    I recognise that my style of animation pales in comparison to line-drawn animation.
    I create cartoons purely for my jokes and scripts.
    This tutorial was made with the intent of helping people with no experience in After Effects create character animation, to show them how to make a simple character from start to finish.
    This After Effects tutorial was created by Ross Plaskow
    Apologies for the poor quality of this After Effects tutorial. This is strictly for beginners.
    I have learned a lot about tutorial making from this.
    Hopefully my next tutorial (the bear) will be of a higher quality.

      ecpjll I'm sorry, but kids aren't obliged to stay outside because the "older age" did it; they invented this new technology for adults and kids to use it and as long as you know there are many talented kids out there who perfect these kinds of things.

      You can access time remap in AE CC by right clicking on the layer, selecting time, then selecting time remap. Or you can access it by making sure the layer you want to remap is selected before looking for 'time' under the layer tab in your tools tab. Hope that helped!

    • @revvilo
      @revvilo 7 років тому +5

      When you get really adept at the hotkeys and such I'm sure animating is a lot easier, just hammer away at the keyboard instead of trying to aim the shitty old mouse

    Guys. I really wanna learn, but I suck at drawing on computers. I'd rather scan a drawing on paper and usit. Is there a way to do so? Would it be much harder?
    Thanks for your attention!

    • @catdadcoach
      @catdadcoach 8 років тому +13

      u could draw and scan than use the lasso or magnetic lasso in Photoshop to separate body parts and add them to individual layers. Adobe flash offers a very simple user interface especially for simpler drawings if you are having a hard time with drawing in Photoshop. Only downside of scanning is the quality of the drawing and it will be harder to manipulate or correct mistakes but you can always lower the opacity and use it as a base and trace it.

      If you're really serious about drawing and animating you can get a drawing tablet, although they are quite expensive. I use a Wacom Intuous Pro in Medium which cost around £250 and It's amazing.

    • @mils0r
      @mils0r 10 років тому +2

      No need to feel offended. I'm not a "master blaster", I don't even know what that means (not an anglophone native), I just meant that it is easy to follow because he has his shit down and doesn't needlessly slow the process. Can you live better with this wording? I prefer looking at tutorials that show a workflow, rather than just enter certain predefined values to create ONE thing. How would I not need tutorials? I can figure everything out on my own, or I can watch tutorials, to get the basics and give my mind some ground to work off of.

    How do you get audio scrubbing like that? The only way I get audio is if I crop the render area and press ram preview button. It's a bit of a drag. I assume it's some preference setting

      Hold "control" when scrubbing. Or command on Mac.

    Could you make a video that explains how to do this process when you're using a puppet and live footage (like you did in The Meat Mysteries)? I'm a puppet builder and really want to learn how to incorporate animated elements into my characters.

    Anyone know what are the minimum requirements a computer/laptop must have to use this program? I was told a minimum 8gig RAM and 1050 Geforce card. Should I aim for better or is this enough?
