They don't look weird at all. That reminds me of when the halo came out for the first time and everybody saying it looked weird! Humans eyes and brains adjust with time, that's all.

It's not that it looks weird, it's the fact that we've gotten so used to the halo that we think that the 2022 F1 car without it's halo looks weird but me personally it reminds me of the Renault R25

This is the problem with society. The people in charge introduce "the new thing"; everyone gets desensitised to the new thing and suddenly that's the new standard and now everyone's ok with it.
So glad I'm not part of society. I'm one of those "classical" people who have actual standards and doesn't compromise on them.
Sure, put as many ridiculous safety devices as you like on your cars, people like me WON'T be watching. If people had standards and didn't tolerate this kind of nonsense then nobody would be watching and they'd have to get rid of the halo to get the viewership back. Then the drivers would have to make a decision if they want to keep racing, and they would, and that would qualify as consent, so there is no moral issue.
But no, keep tolerating and tolerating the next thing, and the next thing after that. I don't care, I'm not part of society. You can all degenerate into rotting garbage for all I care, because I'm not part of you. One day you'll see, but for now you are fast asleep.

Surprisingly not that weird, I remember seeing the 2017 cars, they looked really weird to me after being used to the halo for a few years, but no halo actually suits these really well

@@Jeff-hk8th Yeah, I wasn't never against it. In fact if something that can saves lifes even if is ugly I won't complain, but f1 fans tend to go with the sounds and lookings too much. The safety of the pilot is first.
Haloshit always looked bulbus and out of place despite being a helpful piece of protection for anything that doesn't involve hitting concrete walls. It looks slightly better integrated on the new cars but as soon as you remove it or go back to the older cars the difference immediately becomes apparent.

Yes, so true. It's damn good that they are in a lot of race series. But they look like a start of a roof. And F1 is not only free wheels, I think. But hej, remember Grosjean.
The only reason it looks slightly weird is because you can clearly see the 2 halo "connection" points which would be way smoother and closer to 2000s F1 Cars if we stopped using halos.
If there was no Halo, the cars would be designed different.

I'm used to the halo now and I'm glad it's there, but man the cars look so much better without it. Sometimes I wish they come up with a more visual appealing solution.

The only thing weird is that the driver looks small in the car compared to classic F1 I grew up with.
Yep, F1 cars are now bigger than LMP cars.
Perhaps the reason why zoomies think it looks weird without the halo is because it doesn't change the fact the cars are still land yachts after 2017. The halo obscures your vision of the driver from the outside, when you remove it the size becomes much more apparent.
I think it's because we got used to the halo by now that halo-less cars look weird.

I think it looks weird because we've grown accustomed to the halo and the newer cars have integrated it better and better into the rest of the car, so removing it changes an integral part of it. You can tell it's missing something, even if the title didn't point it out.

Looks so cool. The weirdest looking cars for me are from 2017. They're wider like 2018 and beyond but there weren't halos back then. Those cars just look incorrect lol

Personally it's the 2018 cars that look wierd because the halo wasn't as sleek it was just stuck on to the 2017 car, it looked way better implemented on the 2019 car

@@ChrisStoneinator not really. The halo is mapped for areo sure, but that’s a lot of extra weight and drag. It definitely slows them down on straights, but probably helps on corners, even if it’s extra weight.

The problem is there not much safely and if a driver had a big crash they would be injured, with it, they wont be injured
