Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!! Just want to say thank you for subscribing to my channel! Your support means the world to me. I read every comment although I don't always have time to respond 🙏 Thanks for watching my videos 😁
Hello Jordan, love to see your contents again! I got a blue belt just in February, it means that I follow your channel since I was a white belt. Blue belt blues is real, but I think in analogy that, okay, in a university called jiu-jitsu, I become just a sophomore and I have to study hard to pass junior and senior year before I become a bachelor. So I think I have to put more focus on study more and more. Hope to watch your good contents again along my jiu-jitsu journey!
That’s amazing! What a way to get your blue belt. And it also shows the crazy levels of ability between a black belt and a white/ blue belt the fact that he can roll and tie his new belt on at the same time. 🙏🙏
This made me cry. My coach surprised me with my blue belt this month as well. Got into a motorcycle accident after thanksgiving and wasn’t able to test with my class. On crutches he pulled me out of the crowd to get mine. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to work for.
I'm 37 and have been doing Jiu Jitsu with my 16 year old for 2 years. It's the greatest bonding experience a father can have with his son, in my opinion. We don't take it easy on each other, but the care is always there. So much trust and respect for each other on the mats. Love the video!

Oh believe me, there was a lot of emotions. 2021 had proven to be an extremely challenging year and this was just what I needed. I'm just glad Patrina didn't zoom in on my face. 48 years old at the time and that blue belt represents some of the hardest, most challenging experiences of my life.
Why was this emotional for me? I guess because when you see someone show so much resilience and get rewarded for their perseverance, it’s amazing to witness.
It had been an extremely difficult year for many reasons. That night was my first night back after having been stuck in isolation due to covid exposure. While our household was in lockdown, we missed out on (arguably the biggest) grading night ever; heartbreaking not getting to be there for all my friends and training partners and celebrate in accomplishments. Jordans got a heart of gold and this video's message speaks to it. He made sure that while we missed out on the grading night, he would make this something special. And did he ever. We'd been talking lots back and forth for months of a commentary roll video and that night he asked me if I was down for it/ready. This is the result. The highlight of my year.
Wow what an awesome way to present a blue belt to a dedicated Student. I also got my Blue belt two weeks ago. I won my gym's in house tournament and just like Brad it was an emotional experience. All the hard work dedication and to showing up to classes, drill techniques, working out...it really did paid off. Gratz to the newly promoted blue belts and happy holidays! OSS
The moment you wrapped his belt around him in the midst of the struggle really hit hard with me. 👊🏽❤️ With struggle comes growth……but not if you give up. Thankyou for the videos and the amazing content.
I'm 50 yrs old, 3 stripes white belt, 2.5 years training but with many, many intervals. Covid restrictions (so, no training for months and months), fingers injured, back injured, neck injured, knee injured, all in the first year or so. ANYWAY, this is by far the MOST inspiring video for me to continue and not give up. This video actually inspires me to train, not so much harder, but more consistently. I have been subscribed for about two weeks and have learned a lot already. Truly appreciate the effort, and I hope you will stay safe and healthy.
This was my second year as a high school teacher. I had some of the kids I taught last year come to tell me about the universities they were going to next year, and to thank me for supporting them through some tough times. Feels good, man. Thanks for your great content. I have seen a lot of improvement in my BJJ from tips you have given (especially grips). Also, congratulations to the fellahs on getting their blue belts!
What a great idea, a special way to get your blue belt. Thanks for the tip about grabbing the leg when going for the arm bar from mount. I just saw it last night in one of your videos and hit it at training shortly after!
That was a great night, glad to be there to see it! My greatest achievement this year is my blue belt progress and being Uki sometimes on the channel. Ive seen the 3rd nipple folks!!!! Its a real thing.
So cool. I love the struggle in BJJ. I always explain to my daughter that you still growing on days that you feel like you completely suck. It's okay to take a break, too. But never quit! Keep grinding! BJJ teaches so many cool lessons outside of grappling
What a great way to receive a blue belt! Incredible work and awesome videos! I’m binge watching them to strengthen my weak aspects and sharpen my strengths
Now THIS is how to get better! I wish more instructors did this and actually pointed out why you were caught in this, or why you should have done that instead. I been out about 7 years now from serious injury and looking to start up again. Perfect video to review what rookie mistakes to remember and watch out for.
Sitting at home with CoVid and not training. What a great positive video to uplift the spirit. I hope we get to see this same fella get his Purple in a few years.
Oh my heart! What a sweet way to give Brad his blue belt! Thank you for the great channel, it felt great seeing it grow from a few hundred people to over 40K! Much deserved success. As a 3 stripe white belt, my biggest achievement in BJJ in 2021 was finally truly internalizing that belts and winning rounds don't really matter at this point. I started to work on concepts and trying to learn good behaviours, retain guard, improve my position, slow down, make sure I have control first instead of trying to go fast and go for submissions. Funny enough the % of successful sweeps and attacks went up as a byproduct of focusing on good habits and positioning. I would just find myself in a better spot more often to try things.
Thanks for being around since nearly the start! I wanted to bad to make my early subscribers proud :) Glad you focused on all that! The way to get better isn't to become a technique library. It's to get good at the small stuff!
Big goals for me were to get a blue belt in BJJ and starting a UA-cam Channel! I just received my blue belt last week and the channel is growing slowly but surely!✊
Your voice helps me focus on what you're actually explaining. The funny comments are entertaining. I'm a blue belt and I was glad to hear you mention how sometimes blue belts struggle with white belts and higher blue belts. That's the story of my life. Thanks for video.
49 year old no stripe white belt here. I can not afford gas to go to train Jiu Jitsu let alone pay $100 a month for classes so youtube is the only way I can train. Thank you for the commentary and the rolling with the lower belts it puts things in perspective for us newbs.
Yup! That was me. The year leading up to that had been incredibly difficult and at one point I didn't even know if I'd ever get to train again - fortunate, I came out on top in that. Then, because of Covid, we missed the big grading night and I was devastated - missed seeing and supporting so many friends and their accomplishments..... About two weeks later in class Jordan asked if I wanted to do a video with him that night. The rest is history. And yes, I'm still there, religiously
Man I never been so hype over this! I wanted to jump through the screen and celebrate with y’all! One blue belt to another, welcome to the club homie🤙🏿
Good stuff brotha! My 8 year old and I started together over 4 years ago and my 5 year old learned how to walk on the mat there at 9 months old. Rolling with my daughter gives me a high every time so I started coaching the kids program about 6 months ago. This past weekend I was able to promote my 5 year old son from white to grey/white-his first promotion obviously. Definitely one of the coolest moments of my life. A dad promoting his kids is an experience that is hard to beat. Keep up the good work!!
first congratulations to the coach, who deserves respect not only for the black belt but for having a wise eye and who knows how hard he works and when to get the next belt. I trained BJJ for 4 years, I saw the gift of belts without effort and knowledge in myself. And buying for 50 euros. This way you gave the blue belt deserves great respect and congratulations to the winner of the belt. He deserved it with his work.
I knew he would get the blue belt when you said there would be a surprise at the end, but that was very special! That must have really caught him by surprise! Beautiful moment!
my father and i started jiu jitsu together 4 months ago, its been so fun getting better together and challenging each other! i hope we can share getting promoted to blue belt together some day like this!
I’ve had a very rough jitz journey and never cared about watching jitz vidz. But somehow I stumbled upon your channel a couple weeks ago and I can’t imagine not watching this channel. You have great content and from a reformed jitz hater, this video sealed the deal for me and I just love this art so much because of acts like this!! Just amazing. Sorry for being long winded and you’ll probably never see this, but just need to say thank you for what your doing. You’ve motivated me to keep going .
My son and I started jiu jitsu and it’s been such a great foundation and overall lifestyle change. I was a bodybuilder with horrible body image issues and uncomfortable with everything. Jiu jitsu just started for us but we love the environment and how everybody is so uplifting and encouraging.
I'm 30 and my little brother is 24. We both started jiu-jitsu 2 years ago and have just loved every second of it. We have bonded so much and are closer because of it and on December 22nd I was floored when I received my blue belt. But to make it sweeter my bro and I were called up at the same time because we both were getting promoted 🙂 BJJ will be a part of our family forever.
Great vIdeo, and I woulda surely cried if i got my blue belt like that lol. Im in my second week of training and this channel has been quite the gift. Merry Christmas brother!
I just wanted to drop a comment and a like Jordon! I am brown belt judoka and your videos have helped me so much over this past year in martial arts journey since discovering your channel!! Your detailed breakdown, tips for rolling have transformed my standup and my ne waza game to the point where my friends couldn't even recognize me! Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to your future content!
Love your videos. I started training when I was 67 years old. I have to compensate for my physical deficiencies. Your teaching really helps. Best of luck on the channel.
I started bjj about 3 1/2 months ago and I’m obsessed!!! I have my daughters doing it with me as well! I get overwhelmed with all the information and just try and remember it’s not a race, but a journey. It’s such a beautiful martial art. Thank you for sharing :) made me teary eyed. Congratulations guys!!!
I can't stress the greatness of having the opportunity to train with both of my children. You will grow a bond with your daughters like no other. Enjoy the journey, experience or whatever moniker you apply to the lifestyle of practicing jiu-jitsu. Brad
This is so heartwarming to see. I took my very first BJJ class on saturday, and I am so excited to get into it and start progressing. I love the level of respect shown in this video, and my experience from my first class was one of respectfully having my butt kicked from start to finish. I'll definitely try to be a T-rex for tomorrow's class
Most important thing is that you took your first step onto the mats. Good for you! Set yourself very small goals; My initial goal was to make it/last one month, then last 2, then six......all of a sudden, I had stripe......then 2........then make to a year........ Here I am now, blue belt and with 4 stripes. When looking back, I never thought I'd make it this far and long. It's been a beautiful ride full of highs and lows but I've met some incredible people along the way - and can honestly consider Jordan a dear friend. I was shaking with exhaustion, my legs were jello, lungs burning and I knew I'd just had my ass whooped (I cringe when I watch this now, seeing all my mistakes lol) but it was one of the greatest feelings of my life. I'll never forget it, will always be grateful and if you knew the entire backstory leading up to that night, you'd understand even more why I was tearing up. Now, keep moving forward. When you feel like you're constantly the nail, night in and night out getting hammered, smashed and dominated, think back to your first night, not the night before. "Fall down seven times, stand up eight"
Thanks Jordan. Just came across this video. I am now a 3 Stripe Brown Belt. When I was a White Belt I wanted to stop after 6 months. The professor I had at the time simply told me "keep rolling." That's all I needed to hear. It's professors like you that keep the sport going strong.
You floated into my feed and I’m very impressed.53 year old Purple belt here and what you did here was fantastic. Love your commentary. It is very informative. By the way….(I have a grandson not w/3 nipples lmao) my son and daughter both are very into jujitsu it’s a family thing…excellent quality videos would love to visit.
You can see off to right corner of the mat both Tyler and my youngest son, Brandon. Yeah, all 3 of train together; greatest thing in the world. BJJ has changed our lives immensely.
This video got me hooked on your channel. Thank you for the great content. I am a 2 stripe white belt. My 10 year old sister is a 4 stripe white belt. My 4 year old son is a 1 stripe white belt. Our journey has just begun and we all truly love the sport. Thank you 🙏
Love it brother. I remember getting my blue belt. I was on a high for a week and soon realised it was just the awakening of the hunger. Lovely roll and great narration.
Hi Jordan. My 11 year has been doing Jiu Jitsu for about 3 years (gray belt), I started my book of jitz about 6 months after him so I can be that parent that understands the struggles he’s undergoing. I finally got my blue belt August 2021 and my professor rolled against me and did the same. I love sharing this journey with my son. 🤙 thank you for your time to make these videos and teaching us a little more details that we might miss. I really focus on T-Rex and 4 points of contact and it’s elevated my guard game.
Biggest achievements were my 4th stripe on my blue belt, my associates degree in college, and a new job in my field of study! 🙌🏼 Here’s to a productive 2022! 🍻
Started BJJ in May. Haven’t been consistent enough to earn a blue belt yet. But I started the journey, which was a big step. Got promoted at work, and have been working on my overall self. Can’t wait to see how next year goes.
Your the BEST BJJ channel on Jordan Jordan we are all proud of you! For me it's living the dream life of being a digital Nomad earning passive income and improving in my BJJ got 2 stripes on the white belt in 2022 it's Blue belt time! What a touch giving man the blue belt whilst destroying him haha.
After watching this video i had to subscribe. Having great mentors is what this sport is all about. My son and I just recently joined our local jiu jitsu school and we’re enjoying this journey together. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Hey man, thank you for the sub! I absolutely agree, having someone you feel comfortable training with is a must... And it's so wonderful that you and your son started training together. Best of luck to you too! 👊
You know, that was honestly the coolest way I’ve ever seen someone get promoted. I love how it was snuck in and you secretly tied it around him! That was awesome. I’d love to stop by your school sometime. 🙏🏽
Great video, loved the putting on the blue belt while rolling. My son is 8 and I'm late 30's and we both started in November last year. Loving seeing how much he's enjoying and developing through it even after only a short period
I'm 51 now when I was 19 I went to Thailand and became obsessed with learning Thai Language. At 47 I started Jiu-jitsu and have been obsessed again only 2 things in 51 years!
What did I achieve this year? One of my last rolls before breaking up for Christmas I did some of the best Jitsu of my life. I’m three stripe white and rolled against a two stripe white, I really paced myself and controlled him well, got a few nice sweeps, he even complimented me that I really controlled the pace of the roll well. I then got absolutely smashed by my brown belt instructor! Good job Jordan, I’ve learned a lot from your videos and I’m glad you’re doing so well with UA-cam 👌
Watching this video I was like...Brad looks pretty good to still be a white belt. Yeah, he's getting worked over but that just shows the class of a black belt so it was cool to see him get promoted in the end. I started and still train with my son and he's a blue belt too so lucky us.
Brown belt from Houston here. Have to say man, this is an excellent channel. Quality and instructions are top notch. Wish I found something like this when I started 12 years ago lol
Merry Christmas! My son and I both started BJJ in April. He had a promotion to yellow belt (he’s 11) 2 weeks ago. I have 2 stripes on my white belt. Was out for 7 weeks with a broken and displaced toe, back for 2 weeks, now I’m out again with covid. Hoping for a year if training without interruption in 2022
Brad here. My youngest also trains with us (he's 14 and also a yellow belt). There's nothing greater than that connection; it has brought the three of us closer together. Rest up, hope your infection passes quick with little complications
Man, my biggest achievement was just last month when I got promoted to blue belt. I definitely feel Brad on being emotional with getting that promotion. I know I was speechless when I got my belt and almost couldn't believe it. I struggled so much the past 2 years mentally in bjj, and my biggest opponent was myself on and off the mats. I have to say, that this has been the most humbling and gratifying journey and I still can't believe I've actually made it to blue belt. I've been lucky enough to make connections with several instructors and their words of encouragement helped me through so much and even when I got my blue belt, their encouragement kept flowing. So, congrats Brad and Tyler! Keep going and stay dedicated!
My son and i started BJJ together last March and he has won a gold and a bronze. He loves your videos and made a small contribution to the "ultimate self defense championship 2" knowing that you will be part of it! We can't wait to see you win the championship in the show!

Big goals for me were to get a blue belt in BJJ and starting a UA-cam Channel! I just received my blue belt last week and the channel is growing slowly but surely!✊
That's awesome man! Congratulations on the bluebelt and starting the channel 🙂
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Thank you and keep making these dope videos!
🥂
Congrats man. How long did it take you?
Your voice helps me focus on what you're actually explaining. The funny comments are entertaining. I'm a blue belt and I was glad to hear you mention how sometimes blue belts struggle with white belts and higher blue belts. That's the story of my life. Thanks for video.
I appreciate that, thank you! Glad that resonated with you 🙂
49 year old no stripe white belt here. I can not afford gas to go to train Jiu Jitsu let alone pay $100 a month for classes so youtube is the only way I can train. Thank you for the commentary and the rolling with the lower belts it puts things in perspective for us newbs.
It seems your priorities are elsewhere
I’m a 25 year old minimum wage felon barely affording my $300/m gym payment
Man that hug at the end! I felt that!
@@beuford23 Awesome! Glad everything worked out and that you are still training!
Parent + child promotions always make me tear up, such a lovely moment.
my father and i started jiu jitsu together 4 months ago, its been so fun getting better together and challenging each other! i hope we can share getting promoted to blue belt together some day like this!
Can I ask have you stuck at it and what level are you at now mate
@@leightonjones1 we both got promoted to blue a year ago and still goin at it! just did my first comp at blue belt a couple weeks ago
You may be surprised by who reads your comments lol
- Brad
This awesome, I seen a lot of mistakes that I make and will definitely be trying to stop doing those. Congrats Brad & Tyler on those blue belts 💪🏾
Me, too...
My son and I started jiu jitsu and it’s been such a great foundation and overall lifestyle change. I was a bodybuilder with horrible body image issues and uncomfortable with everything. Jiu jitsu just started for us but we love the environment and how everybody is so uplifting and encouraging.
This is a phenomenal channel. Awesome video. Love seeing people promoted after hard work and dedication. Thanks for the fantastic content!
Thank you so much 🙏 Merry Christmas!
I took 3rd at the Worlds Masters. Thank you for the videos. Ive used your strategies over and over. Keep up the great work
That's a great accomplishment! Congrats!
I love these types of videos. The jiu jitsu community is so wholesome. Glad I picked it up
I gotta do this again sometime!
Merry Christmas to You and all bjj practitioners! Thank You for your amazing videos
Thank you so much 🙏 Merry Christmas! 😁
Been doing ju jitsu for 4 months now, & been watching your UA-cam videos religiously, tremendous help, thank you!
Keep up the great work jordan! Your videos have really helped me improve my jiujitsu. I hope you have a great christmas with your family man.
Glad to hear it man. Makes me really happy to make an impact. Merry Christmas 🙏👊🎄
Best on UA-cam
What a special & memorable way to promote! Congratulations Gents!
Great vIdeo, and I woulda surely cried if i got my blue belt like that lol. Im in my second week of training and this channel has been quite the gift. Merry Christmas brother!
Glad you think so! Merry Christmas brother 🙏🙂
Awww. Totally cool. Congratz to your new blue belts. And yeah, the struggle is real.
Such a great way to close out the year on the channel. Congrats to the new blue belts and Merry Christmas to everyone
Very touching way to give a blue belt!
Absolutely love the way you gave Brad his belt. I never would think to do a thing like that while rolling.
I was super excited all week to do it like this. Super cool hell have a video to always look back on for the rest of his life 🙂
That was a classic! Thanks, Coach! As a blue, I know how much that must have meant to my man...
Great way to give out that belt and icing on the cake is the son got it same day. You can tell in that bro hug he's very appreciative.
It was a great day! They are a very talented family!
Beautiful
Saw it coming but still got a tear in my eye. Blue belt is special for sure.
It definitely is. Such a great feeling of accomplishment getting the blue!
👊
Big Congrats to Brad and Tyler, hope you all had a great 2021, excited to see what 2022 brings us all.
Very cool belt promotion! I think it's awesome when an instructor makes the effort to do something like this.
Thanks! I think so too. I love doing stuffike this.
Love your videos. I started training when I was 67 years old. I have to compensate for my physical deficiencies. Your teaching really helps. Best of luck on the channel.
I love seeing things like this. There is nothing like getting the next belt tied on.
Such a great feeling for me tie them onto people too
I started bjj about 3 1/2 months ago and I’m obsessed!!!
This shit actually got me so happy and emotional. Brad reppin all of us dads out there
You can see off to right corner of the mat both Tyler and my youngest son, Brandon.
Thank you 🙏
that was the bollox!!! such a cool gesture the way you gave him his blue belt!!!
Great stuff Jordan, 47 year old white belt figuring out why I feel so helpless when rolling with higher belts. This video is a great help 👍🏻
Glad to help and glad you get to train with your son. I'm so glad my kids train too 🙂
Congrats to Brad. I know how it feels. Just got my blue this month. I’m blessed to have found your channel Professor Jordan!
This is such an awesome way to promote someone! ❤ you’re a great instructor Jordan!
I actually got tears receiving my blue. It was a long road. I'm still greatful to this day!!! Last year 2021.
That has got to be the best way to promote someone. Clever and wholesome.
Great video as always!
Thank you! It was a wonderful experience for me as well 🙂
2021 BJJ Acomplishment: 1st stripe on my blue belt. Thanks for the channel and for sharing the knowledge!
That's a great accomplishment! My pleasure 🙂
Biggest achievements were my 4th stripe on my blue belt, my associates degree in college, and a new job in my field of study! 🙌🏼 Here’s to a productive 2022! 🍻
Wow sounds like 2021 was a big year for you. Congratulations 🙂
Started BJJ in May. Haven’t been consistent enough to earn a blue belt yet. But I started the journey, which was a big step. Got promoted at work, and have been working on my overall self. Can’t wait to see how next year goes.
Congrats on starting BJJ and your promotion! 🙂
Even I got emotional with this. These are the little creative tweeks that make important moments memorable.
Yeah, it was 6 minutes of smash I endured lol.
not sure why, but the promotion got me watery eyed... ive had my blue belt for 7 years, got back in again. and just going to work.
Some tear came out when brad got his blue belt.
That surprise blue belt wrap was really cool, and you pulled it off pretty flawlessly. Great content as always.
Watching this video I was like...Brad looks pretty good to still be a white belt. Yeah, he's getting worked over but that just shows the class of a black belt so it was cool to see him get promoted in the end. I started and still train with my son and he's a blue belt too so lucky us.
What an awesome way to give his blue belt. Great job Brad! 🔥
@@beuford23 thanks. Got my blue belt one month ago! Felt great
@@bigoso404 fantastic to hear. Congratulations! I can imagine how you felt. Keep rolling brother
Congrats to them! What a creative way of promoting them
Man, my biggest achievement was just last month when I got promoted to blue belt.
