Discussion summary Random guy: John Is god Nick Hickling: buckethead Is good too mife green: I disagree Nick Hickling: you dont belong to this thread Bananatree: Sir, you are stupid
his world did revolve around drugs. he's been clean for well over ten years and if you listen to his albums from his first solo album to his most recent, you can hear and feel how much he has changed not just as a musician but as a person.
i thank my dad for giving me californication at age 8. luckly i grew up with one of their best cd's. it's nice to see that im not the only teen that loves RHCP and John
i havn't taken any drugs in a week and i'm really happy because i've started seeing the beauty of music without having to use any kind of external substance. I'm not against them by any means and i will take them again but lately i've just been so inspired that i don't feel like taking any. John is such a great teacher. his contribution to music has been one of the most important ever
Richard I know I am 6 years late, but pretty please with a cherry on top, sober up. If not for yourself, for everyone around you. I quit and you can too. I used music as my new outlet, you can too.
That guy made me play the guitar. Damn I can't regret. Though he is not my fav guitarist anymore, he remains the very first spark that lead me to 6 strings. And he still got it.
I just want to listen all his songs but don't have enough time so I'm here clicking from one song to another and I adored every single one of them (well at least the fisrt half)!!!
I do dream you Allow me to believe you are the real me I see you breathing under water See you on both sides of a door I didn't mean you to fathom what you bought I'm away and anywhere to suffice Every life filled with what will be If my own will is from me How do I take another mirror How do I drink the whole shore I do greet you And slam the door in your face You come in anyways It's a long, long time before this takes place I answer these these questions now As to why I'm the only one Who carries answers to their fathers Who carries grey sky to the sun I'm not the railway I leave all of it to the air Passing highway's traffic just lying there Carry me away Come in anyways Both sides of the door The closed and open door
thank you for posting these lyrics. i'm wondering if i'd have thought differently about his solo stuff if id heard this before the niandra album. this sounds very greg sage-informed and i like it.
I have to admit I totally don't get it. Is John just spewing random, drug infused thoughts that are incomprehensible to a random listener or do I lack the awareness to comprehend it. Would love for someone to chime in.
John had sobered up a few years before this album released. In terms of the lyrics I heard john in an interview in 2003 where he talked about the way he writes alot of lyrics. He uses combinations of words or phrases that invoke a feeling, rather than making clear sense.
I haven’t heard one John Frusciante song that I haven’t liked, even when he was going through that rough state the music he made was still expressive and beautiful. I might even meet him tomorrow and I’ll be lucky to even breath the same air that the Great John Frusciante is breathing
I can't believe it! The last time I saw this was about 3 years ago on a Bob Marley video, it blew my mind but I could never remember the name so I couldn't read it again.. Thanks so much
He's a so great and underrated. His emotion and simplicity is what makes everything so beautiful. Solo or with the peppers. So glad he's back with them.
John motherfriggin Frusciante is one of the few chosen ones who can save humanity. offset this musical revolution because there's to much fake shit we need to satisfy our souls with true words and vibration. and that is the essence of music. Global fusion transcending all barriers. one love straight from Nairobi Kenya. Hakuna Matata.
I remmeber when I got an old computer for my birthday when I was 8, and my parents put the californication album on it. I listened to the whole album a couple of times a day, but i didnt even realise how much music would mean to me now, when Im 15. They inspired me to start playuing music myself, god bless the chilis :)
haha nice one man. my parents took me to a peppers concert when i was about 12. it was my first experience of live music. holy fucking shit man, life's never been the same since i witnessed that show. it was back in 2000ish when they toured australia and john had just rejoined the band. best show i've ever seen and i've seen hundreds since then
My favorites are Curtains, The Will to Death and The Empyrean. John's music is something I can't describe. One of the most beautiful people making music now and I'm not talking about his looks.
I grew up listening to RHCP, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, AC/DC, Van Halen, Pearl Jam and a few other randoms. I've just truly discovered Frusciante and feel blessed. Check out Frusciante singing the Bee Gees and you'll find love.
Easily the best guitarist of the last twenty years but even John himself would admit he's not the best of all time. Not that it matters his music is so emotive and original I can't believe I have only just discovered his solo work, I think I actually prefer it to RHCP. He is fucking awesome.
For me it all depends on my mood.. But lately i have been finding myself listening to more of Johns solo work, i connect with it on a much deeper level.
Elbis Usuca in a way. I say it like this RHCP is my favorite band (in my opinion the best) and John is my favorite musical Artist. Idk i feel like Rhcp is better when you wanna hear a band having a good time, John's just pure emotions coming through musical waves
How is this guy good in any way? he sounds like a tone deaf aboriginal ammeter guitarist who just bought his first rip off telecaster. His squinty fuck eyes make me want to die
He is so uniquely gifted. Not just as a guitarist. I think even the range in his voice is amazing and his singing is underrated. His just one of this people who seems to have been put here to make music.
John escaped being in the 27 club and went on to create some of the best music iv ever heard
Buckethead is pretty great too if you haven't peeped him yet
@@spiriteNsh1 meh. He has a couple really incredible works but the majority of his like 300 albums are pretty mediocre riff music imo
@@mifegreen5960 I don't have the energy to argue with a troll you don't belong on this thread is all I'm going to say
@@spiriteNsh1 This isn't a thread. This is the comment section of a John Frusciante song and I have no reason why you randomly brought up Buckethead.

John frusciante is a very good singer i love him
it's a crime to dislike this wonderful piece of great music. love john soo much! he's my hero of all times.
How music feels is much more important than playing technical.
A lot of people don't understand that, specially guitar players!
I mean that's the meaning of music !
just relax, and enjoy. save your opinion, nobody cares.
long live to johnnn, he took my head away, cant stop listening to him, thank you!!
I always come back to this song. Can't put my finger on exactly why I love it so much, but i do.

That guy made me play the guitar. Damn I can't regret. Though he is not my fav guitarist anymore, he remains the very first spark that lead me to 6 strings. And he still got it.
who's your fave guitarist right now outta curiosity?
Been a Chili's fan since I was 13 (10 yrs ago), and now I play this stuff to my son. The cycle goes on and on....
i could just imagine him playing this on that hillside in the picture :)
I just want to listen all his songs but don't have enough time so I'm here clicking from one song to another and I adored every single one of them (well at least the fisrt half)!!!
I fell in love with John when I saw the Scar Tissue vid.
This is masterpiece!
I cannot believe that I only heard this song for the first time yesterday! What a fantastic fucking track!!!
I'm listening for the first time myself crazy right
I want another album like this. Can't get enough of Fru
Love this tune.
I do dream you
Allow me to believe you are the real me
I see you breathing under water
See you on both sides of a door
I didn't mean you to fathom what you bought
I'm away and anywhere to suffice
Every life filled with what will be
If my own will is from me
How do I take another mirror
How do I drink the whole shore
I do greet you
And slam the door in your face
You come in anyways
It's a long, long time before this takes place
I answer these these questions now
As to why I'm the only one
Who carries answers to their fathers
Who carries grey sky to the sun
I'm not the railway
I leave all of it to the air
Passing highway's traffic just lying there
Carry me away
Come in anyways
Both sides of the door
The closed and open door
thanks

As far as i know he was sober when he recorded this
John had sobered up a few years before this album released. In terms of the lyrics I heard john in an interview in 2003 where he talked about the way he writes alot of lyrics. He uses combinations of words or phrases that invoke a feeling, rather than making clear sense.

the picture says it all, dust on the guitar depicts his use of playing so good he forgets to clean
