Great video, but some details were missed in the mods: -In 1948 and 1949 the layout used the perimeter roads, but there was a chicane at Club. -Until 1951 the start/finish straight were between Abbey and Woodcote, along with the pitlane -The Abbey chicane never existed until 1994. Also, Priory, Brooklands and Luffield were squared-off, and it wasn't until 1997 that they were rounded-off. Before that, the only change were Brooklands and Priory being closer to Luffield and Bridge in 1994 -Stowe was prolongated in 1990 to fit with the new Vale section, but in 1994 it was made into a hairpin to slow the cars down. But in 1996 it was changed again, this time to create a gradual kink at the end of the Hangar straight and make a faster corner. This remains nowadays -The new layout was created in 2010, but the Wing pitlane was ready in 2011, and the F1 cars had to use the "Original" pits one last time in 2010
Honestly, the original 1940s layout is probably a better track for racing than a few of the tracks on the current calendar. Also, it's weird to see so much elevation on the older versions of the track, given how Silverstone is considered completely flat due to being a repurposed airfield. Unless it's just made that way in this game.
Stowe is one of the most underrated corners in the world. It’s pretty difficult, as in modern day cars you start braking on turn in. It’s a medium speed, corner so its hard to find the limit. you have to hold it at the apex for a while, but then with the speed you’re carrying you can get hard on the throttle. The elevation change is also very dynamic, with a sharp rise on entry, crest at the apex, and drop back down on exit.
That would have been amazing! I really like that section-it's a proper infield but not with Mickey Mouse corners like at Hockenheim (old or new) or Mexico.
Yeah, Would've been sick but i think we have the best layout for Silverstone now like think about all the insane moments we've had since the layout was changed in 2010. Not sure if we would have all those moments if the 2009 layout was still here
The new layout is better for racing but the old one had more flow. There are more overtaking opportunities now, but for me the track has lost some of its character.
When they did 2 races back to back at Silverstone in 2020, I thought they should have used the Bridge layout for the anniversary race, thereby keeping the new version for the British GP.
Great work! My first ever lap on a race track was the Bridge layout back in 2009 or 10. That corner was bloody epic! Raced there the year after and must have overtook at least 1 car round the outside every lap :-)
You’re actually correct about them always being there. I’m positive that at least since 1950 the names Maggotts, Becketts, and Chapel Curve have been used. In the pre-1990 layouts Maggotts is the first corner, Becketts is the “hairpin,” and Chapel Curve is (of course) the corner that takes you onto Hanger Straight. The naming of the esses in terms of what is named Becketts seems a bit inconsistent to me, but I call Maggotts the first left-right and Becketts the next left-right.
@@emankcin1701 Man, you HAVE TO HAVE a breaking point, you must have reference points. If not marked with arrows and such, you take points at the side of the track.
It's the 2021 helmet as it's really close to how the 22 one currently looks, Yeah i don't know where to find Lewis's updated helmet I've looked everywhere quite unusual to not find anything as the AC community are normally rapid for skins and that

Agreed. Good video, the driving is mega, but there are just little details missing
Tbh the RAF layout doesn’t look too bad. Just needs a bit more safety and then I approve of it
Yeah it's more of an oval if anything
1997-2003 was the best layout.
Let's bring it backs
1975-1986 Layout is much better and faster.
That was some insane driving full send!
Yesssssirrrrr got to go for it
Never known a track that has had so many changes too it and yet still has kept its identity.
It would be cool if you could include the track map with a car tracker for the duration of the video. Gives a better perspective.

@@MMM-wg2vm Yes and to carry good speed through the corner (which is essential), there is a big risk to run wide at the exit
Woodcote was more square from 1991 to 1996. Had 2 consecutive 90° corners before entering the pit straight towards Corpse.
Is the Vale chicane correct for that period as well?
Bridge 😔 really wish it was possible to have brought it back for it's 70th anniversary.

I did not know. that maggots and bakkets were only added in 1991. I thought it was always there.

Technically maggots and Becket's were there before 1991. It's just considered the Becket's complex now.
layout till 1990 that is almost high speed corners and straight only was intense and exciting at also the then footage.
Nice race, man!

How do you make these videos look so good?
Nice video, I'd like to see more track evolutions only without that fish-eye lens effect
Love the videos
Thanks man ;)
thought that footage was real, what an insane graphics
No idea how old drivers managed to take corners, brake points and so on without reference points.
@@phaenius Instinctively, if you start thinking about where you break you at least lose too much time if not miss the corner entirely.
@@emankcin1701 So, they break without thinking?
@@phaenius Yeah, same thing with fear of death or severe injury via crashing out. If you start worrying too much then you lose too much time.

Me gustaba más la configuración que tenía antes de la última actualización del circuito
Nekrews cud u do this with Singapore (actually I just want to see you attempt the Sling chicane)
I will but i doubt on AC as there isn't a track mod for the old Singapore which is weird tbh i thought by now there would be

How can I play this version of the gp
Brazil next pls🥺🇧🇷
I like that.
1975-1986 best Layout.
I'd say 87-90 was better.
Hamilton and Stroll's home circuit.
Abbey wasnt changed until 1995. Also what about luffield 1 and 2.
A few mistakes in this video.
Bridge.
