    A lot of maintenance and equipment needed for your work. Seeing the maintenance of your equipment is almost as interesting as seeing the equipment working. Thanks for making these.

      😊 I don't show half of the work needed to keep it all working as it should maybe I should add. I've just fitted a new alternator and batterys water pump and thermostat but didn't film that 🫣 I've still alot more to do to get things upto 100% 😏

      Don’t blast without gloves - sooner or later more likely sooner you will notice small black spots on your hands which will not go way. The spots will later become infected, the infection becoming persistent and leading to serious issues. By the time you notice the black spots it is too late as the debris from the blaster along with bits of blast media have become imbedded under the skins epidermis ( outer layer).

      @grahamc887 Scott knows all too well what it feels like he's a tattoo like scare from the blaster 😂 how soon we talking? I use gloves on cold days but summer and hot days I don't and its been 15 ish year so and I've yet to hit myself well I fell off a jcb bucket (load all) once and my 1st reaction was put my hands down to brake my fall I would have been better just holding the pipe and fall however because I got bit on the cool down across the leg 😬 that hurt more than the fall would have haha

      Yeah I like the front bit on this real nice shape and the quality of the build was 2nd to none even the joints wasn't warped and nice and flush he mentioned something about this boat also had something that when it's plugged in to 240v it don't use the power like normal boats it charges and the boat runs off its own power supply I can only think battery banks or some kind of earthing that don't earth to the boat or water I've forgotten what he called it sounded very technical but obversly something is working as it was in real nice shape to say the years its had in the water 👌👍

    Hi Mick
    That’s a great example of how blasting the steel from new keeps the rust and pitting at bay. The anodes do help but I’ve done them when they’ve had the anodes on but not blasted and they’re pitted to hell. Spend a little bit more in the beginning and have them blasted, cut corners on the anodes👍😂

      Definitely, also only use International 2k paint. Believe me International is the best of the best. I’ve been using it for over 20 years and it outperforms anything else. I’m going back into tanks I blasted and painted 15-18 years ago and honestly they are like the day we did them. The tanks are submerged in raw sewage and attack by methane gas and the paint it’s literally untouched. And it’s the same product they use on ships and oil tankers etc.

    Might be too late now but if the owner is 2 Packing the boat then all them Anodes are not needed down the side, only needed around the Prop and Rudder, like the Anode on the Skeg is a good place to put it and one each side of the swim near the Prop and a couple on the Rudder. If it has a bow thruster there is a Anode on the prop end to protect the metals in that area.

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  2 місяці тому

      I understand how they work and the logic of them but I still wonder do they actually work. This boat is obviously convincing me they do but I've done a lot of boats before and see even pitting regardless if they have a lot or hardly any. I think good prep and a good service plan is the way to go personally saying that if I had a boat I would fit them for peace of mind they don't cost the earth and last a long time so why not 😏 I'm on the fence like I say I know the logic and understand why they use them but I'm less than convinced they actually do that much just from the amount of boats I've blasted over the years if I spotted a noticeable area near the anodes that was cleaner or less scaled then I would be more convinced normally if a boat is pitted its pitted in a uniform way 🤔 its 50 50 for me if the work or not haha

    • @madmick6805
      @madmick6805 2 місяці тому

      @@Mobileblaster The problem with putting on for piece of mind is , IF you 2pack it , when you weld / break the surface of the paint you introduce electrolysis into the area around the Anode. I agree it is a science but I spoke with boat surveyors over my career and this is what it led me to believe. Also I saw a guy re applying roofing felt to his Hull, and his Hull had not one bit of rust or corrosion. The felt acts as a electro insulation just like the 2pack.

    • @Mobileblaster
      @Mobileblaster  2 місяці тому

      @madmick6805 Yeah I've spoken with builders and surveyors they all say the same thing anodes work and should be used I'm not going to disagree because the science proves it should work I would like to see an area round the anodes be cleaner steel than say an area that not got them but that would be impossible as a fair test as coating thickness and water will very etc like if the shower empty port is on 1 side etc it would be impossible to do a fair test. I don't have much to do with paints/coating it's not something I enjoy doing I'm very limited with knowledge in that department. I would love to see a scientific experiment with the anodes tho 😏 it would take some time to film I would imagine 😂
