oh no....poor little Billy's rec basketball team didn't win...lets blame the YMCA supervisor for the loss, I bet he had money on the game....it's gotta be his fault somehow....there wen't Billy's chance to go pro....
There's some confusion below so here's what I think is happening here. The adult on the far side of the court is not a coach. He's a ref, just not wearing the stripes for some reason. There must have been a timekeeper issue on the previous play because the clock does not start on the inbounds. You can see the far side ref with his arm raised. He drops it just as the ball handler makes it to half court. That's the signal to start the clock. My guess is the clock ran too long after the last play so the ref delayed the restart. Then the score keeper gives the three pointer to the wrong team. You can see at 1 min that the score is changed to 35-33. The 3 pointer was in fact a game winning buzzer beater shot. I think the parents must be upset about the clock and whatever happened on the previous play because even 1 second difference changes that game. Not to justify it. They are acting like fools. But hopefully this helps decipher the video.
I didn't consider why they were arguing so that is helpful. I thought he wanted more playing time (for his is son). 😬 It still is crazy bc it's a child's game and the parents are crying.
Thanks for the clarification. Maybe if the ref would have just put the time back on the clock, it would have gone better. I've reffed many games like this where the scorekeeper is just some volunteer from one of the teams, and often doesn't do a very good job.

This is why the 14 years I coached baseball, I coached the parents first. God love their passion, but most of them are newbies when it comes to watching their kids compete. Parents of multiple kids tend to be more experienced in letting things go, but first timers sometimes need to know its ok to lose, ok to suck and ok to learn something from it. These kids aren’t playing for a big trophy, they’re playing for fun. If I was one of those refs I would give them only one answer “I’m not talking to you”
As my 2 boys grew up, I coached baseball, basketball and football for about 15 years total. Some parents were the worst. Being I was in the military during most of that time, I had no tolerance for any bad behavior towards any kids, refs, opposing coaches or me. I told the parents at the beginning of the season, I had no problem having a game stopped and them leave the premises if they got out of line. In all those years, I only had one problem and it was from an opposing kids father. The idiot actually followed me to the parking lot. My wife saw it and called the police so I didn't have to have a fight in front of the kids.
As a teenager I once volunteered to fill in for two absent referees for a grade school age boys basketball game. I did the best I job I could as these games are chaos incarnate. Parents from both sides were booing, protesting and screaming insults from the jump! It got so bad that I stopped the game and gave the entire group a lecture on sportsmanship and manners. I must have been in a zone because they collectively shaped up and the game continued without further trouble. After the game they passed the hat and approached me with sincere apologies and a wad of cash. This was the mid 1980’s. Parents haven’t don’t seem to have changed much.
Sad when these parents are trying to relive their Al Bundy high school days vicariously through their kids. My sons elementary school basketball team played in an inter-faith league and one particular game the parents of a Catholic Church team were so desperate to out cheer a bunch of elementary aged kids that they took to yelling and screaming during free throws and telling derogatory words towards our sons team on the floor. It was a sad day for the Catholic Church. Coach was thrown out for actually approaching my sons team on the floor and yelling at the bench for cheering Defense! BTW, they lost.
I witnessed this event, which might outdo the one you posted >>> two christian schools are playing a football game, see , and the home team is behind, and the cheerleaders are doing their best, but then Mrs Mommyboss leaves the bleachers, goes in front of the cheerleaders, tells the girls to watch her, and the Mommyboss starts doing cheers and screaming at the crowd to show enthusiasm. The cheerleaders were very embarassed by this, and Mommyboss was at least 36 years old and overweight ! hahahahhaaaaa and I'm rolling with laughter at the absurdity of it, but I did wish there had been some Security to remove her from the cheerleader zone and put her back in the bleachers, or off the property.
the score board says "32 "home" and "36 "away" so im guessing the kid that hit the 3 pointer we see is on the "away" team correct?so the away team won by 4 POINTS and would have won by 1 point without the last 3 pointer made correct?why argue about it?the away team was going to win by 1 or by 3 = it dont matte the away team had the lead even before the last shot.
mmeatheaddd no. The scorer gave points to the wrong team. The score before the shot was 32-33, home team down. Then the shot for the win to make it 35-33 for home team. At 1:02 you see the final score. I’m guessing some parents weren’t looking at the score and didn’t see the accidental adding of points to their team so we’re mad when they were taken away. I am being nice here. I realize in actuality the parents were being asses.
I think that’s why the parents were mad. The team with the ball was already winning, and the boy didn’t need to shoot at all. Instead of shooting, he should have held the ball to run out the clock. ( for 10 year olds, I don’t agree with this, but would be considered poor sportsmanship later in their years )
I the parents are mad because the score keeper did not start the clock right away. At the beginning of video you see clock is stopped at 10 secs when kid dribbles across half court.
as a former ref, i was always taught, after the game, to get the heck away asap, as half the crowd was against you. those parents will always ruin a great game!
I've said it a million times. Parents should not be allowed within 500yds of any youth sporting contests. Our BS rules and regulations suck the everliving fun out of the game for the kids. They are kids, just let them play.
After a football game I had a parent saying “shameful” to me on my way out and I shouldn’t have said anything but I turned around and said “it’s not my fault your team can’t stop one player” To put that into context, the pissed parent’s team kept getting burned by the same running back play after player to the point I was saying it’s going to him
I think the scorekeeper initially added 3 points to the wrong team... at first, the final score was 36-32, but at the 2:28 mark the scoreboard was changed to 35-33. So the basket was the winning basket.
I've seen this sad 😞 kind of event at my school games. Little league baseball, Jr varsity basketball, volley ball! These parents are trying to live through the kids. My message to them. You lost the big game in the 80's!!! Let them play for themselves!!!
Amazing! The one's arguing can't play a lick of basketball! And why are they arguing anyway? Every kid in the league is gonna get a trophy no matter how good or how suck a team is anyway!
Good point ! Can't have a peaking order, gotta make the sorriest kid feel like he's just as good as the best kid! Surprised they even kept score. Wussification of America.
Steven A at least the sports team is real, you can see it, touch it, feel it! Steven you should just send a check to your pastor! I hear he needs a new Learjet!
Then file a complaint with the director of the youth league. I mean, c'mon man...it's just a fucking youth league basketball game. And you weren't even there. An your kids weren't playing in that game. Get over it, will you?
I love the it’s a youth sport argument. People have no idea the hard work and dedication some kids and parents put into this. This guy took it too far yes, but the time and effort that goes in sometimes is great. Winning is a huge boost to kids confidence and sense of worth. It’s heart breaking to see them lose. I coach football, 2nd grade. Just lost today in the final round of playoffs. Every boy crying, and some coaches choked up. A lot goes into this, big part of these kids lives.
When I used to coach I heard this saying and it’s so true. “The best team to coach is a team of orphans!”

That “parent” has never made a shot, swung a bat, or done athletic in his life.
Hey... hey... hey... i need to live my dream through my kid!!! We can't lose!!!!!
Despite your angry parents, that was a nice shot!
It's all about parenting. Can't wait to see how their kids turn out when their grown.
Hopefully they're smart enough to see how ridiculous their father/parents are and use it as motivation to not be that way
As a teenager I once volunteered to fill in for two absent referees for a grade school age boys basketball game.
Some parents are mental when it comes to sport. When I was playing tennis there is always some parent at the fence yelling and screaming at us.
Later that night
Mommy why is daddy sleeping downstairs
The previous week these parents were on Jerry Springer.
I think he upset because the clock didnt move as the kid brought it up to score. 10.00 seconds
Thanks. I was wondering what they were arguing about. I couldn't see the clock.
This generation of young parents are the worst! They think everyone needs a trophy
Parents sit down and stop making it about you because it’s not about you it’s about them having fun with their peers
( for 10 year olds, I don’t agree with this, but would be considered poor sportsmanship later in their years )
Did you not see the reply above you, that makes more sense
I the parents are mad because the score keeper did not start the clock right away. At the beginning of video you see clock is stopped at 10 secs when kid dribbles across half court.
@@iamshafe nah we were losing that was the game winner 😎
Nothin but a jagaloon deadbeat dad who ran outta beer at half time an couldnt find his keys to go get more !!
Man, the lady that put her finger right the guys face, that really triggered me lol
Imagine being this upset over a children's basketball game. What a bunch of dolts.
0:13 kid in white celebrated even though it wasn't his team that scored lmao
Last year two grandfathers fought at my seven-year-old’s baseball game
Ol timers fighting. Classic
Unreal.
Terrible!!
I'd like to see that, is it on UA-cam
That dad’s still losing
The ref is trying to get to his car .. he’s got a blunt waiting for him 😂
as a former ref, i was always taught, after the game, to get the heck away asap, as half the crowd was against you. those parents will always ruin a great game!
Really ! How low class they are ! It's about the kids having fun and good sportsmanship !
omg, I can't wait to see the parents go to the McDonald drive thru to order a quarter pounder?!
The girls would be done player by the time they finish debating.
Great shot youngster. That's the only thing worth discussing that I seen in this video. Little dude chunked it from downtown and nailed it.
You notice the kids don't even care that they lost. I cannot STAND parents that act like this. They must know what they are teaching their children.
3:05 where is the kid on the lefts hair line???
I've said it a million times. Parents should not be allowed within 500yds of any youth sporting contests. Our BS rules and regulations suck the everliving fun out of the game for the kids. They are kids, just let them play.
Agreed.
I think you have an excellent idea. In fact, I'd take it a bit further and say that parents ruin kids, kids don't ruin themselves.
After a football game I had a parent saying “shameful” to me on my way out and I shouldn’t have said anything but I turned around and said “it’s not my fault your team can’t stop one player”
To put that into context, the pissed parent’s team kept getting burned by the same running back play after player to the point I was saying it’s going to him
Even if I were a parent on the losing side I would have to go over and congratulate that kid who made the game winning shot!! That was awesome!!!
This is why I have one of my kids in band and the other one playing the violin. Not to much violence there lol.
36-32. Won by 4! What’s the problem
They still lost if he didn't make it. 33 to 32
I think the scorekeeper initially added 3 points to the wrong team... at first, the final score was 36-32, but at the 2:28 mark the scoreboard was changed to 35-33. So the basket was the winning basket.
Thanks for clearing that up I was here all confused wondering why the defensive team wasn't intentionally fouling if they were down
None of those people complaining ever played competitively. 😂🤣😂🤣
Yeah cause it's the kids with dads like that they go anywhere.....
I've seen this sad 😞 kind of event at my school games. Little league baseball, Jr varsity basketball, volley ball! These parents are trying to live through the kids. My message to them. You lost the big game in the 80's!!! Let them play for themselves!!!
LMAO 2:46 the dude in the back just watching like what the hell is going on
Amazing! The one's arguing can't play a lick of basketball! And why are they arguing anyway? Every kid in the league is gonna get a trophy no matter how good or how suck a team is anyway!
aint that the sad truth.
Good point ! Can't have a peaking order, gotta make the sorriest kid feel like he's just as good as the best kid! Surprised they even kept score. Wussification of America.
@chazbukowski And you must be one those parents who clearly sucks at sports. Oh by the way beer pong is not a sport!
@@qjersey2317 lol probably one of the butthurt parents from that team that probably cost them their trip to the Olympics 😂
@@iamkazie9401 😂😆😂😆
This is what happens when you worship sports more than worshipping the Lord.
It’s a child’s game and Your children are watching You.
Steven A at least the sports team is real, you can see it, touch it, feel it! Steven you should just send a check to your pastor! I hear he needs a new Learjet!
Amen!!
Sports are far better than religion. People argue about sports, but they kill and hate each other when infected with religion.
Lol yeah, better find a way to bring the “lord” into this somehow
Nigga I'm Christian but even I think Jesus face Palmer to your comment lmao
Clock didn't start in time. The kids walking the ball up the court an the clock isn't running
Then file a complaint with the director of the youth league. I mean, c'mon man...it's just a fucking youth league basketball game. And you weren't even there. An your kids weren't playing in that game. Get over it, will you?
@@rayjr62.. whoa calm down bud
Tysons Accosta yeah. SJN makes a good point.
@@mitchjones2821 by the looks of it this is a Middle School team, they maybe practice a total of 2 hours a week?
Are we just not going to talk about the stright awesome shot that young gentlemen just made? Way to go young sir! This is just SAD.
2:47: Coach in the background (white jacket) be like "Damn, these Karens and Terrys are out of control!"
