As someone who's been into the Warhams for nigh-on two decades and change, I admit I was worried that the ingame codices and lore entries would be incomplete for newbies. Sure, they seemed plenty informative to me, but I was always wondering about whether I was subconsciously filling in blanks with what I already knew. It's great to see that the info was genuinely useful to a complete newbie!
But I admit, I am more grateful that you've decided to show off the Triumphs and Darkest Hours, hah! 😆Thanks, Slandered! I know it might have little to no impact on how things shape up mechanically, but having those in mind certainly helps people (or well, me at least) get into the headspace of my character- I certainly have a clearer idea of how and why my planned Psyker character will act now, thanks to you!

high initial learning curve is a trademark of crpgs. glad owlcat is aware of that and has taken measures to educate new players just in the game itself.

Very very intriguied by this game. Loved bg3 and kingmaker. Brand new to warhammer 40k. With the amount of post-release love owlcat showed for the first 2 pathfinder games bods well for this.
Yup I definitely see them supporting this for a similar stretch of time.
Oh yay a detailed combat log. I like seeing the mechanics, especally when there's an actual TTRPG serving as, um, inspiration. I liked the ones in Solasta and BG3. This one looks more detailed...if you want it, or just summary If you prefer that, or none if that's your bag.

Too bad the in game encyclopedia is useless to me after I've read a 150+ 40K Black Library novels xD. Glad OC included it for newcomers to the lore though.

@@lufasumafalu5069 Nonsense? There are hundreds of Warhammer 40K novels, short stories, audiodramas, supplaments and etc out there to devour. You obviously have no idea how expansive 40k's lore is which is way more than just the tabletop wargame.

Owlcat did a great job introducing the lore in the Pathfinder games (especially WotR) so I have no doubt they'll do the same in Rogue Trader. For me, part of the joy of encountering a new world is watching the lore unfold and slowly be revealed to you. It was one of my favourite parts of reading Dune.

Yup there are romances.
You know what I dont understand... So we got some ability that gives you X something using formula... so it looks like "Enemies suffer - (5+2x(Grand Stratregist INT + FEL bonus) Ballistic Skill... and so on" Why does it needs to look so intimidating? Why not write it like "Enemies suffer - 20 damage, and so on..."", but 20 is in Yellow color which means its a link to a tooltip and inside this tooltip we see that this 20 is (5+2x(Grand Stratregist INT + FEL bonus) Ballistic Skill... you get what I mean, right? :) Basically show people result, and if they want to see how they get this result they can just click on a number and see entire formula. WotR did something like this but only for damage\DC checks I think, and in combat log which was... well, not the most convenient if its a huge fight :)
Im a huge WH 40k fan, wasnt originaly excited about ANOTHER turn based WH 40k game. Since then i got back into CRPGs and have played tons of the Pathfinder games. Now I'm excited for this game since I think Owlcat is probably the best CRPG dev out there atm.,

I have been so immersed in the 40k cult -- no joke, for like more than 30 years -- that it is a trip to see people approaching it from zero with an analytical lens with the eye to a proper understanding of the lore. And that gives you the chance to see how fucking batshit the whole thing is! (Sure, they stole the term "god emperor" from Dune, but somehow they made an insane, undying worm-man-mutant the size of a 747 LESS crazy than the Emperor of Mankind from 40K.)
I cannot wait to delve more into the lore!

I've done some voice acting in some of my earlier content and really looking forward to doing it in Rogue Trader. One day maybe I'll be able to lend my talents in other areas.
I'm one of those people who think the character creator here is more intimidating than Pathfinder. I was somewhat familiar with DnD so it wasn't too bad for me to get into the Pathfinder games.
