aggregate formation and platelet activation.
After intravenous injection, these aggregates are phagocytosed by macrophages in the spleen and platelet remnants are found in the spleen.
This is followed by a pronounced B-cell response with the emergence of circulating antibodies binding to platelets.
Our work contributes to the understanding of TTS and highlights accidental intravenous injection as potential mechanism for post-vaccination TTS.
Hence, safe intramuscular injection, with aspiration prior to injection,
could be a potential preventive measure when administering adenovirus-based vaccines.
Helen Petousis-Harris, Associate Professor, University of Auckland:
Vaccinologist and associate professor at the University of Auckland
There are a range of injection techniques for administering vaccines,
Injecting fast and withdrawing the needle
    Injecting slowly before withdrawing
Pulling back on the plunger, seeing there is no blood, then injecting. This is called aspiration.
    Rationale for aspirating
vaccine could be inadvertently delivered into the blood rather than the muscle tissue.
But as the flashback of blood hardly ever happens, the practice was abandoned by many practitioners.
I have not seen any evidence to support the rejection of this hypothesis at this stage.
The animal model study supports the possibility that inadvertent injection into a blood vessel could result in undesirable reactions.
However, the majority of myocarditis cases are occurring in young males after the second dose, something that this hypothesis does not explain.
My conclusion is that this requires more research and observing the patterns of post-vaccine myocarditis among populations where aspiration is practiced could be helpful.
    Common sense in Denmark
    en.ssi.dk/news/epi-news/2021/...
    COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen
A single 0.5 mL dose of undiluted vaccine is given.
Based on a precautionary principle, we recommend aspiration before injection.

Dear Sir, my husband and I are South Africans who have been living in Thailand for almost two decades. We managed to obtain the government's AZ vaccine and was due for our first vaccine at the beginning of July at a private hospital in Bangkok. I have been following you since the beginning of last year and on the strength of your advice, regarding aspiration of the needle, I requested that they pull back on the syringe. After involving quite a crowd and a translator, a senior nurse finally appeared and informed me that they use "modern techniques" only (by not aspirating). I was insistent and pointed out the recent articles that you used in your discussions. The senior nurse disappeared and returned a bit later to thank me that I informed her of the "new" findings (she showed me another article on her phone that she had found). They aspirated the injection and when I returned three months later for the second vaccine, aspirating the injection was standard procedure for all. Thanks to your unbiased approach to data, I reckon you have kept quite a number of people safe so far. Much gratitude.

Intense exercise damages the vasculature causing inflammation (including the heart). If the injection is intravascular then there's a risk that it aggregates in the bone marrow. There is evidence that when this happens monocytes produced by the bone marrow carry spike proteins to sites of inflammation where they induce further thrombosis. Bone marrow cells can survive for over a year meaning this is how long they can produce cytotoxic spike proteins.

The tone of how you request that aspiration be used is important. We only have a few indications that accidental intravascular injection may be a contributing factor and mostly because the incidence of such injections is comparable to the incidence of adverse reactions. We can and should certainly ask why not try aspiration in case intravascular injection contributes to the problem, it's another to claim it's the best thing since sliced bread and stop the problem altogether. Overselling your request with unproven declarations is the surest way to generate resistance to your request as we saw with Hydro chloroquine and Ivermectin. You don't want to push an option into public ridicule before it can actually be investigated.

According to a lot of people, it's a generation divide. Old school method was taught to everyone, until recently (2010s ish? 2015?). Because according to the "new data," getting into a blood vessel is rare and not serious enough, and would waste a good dose-costing money.

    • @simonwhite8836

It isn't "forgotten". The policy for deltoid IM injections is to not aspirate, in most cases.
I could tell you why if I were a doctor working in that field.
I'm a retired computer tech with plenty of time and reading skills so I could try to look up the answer. I have a little medical knowledge and am far smarter than most people. So I won't waste my time. I've been around doctors a lot and respect their competence.
For a non-expert to try to second-guess actual experts in their field of expertise is foolishness at best. But in the current environment, it is likely worse.

Watching this again, makes me want to cry again, knowing the pain it's caused for people the world over, and yet people refuse to change.

Luckily for me, a senior nurse administered my 1st vaccine, before the vaccine I asked that the syringe was aspirated and she was more than happy to do this. When she aspirated she said there was no blood in the syringe and asked if I saw any blood and if I was happy to proceed (her bedside manner was amazing). Whilst waiting for the initial first few mins after the vaccine, she asked why I wanted it aspirated and I spoke about how the vaccine is for intra-muscular use only and by aspirating the syringe it eliminated the very rare chance of striking a vein or artery in the deltoid muscle. She then said that a team of anesthesiologists had come through and requested aspiration for the very same reason. Waiting for vaccine no.2 and will not get it if my request for aspiration is denied.

If even 10% of the resources we wasted on this virus were spent on eradicating illegal drugs (open border), gangs and a tougher criminal justice system we’d have saved countless lives. Why can’t mandates be laid out for folks to have cards listing their criminal history so that establishments can decide whom should enter their premises. We could demand all those with gang affiliations be treated as antivaxxers, and the same goes for anyone selling drugs or anyone having a single violent conviction. Wonder how our country would look like then?

Another example of double standards when it comes to all the relevant topics at hand. On the one hand some things are being approved with the justification of it potentially being a means to help reduce the number of people who are hospitalized, all done so expediently in comparison to any practice ever seen in the field to date. On the other hand, something as "simple" as this (excuse the use of this term) that "could prevent side effects and harm to humans" is being questioned. Dare I say, it is not being implemented expediently as per the same justification used to approve and implement the initial medicines that have not had the years of testing prior to being implemented.
As you stated very clearly between the lines "our governing bodies will need to be held responsible for such double standards".

A new report with detailed data from Public Health England provides some startling numbers. For the period of February 1 through August 2, there were COVID Delta variant cases for 47,000 people who had received 2 vaccine doses, and for 151,054 people who were unvaccinated.
In the first group of vaccinated people, there were a total of 402 deaths. In the second much larger group with more than three times unvaccinated people, there were just 253 deaths.
To get the death rate you divide the number of deaths by the total number of infection cases. That gives a death rate of .86 percent among the vaccinated and .17 percent among the unvaccinated.

I went to receive my first dose of moderna a couple of days ago at a local chemist.
My polite request for aspiration was met with refusal so I walked out and went to our city's large vaccination center.
I asked to speak with a senior nurse, explained my concerns and she was quite accommodating, although her role was to coordinate the other nurses there she was happy to administer my shot herself - correctly (you would've been proud of her)
The following day took my 17yo son there, upon his registration at the center I asked to speak with the same nurse, she asked around and found another experience senior nurse who would comply and directed us to wait outside her booth with instructions to ignore all other staff members (all amid some very disapproving stares from them - I suppose we weren't behaving like the compliant sheep as expected)
It all went smoothly and I watched as she correctly and skillfully administered the vaccine.
Thanks again John, you're doing a great job.

Hi John I'm a retired registered nurse who trained in the mid 1980's in the UK. Prior to becoming an RGN I worked in medical research facilities. The majority of my clinical practise was in A&E, high dependency units and intensive care units for the first 20 years of my 30 year career. As you can imagine I spent a good deal of time training junior members of staff and student nurses. I also worked for St John Ambulance Brigade and the Red Cross as a trainer/examiner so that I have experience of trying to give best practise training to those without the background knowledge and experience to evaluate their own practise.
'In my day' it was standard practise to aspirate when giving intramuscular injection and frankly were I giving these vaccinations I would do it as a matter of course, I would have no issue giving a defence of my actions based upon experience and training - ie I can self-evaluate my practise. The question is: Are the volunteers giving vaccinations so instructed? Even though I hate to have to say it, cost effective practise is a consideration outside of ideal practise. Teaching someone to aspirate an IM injection is easy, teaching them what to do in the event of a blood flashback is not quite so easy... not impossible.. but not a negligible concern when considering the expected workload.
    Playing devil's advocate here:
If a patient was asking specifically for me to aspirate I would simply ask.. 'Would that make you feel more comfortable taking the vaccine?' If the answer is yes and since there is no contra-indication to aspiration I would then advise that in the very unlikely possibility of blood flashback I would have to withdraw the needle and re-administer at another injection site (this potentially raises infection control issues - discussed later) thus warning them of the possible change to expected outcome. One small prick while you look away and it's done versus having to take time to talk to them about the very tiny possibility of two needles and seeing their own blood in the syringe because they are checking if I did aspirate, all while others are watching and listening. A factor in concordance is also that I want them going home or to work and telling everyone 'Oh it was easy, done in seconds and out'.. not... 'Oh my God! He spent 10 minutes explaining all the possible rare occurrences... just in case and there were lines of people getting frustrated an annoyed outside!
This adoption of universal aspiration would possibly not lend itself to 'speed training' and speed administration to large volumes of people, this is not an attempt to abrogate responsibility for good practise rather simply pointing out the cost benefit of the sheer rarity of accidental intravascular administration and the incidence of adverse reaction even in those cases of accidental intravascular administration. I have given many tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of IM injections, I can't remember ever having had a blood flashback, what I can say from training the public is that they tend to remember what they have seen on TV before they remember what you told them once in a training session. How many times have you seen a syringe drawn up and it's contents sprayed into the air on TV? If I was training volunteers I know this would be one of my main areas of concern. Trust is an important factor, imagine if out of the blue the person administering the vaccine said to the person sat nervously waiting to get it over with.. Sorry I have to give you that one again. Imagine if you saw that and you were the next in line?
I'm sure the cost of discarding the initial vaccine syringe after blood flashback and opening a new one for a new administration site would not be considered prohibitive, changing the needle even less so, but the practise of simply taking the needle out and shoving it back in at another site would require some amount of training in injection site safety regarding potential needle contamination and the safe handling of a now potentially blood-borne vector in that syringe which could be accidentally sprayed into the environment by improper handling. Generally patients don't like needles, they probably wouldn't like to be injected twice. There is a psychological aspect to best practise, it is not completely unheard of for a patient to pass out at seeing their own blood... or even just a needle. Volunteers already have to absorb a fair quantity of more likely scenario information in the ?short time? allotted for training.
Is it likely that the practise of aspiration was abandoned because of it being so rare meant the extra time taken to advise of the possibility of alternate site re-injection might likely cause the patient more distress and confusion and raise the risk of improper administration by failure to adhere to best infection control practise and/or the need for extra time training those administering the vaccine in such infection control practise edge cases. You feature those who ask for aspiration, what about those who don't and aren't expecting the possibility of two needles when they were shaking at the knees at the thought of just one? it takes longer to train someone to deal with a potentially anxious person than to train them to just stick a needle in as quickly as possible.
I have watched your videos and found them to be an invaluable source of information over the last few months and for that I thank you very much, sincerely, but I would like you to consider when you read the somewhat triumphant testimonies of those telling you they had it out with the professionals administering vaccinations at speed, that although they were statistically at no higher risk of adverse reaction than anyone else walking through the door they took perhaps 3 - 5 times longer to deal with, at least one of them is rather pleased with the idea that he drew a crowd and caused a fuss in a hospital, how many people walked out of that hospital deciding not to get vaccinated because of that 'fuss', we'll never know. I'm sure you could extrapolate the ramifications of that... Would the rate of vaccination slowdown have been worth it given the tiny amount of adverse reactions if your advice to viewers had been taken en masse and significant numbers of them slowing down vaccination rates? I understand the professionalism of giving optimal service and advice, and you are to be commended for your dedication to it, but I ask you please try to view the people doing the spade work on the ground more sympathetically. It was the worst of times.
My personal feeling: Aspirate and have at least one clinically trained person to supervise at all sites. Is that practicable? I don't know, I wasn't the one making the decisions or the arrangements to vaccinate tens of millions of people in a very short time period in manner never attempted before. The two people who administered my vaccinations at my local small pharmacy were not trained professionals. I wasn't the one testing volunteer training methodology and advising the government on it. You have the benefit of hindsight, they didn't, they had no idea that thrombocytopaenia was a risk when they devised and organised that training in this very specific use case scenario of mRNA vaccine administration. Did it go as planned? What are the findings of any internal reviews? What were the rates of vaccination administration per minute? How many of those administrations would have not passed 'in hospital' acceptable practise for professionals standard?
In my view these are not considerations for an emergency, they are something to reflect on after the fact once the desperate work has been done. Let's not forget it was an amazing triumph of coordination and cooperation from top to bottom in less than ideal circumstances with many thousands of people, volunteers and professionals alike, knowing that they put their own safety at risk for the benefit of all. I have worked in many hospitals around the UK and I have the utmost respect and gratitude for the highly trained dedicated professionals who are part of infection control teams who have through sheer hard work and dedication changed outcomes for an untold number of patients and saved a lot of healthcare staff's lives in the last 30 years. If they saw a good reason to dispense with the need to aspirate on standard IM drug administration I'm absolutely sure it was based on years of evidence based practise taking into account all factors and in consultation with all concerned agencies including the HSE. This very edge case scenario of a relatively few adverse reactions to the vaccine came of of the blue barely a few months ago.
Hopefully future training will be at a slower pace and build on that which came before, perhaps this would be a way to approach the government and it's attitude to aspiration and best clinical practise? You have people in your comments section questioning medical and nursing practise based solely on this very small edge case scenario, I know that adverse reaction to 'standard drugs in hospital' due to accidental intravascular administration was vanishingly rare when compared to the number of accidental needlestick injuries to staff. I can see perfectly good and valid reasons to drop aspiration for IM injection in standard clinical practise training - pre-pandemic

Dear John, how interesting that Denmark 🇩🇰 again acts as a good example. It was Denmark that was instrumental in getting insulin needle lengths changed - in order to avoid insulin going into a muscle and absorbed too rapidly and causing hypoglycaemia in a person with diabetes. The needles used caused life-threatening severe hypos especially in a lean person like a young child. Those of us diabetes specialists who tried to change this practice faced a lengthy and antagonistic period - but it lead to a complete change of the insulin injection protocol, supported by Becton & Dickinson (leading needle manufacturer). Of course, now in insulin pumps the needle is absolutely minuscule and ensures subcutaneous delivery of insulin as indicated by the drug manufacturers. My driving impetus came from having a four-year old child, our youngest daughter, experiencing the vagaries of such oblivious practice. Thank you so much, John! When I go to get my booster dose, I will request the person to aspirate before injecting!

I was reading a cdc guidance about vaccination procedure. It said there is no need to aspirate but then when questioned about what to do if the nurse aspirated and blood shows up it said the vaccine must be discarded resulting in a waste of expensive vaccine which could have been avoided if the nurse didn't aspirate. Lol it’s not a vaccine for starters. I would say that contributes a fair bit towards so called “vaccine hesitancy”. If it was a vaccine and prevented infection as well as transmission, the uptake would have been overwhelming. As it stands we have a treatment here that essentially does nothing AND comes with additional risks, that is being pushed on us via 24/7 fear p0rn.

      riddle me this....
Imagine an athlete.... for the first time, succumbs to the pressure of his corrupt coach and agree to taking an anabolic steroid injection to 'up his game' a little bit.
The coach performs a PERFECT intramuscular injection..... aspirated properly.
A few days later... this ill advised athlete gets called in for a blood test and a urine sample.
Do you think this athlete is testing positive for steroids in his blood and his piss?..... OF COURSE HE IS!
The steroids.... injected intramuscularly....are now in the blood.... in the lymph.... passing through the kidneys and the liver.... passing through the heart.... and throughout the ENTIRE system.
The athlete is DEFINITELY failing his blood test...that's for SURE.
So please Don't fall for this red herring.... this smoke screen.... to pass the blame for a toxic product.... from the manufacturers ONTO the administrators.
The product gets into the blood..... end of story.
And it's toxic to the blood.... capillaries and organs.
Some people can handle the toxicity.... and some people can't.
Some people will present with symptoms immediately..... and some people may take longer.... or may be lucky.
But many will be unlucky..... and that's NOT on.

I found it interesting that they stopped using the Astrazeneca vaccine in Canada because it rarely happens (and it seemed to be predominantly younger females) in favour of Pfizer mRNA. But then the down-played the rarity of the Pfizer issues. I say "follow the money". Astrazeneca is so much cheaper. The big Pharma puts lots of $$$ into their marketing spins.
