    With both of my .22 Hatsan AT-44's(AT-44 P/A, AT-44"tact"10-22), I Consistantly use H&N Rabbit Magnum Power(Copper Plated), I get 2" groupings at well over 50 yd's, even ONE RAGGED HOLE groupings under "Perfect" conditions,,,,,,My next "Go-To" pellet is the 18gr,. FX Smooth Twist pellet, That lets me take Game at close to 125 yd's(using Sportsmatch Fully ADJUSTABLE Rings, w/ a Zeiss Conquest Scope sitting on Top),,,,,,My Next Go-To round is the Kovohute "Standard", which gives me 1.5" groupings at 75 yd's, and is What you'll most likely find I'm using for Distance Shots when I'm out for Jack Rabbits. For my .25 Hatsan AT-44S,,,,It's H&N Grizzlies all the WAY!,,,,W/ Skenco "Black Max" Match rounds coming in 2nd

      I've never tried copper plated pellets, nor the others you mentioned, but
      the results you got from them certainly encourage me to put them on my
      wish list. Thank you 2RCHA!

    great video with excellent stats as usual thankyou, the rabbit magnums a bit off to start, did they re lead the barrel as they tightened up real quick, they didn't look too good though, i thought they looked rough around the edges, lots of casting marks

    • @unrelatedactivities
      @unrelatedactivities  8 років тому

      Thank you Gary. As you have noted the Rabbit Magnums are not uniform, some fit very tight in the barrel. With my BT65 and HW100 they only group (sometimes) at less than 20 yards.

  • @michup86
    @michup86 6 років тому +1

    Thanks but it does not make sense for me. You test bullets and pellets using same factors. While I agree that HN Rabbit II will not perform as precise as pellet on short range, and with such low power PCP, and without wind etc. However they do have much better BC, therefore I would much more appreciate comparing them at 75-100-150 meters outdoor.

    Copper coated pellets seems to be accurate in my bsa scorpion 1200 se .22cal. But I wonder why its just slower a bit in FPS compared with the same h&n baracuda.22cal 21.14 gr.lead pellets!

    • @unrelatedactivities
      @unrelatedactivities  7 років тому +1

      I have not used copper-plated pellets yet.. Maybe the slower muzzle velocity is due to some difference in diameter, I have noted that pellets with smaller diameter have more velocity variation tending to the slower side (with my air rifles at least).

    do you actually fire that fast or is sped up for video ,do you clean barrel between different batches ,metal fouling is a problem for all rifles if changing projectile type ,my 223 match rifle is very touchy as is Gamo 22 under lever ,but boy does it shoot ! keep up the good work

    • @unrelatedactivities
      @unrelatedactivities  7 років тому +1

      Hi Mark, thanks!
      The video is edited to show only 3 or 4 seconds per shot, I usually take at least 20 seconds to reload and aim. I don't remember if I have cleaned the barrel when the video was made, but you are right, some pellets tend to leave the barrel fouled/dirty even with a few shots and I am still trying to learn how much cleaning is needed with the best pellets for my air rifles.

      I bought a beautiful near new model 36 Diana break barrel some years ago ,but it would not group consistently with any pellets ,it was not until I slugged the barrel that I discovered the problem ,,,the worst barrel I have ever seen on any rifle .The bore was a series of thick and thin sequences and very poorly machined /finished ,such a disappointment to find on a rifle from that maker .The replacement barrel is as should be and shoots 3/4 inch at 30yds no problems with good heavy pellets ,but its very selective on what it likes to eat and I patch out the bore regularly . I must scope it ,my eyes are not what they were . Here's to calm days and tight groups !Cheers

      Obrigado! O Rabbit não se saiu bem, só agrupou a partir de18m. O Sniper (pelo menos este que comprei) tem o diâmetro muito pequeno, muito raro agrupar. O Baracuda Match de 5,53mm costuma agrupar bem. O JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy de 2012 que veio com a HW100 agrupou muito bem, os de 2016 agrupam bem, mas somente numa faixa de velocidade mais baixa.
      Vou fazer o vídeo com estes chumbos, devo ter alguns grupos já filmados. Por enquanto tem este com o H&N Baracuda Match 5,53mm:

    Thanks for a well produced and very informative video.
    However, there's something I can't agree with...
    "eliminating the flyers"
    Something which doesn't happen when you're hunting or in a competition. "flyers" mean you need to check your pellet or your rifle. You can't just ignore poor shots.

    • @unrelatedactivities
      @unrelatedactivities  8 років тому

      Thank you for your comment! You are right.

    • @tasmedic
      @tasmedic 8 років тому +2

      You're welcome! Looking back, I think my comment sounds aggressive, so thanks for accepting my thoughts in the spirit they're intended. As a keen hunter, I feel that "flyers" are a major problem, and often cause unnecessary suffering to game animals and pests. So, finding the pellet with the least tendency to cause these, is a very important consideration (as you have shown!).

      I used to hunt when I was a kid, and this would remain my favorite shooting activity if I still owned a farm. I currently shoot paper targets, only indoors (comfortable, but a little frustrating). Among the pellets I have tested so far (with AT44 .177, BT65 and HW100 .22) the best were H&N Baracuda Match .22 and .177, JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy .22 and JSB Exact .177, but I can not resist trying other pellets (just for fun :-)).

      Thank you Fly-fishing, the results were similar with the HW100 .22 FAC:
      Rabbit Magnum and Sniper Magnum didn't performed well, Baracuda Match (only 5,53mm) and JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy grouped well, the last one with HW100's power reduced. I will soon edit a video with these pellets and HW100, by now you can check the grouping with H&N Baracuda Match 5,53mm at 32.8 yards:

      Não tive bons resultados com o Rabbit nas duas .22 que testei. Parece que os chumbos com cintura são os melhores mesmo, testei o H&N Piledriver 4,5mm e foi a mesma coisa que o Rabbit: não agrupa.

      Já fiz chumbos imitando o formato de 5.56 e 7.62 em escala menor para 5.5 a ar comprido.
      E realmente chumbo reto não agrupa muito bem... Estranho...😕😕
