FINALLY someone explains this so I actually know what to do, and shows it a few weeks later to prove it works. Can’t tell you how many videos I have watched that didn’t help me or explain it at all. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you soo much Darling ! I loved the lesson ! It makes me confortable now to know exactly where to prune. Thats a good 8 years old lavender, huge actually! Congrats I wish I could buy your package seeds heirlooms internationally, unfortunally I am south America. : ) Your work looks amazing and I love to teaching videos ! Learning alot with your experience 😇
No, she means once every year. Do it as soon as the flowers are finished and the bees stop visiting - depending where you are that could be mid/late August. I'm doing mine then. Gives it time to grow before the cold weather sets in. I have a lavender hedge in my English garden as I feature in my videos. Hope that helps.
Wonderful video and shared knowledge. I am wondering how mature or old are the lavender plants that you pruned? As well, approximately how many lavender plants have you grown along the fence that is showed in the video (harvest video as well). Thank you!
We have several lavender we planted about 2 years ago that have done very well (Zone 7); however, we have not really done anything to them until earlier this spring we finally cut them back as they were getting out of control and (what I now know to be) woody. Knowing what to do now, is it too late to do this heavy pruning and get them a little more manageable in size over time? Thanks and GREAT video.
What about my lavender topiary when do I prune that after it starts growing for the Spring or should I burn it now while it's just starting to put some new green shoots out but the rest is looking Woody It is in a ball shape
When you say pruning in the season? What time frame are you talking about? I live in Zone 6 so is that mid-summer, late-summer, fall? When is the best time to prune?
Thin only before the plant goes dormant. If it's too cold now, you have to wait until spring. You can prop them up with some sticks and wire to direct their growth upward.

Great knowledge and thank you for sharing your craft!
Thank you! I've got some pruning to do looks like.
Great video would be useful to explain what time of year you pruned 😉
It was late summer, early fall in our Central California climate zone.
Thank you soo much Darling !

When you say every season do you mean 4 times a year?? Or should I do it once every fall? Thank you for your time and keep up the awesome job😁👍

I had same question. Thank you!

There's about a dozen plants along the fence, it's a pretty long fence. The plants shown in the video are about three years old.
Thank you...time to heavy prune
Is there something you can do with those green leaves? Can they be dried and used?
Thank you Renee 😅

Do not prune if it's gotten cold and the plant is dormant.
Do we wait until late summer to prune after harvesting the flowers early summer?
I didn’t do this in the fall and we are in December. Should I wait until spring to do this?
Yes

Do it mid August - that's what I do.
Nicely explained
Thanks a lot...
Can you do anything with the pruned off pieces of lavender? Can they be dried & used in/for anything? Even just for smells?
You can try them for smells, but they are not as fragrant as the flowers.
Hi my lavender has bloomed beautiful but it’s hanging over drooping on my walkway . Can I trim them a bit ? And how do I get them to grow straight ?
