    We will be looking for a small EV next year, I like the dolphin but newer and cheaper cars are coming out, so this car , Citroen C3 and the new fiat are top of our list.

      Citroen C3 is an actual car. Spring is a 4k (not the resolution) dongfeng, 1 euro ncap star. 😂

      Citroen have approached the C3 in the exact way Dacia have with the spring. We will have to wait and see but likely both cars will get around 3 stars when tested. You’re describing the 1st generation spring.

    The Spring is intended primarily for cheap commuting. It is a small car, being narrower than a Fiat 500. It will serve it's intended design brief well, but just don't expect miracles from it.....

    I’m interested but over the last 4 years l have tried to arrange a test drive in a normal ICE powered Dacia car twice but each time the “salesperson” has only been interested in selling me a car from their part exchange lot at the rear of their showroom. Does this mean that Dacia dealers actually want to sell these!

    I like Dacia but I have questions. What current EV doesn't have AC charging, why is the VTL plug not a UK 3 pin socket & why is there rear seats at all when you describe it as a 2 seater? Dacia UK's own website states, "4 full sized seats for all your passengers."

    • @ross539reviews

      I think she's referring to 2 seats in the back not 3 seats

    • @johnbanksreviews
      @johnbanksreviews  2 місяці тому +2

      It isn’t that any cars do not have AC charging, I was referring to most micro cars like the Citroen Ami do not have DC charging. The whole car is European car as a chance for people to take a closer look before the RHD models arrive, then they will be three pin. I am talking about there being 2 seats and not 3 in the back.

    Tish, did I hear right AC charging of only 2.3kWh? I would imagine this car will be used mostly on a home charger, with EV tariffs only usually available for 4-6 hours, so you won’t be able to 80%!

    Hmmm looks nice but the range is too small, and electric is not really the future! The future will be hydrogen cars not electric! And in the winter your range will be under 100 miles due to the colder weather! With electric. I can’t see many of these cars selling.

    • @carlarrowsmith
      @carlarrowsmith 2 місяці тому +2

      You'll be on here in 20 years time saying the same thing. Hydrogen is dead for cars and heating, efuels and synthetic fuel is a distraction that will never go mainstream. EV is the only game in town for the future.

    Cheap and cheerful is exactly what an appliance should be. But the entry level is only 45bhp and the more powerful a barely useable 65bhp.
    She failed to mention those awkward numbers 😂
    And another she failed to mention was the 1 star NCAP rating.

    • @johnbanksreviews
      @johnbanksreviews  2 місяці тому +1

      Please bare in mind that the Spring tows the line between micro-car and passenger-vehicle. Whilst it’s slower than many road cars, it’s much quicker than cars like the Citroen Ami with only with its low power and limited top speed.
      This latest version of the Spring has not been tested by Euro NCAP and therefore it inherits the one-star safety rating of the pre-facelift model that was available in Europe previously. This latest version packs lane-keeping assistance, speed-limit recognition, a driver attention alert system and autonomous emergency braking (AEB).
      If you want to jump through NCAP hoops, this car would be £10,000 more. The spring is much safer than 90% of cars on the roads 5 years ago.

    • @jaywalker1233
      @jaywalker1233 2 місяці тому

      what’s not clear with the NCAP rating is whether this is because of driver assistance aids or crash test results (of the first series Spring). Personally I don’t care about “driver assistance aids” but I am interested in the vehicle’s collision scores - how did the series one perform?
