@MichaelHazell you probably don't need to worry about prime frames yet. I would just continue progressing through the planets and you might get one as a daily log in reward. Also, I think you can get them in the free season pass. It'll be the terminal on your right if you're standing in your ship looking down the ramp towards your arsenal. I hope this helped
@CNORYN the fact that Prime frames exist is messing with me. It makes me think that there is no value investing resources like these Orokin Reactors because there is a better version is available, even if the stat improvement is minor and it is mostly about looks. You can earn traces regardless of whether you brought a relic to the mission or not, but if you did bring a relic, you won't get the traces if you don't get enough residue to open the relic.

I started playing Warframe back in early 2018 (Fortuna was about to come out and Deimos didn't even exist back then, so my experience was a bit different to the one told here). Even to me, multiple hundreds of hours into the game, this video has been very informative. There is just so, SO much to see, do and experience in this game, that it's good to have a re-cap of the story so far. Thank you for the time and effort it took to make this video!

Can’t decide wether I love or hate that DE relies so heavily on the community/creators. Like instead of making a recap themselves that would untangle confusion for newer players they just say “let them do it themselves”. At least they engage in a healthy way and promote it though. You look at Destiny, and not a single person would care about it’s lore and story if Myelin or Byf didn’t take it upon themselves to explain _everything_ without any help from Bungie. DE will promote and sponsor creators directly to help the community understand stuff 🤷♂️. (I hate to be the D2 WF comparison guy but I feel like it’s a relevant point so whatever) Edit: Just to clarify I love the community involvement and engagement, but I don’t love how it’s the only sufficient resource for understanding the game. Like you literally _need_ to watch guides to understand the lore or some endgame activities and how we’ve gotten to this point. That’s kind of the nature of this 11-12 year old beast of a game though. Can’t have the complexity and history and evolution without the side effects of confusion and age showing. Gotta take the good with the bad and appreciate what we have 🫶
To be fair DE is really active with the community with streams and Tenno con etc so I really don’t see the difference between DE and the content creators/streamers
Given that it helps boost the community, it's similar to GGG with PoE 2 right now. The community finds the best voices for them and DE can do more focusing on content. And it could be worse where Blizzard or EA don't focus on community as much or as well.
@@bruhmoment1098 true but that requires you to have done everything already. As great as that is, it isn’t doing anything for newer players. I feel as long as DE is supporting creators in their creation of lore videos such as this one, then they are doing a good thing for the community overall. Brozime gets paid for making a full video about this, and players get caught up on what's important in the lore. They don't *need* to do anything to support the lore (like Bungie in your D2 comparison), and they probably ultimately save money/dev time by outsourcing to people like Brozime who are willing to do the work for the $.
Personal recommendation about Onkko and the Amps, would honestly just recommend building the first one anyone can, a 111(Raplak + Pencha + Clapkra) Amp is like upgrading from an axe(the free Mote Amp you get from Onkko) to a chainsaw.
Not gonna lie I jumped back into warframe last week and my first thought after 9 hours of playing was "I wonder if Brozime did another catchup video for the new expansion." Already caught up but love watching these. Also can we all just appreciate warframe for a minute? lol I have been in a funk bouncing from game to game for a month not able to get into anything for longer than 20 minutes and then did 9 hours straight of warframe enjoying every second. Going on 800 hours on steam (untold hours lost to other clients over the years) and it still sucks me in every time i let it. Appreciate the content!
Phenomenal production 😎 thanks Brozime, i know that took an incredible amount of your time and effort to create, and as a wf founder, a great reminder of the amazing path from the beginning to the present, gg 😃
Man, I started playing Warframe in 2020, with Empyrean being the latest update at the time, and seeing how different the game is now is absolutely wild to me. The first new Warframe I experienced was Protea, and seeing her later get primed was amazing. All the updates have kept this game fresh and always make me come back for more
Good stuff, perfect for returning players - and it would have been a perfect resource a few days ago when I was putting together a literal powerpoint presentation to remind a friend of the story she had played years ago to get her ready for new war ^^ And yes, I had totally forgotten about Grandmothers activities and relations.
Brozime, I am actually a viewer from Aztecross (obviously you meet with him today) I haven't play warframe in a long time and me watching this video help me remember where I was in terms of quests (To my surprise I finished the New War after remembering the recap). Watching Cross grind this game kinda push me a bit to return and try to get back it.
It's absolutely wild seeing the new player path being so different than my personal path. Do you think having the bits of bonus Void related lore in Railjack and Heart of Deimos happen before War Within was a positive change? Seeing the finger early on would certainly be a weird surprise.
Is the alternative music at the Whispers In The Wall Arthur section a part of Streamer Mode setting? I could have sworn it plays NIN Into The Void in-game.
How? Or rather, why? I mean, did you expect the story to focus on time traveling while also being concerned about whether or not the Zariman can keep the hole plugged?
@se7enhaender The hole just leads to the pocket dimension of Duviri created by the Drifter. That thread has mostly been tied off now. I think there's more that could be done with those characters, or the ship, later on, but that will have to wait.
@chaosgyro Does it? I was under the impression that it's the void in general, including duviri. It's the first time I've heard someone refer to duviri as separate from the void. Granted, I am behind on my lore video esseys watch list.
As someone who did a lot of those older quests as they released and took an extended break from the game, this video was extremely helpful for remembering some of the story beats that I may have forgotten! Also, can you tell me which colors you used for your Operator's/Drifter's hair? I've been having some difficulty making an auburn color, and yours looks very close to the color I want.
You'll need to do the most important main story quests. The Lotus Eaters requires the completion of Whispers in the Walls as well as The New War. Angels of the Zariman is strangely not a (in)direct requirement though
So I had done a lot leading up to the fortuna update before things like the starchart, second dream, war within sacrifice etc had gotten reworked. I fell off pretty much at the start of fortuna but I recently jumped back in and am playing catch up with roughly half the roster of frames. Plenty of weapons and such etc. I have 6 active quests with deadlock, heart of deimos, waverider, new war, duviri paradox, and call of the tempestrari. Any recommendations on where to start? There's years worth of content I've missed so im just trying to figure out where I should begin from. Most my starchart is done short of the new railjack nodes which ive only just built and done earth stuff for and whatever else after.
Can someone tell me if there was some damage shift in the game recently? I didn't play warframe for a year or two, and all my weapons are kinda useless. I have strun wraith with a riven, and it was my strongest weapon. It's still good but not that great. What is the thing or system to unlock/get to make my weapons stronger? I also have few kuva and tenet weapons but they are also not that great anymore.
Armor changed, some mods changed, damage types changed, etc. Id go to the warframe wiki and read up on the enemy armor types and the damage types to see what all has been changed.
So is it possible that the deal with wally is “I give you powers, but, in do time, you must relinquish your world to me” Cause like we kept it from happening in the Kalymos Sequence, and only then was the deal broken by us according to it Am I crazy?
lol the necromech part made me laugh cause there is no way out on how to explain this complicated system in the game. Edit: DE please make the process simpler or have a better way explaining it. Great video btw!
While I thoroughly enjoyed this ride again, reliving moments that at first got my in complete confusion then awe while the story developed... I was mostly distracted by your noise gate eating out the begining of your words like a hungry Helminth... I don't know if i was the only one annoyed by that, working in the audio industry, I hope not or that'd may mean I'm finally getting mental but... please consider easing it a bit. Regardless of that, I know the big effort this was to make and I fondly thank you for this video :)
Stallord also put out a sponsored video this weekend, that has a really good, and quick explanation of duviri. The whole vid is about 16 minutes long, goes into more of what 1999 will be about. Same as you I was a little confused about duviri, and he explained it in a way where it finally clicked
Seconding StallordD's video but tl;dw: Duviri was a kid's book intended to help kids not bring horrible shit to life during their void jump. Drifter, having read it, instead brought the whole book to life as a coping mechanism to deal with the horror of being stuck in the Void. Drifter was in charge of the place for a time, but fell into a downward spiral and gave control to the king in the story, Dominus Thrax. During Thrax's reign, Duviri experienced incursions from Albrecht, our Teshin, and the man in the Wall. Extreme measures were taken to keep Wally out, including getting rid of multiple tainted islands, and eventually forcing the kingdom to perpetually relive the same day, preventing all change. The Drifter wanted out, but Thrax couldn't allow that, and condemned them to execution over and over. In a bad mental place, the Drifter just resigns themselves to it, until one loop where they instead survived and picked up the Lotus's hand, which is where the quest begins.
@ Yeah that video was an amazing recommendation cause it filled in the gaps for me. And understanding the vioid kind of as a pocket of “unreality” and that it manifests thoughts also makes things click better. Cause certain matters like when Albericht goes to Duviri and things like Teshin being there to like re-teach us also made matters interesting. This video plus Stallords makes it make sense now
I say it all the time, but I despise the placement of the open world quests. They really should not be required on the first pass through the star chart. It's way too much too fast for new players, and it muddies the storyline as well.
I wanted to try this new update, but always got bored playing warframe. Finding out I have to play the parts I think are boring just to get access to 1999. Makes me not want to play it sadly. Maybe in a few years I will come back again.
Wait wha- but people have been saying online that it will come during the winter time like around December 22 😢 but if it does come on the 12 please god I want to save Arthur so badly !!
22nd is out of the question, way too close to the holidays. The absolute latest we'll get it is the 18th, but even that would be pretty rough with little time for hotfixes. Hence hoping for a TGA release on the 12th.
Nice guide, I bet it will help new players. Wish I had something similar back in the days when I chose Loki as a my starter. It was one of the options back then.
Two quick commemts about the lore, the Orokin didn't technically make the Tenno. They were human kids given void powers. Also, the warframes aren't suits, they're people

Also, can you tell me which colors you used for your Operator's/Drifter's hair? I've been having some difficulty making an auburn color, and yours looks very close to the color I want.
I haven't played wf in awhile do I need to finish any other main story stuff to do 1999? Thx brozime love ur videos
You need to complete the duviri paradox and the lotus eaters to do 1999
@@KartyrOfficial thx 🙂
You'll need to do the most important main story quests. The Lotus Eaters requires the completion of Whispers in the Walls as well as The New War.
Angels of the Zariman is strangely not a (in)direct requirement though
@@JorrickLdamn guess I won't be doing it. Stuck on the railjack and getting a necromech.
@@KartyrOfficial no just lotus eaters
"BWAAAAAAAAAAAAA" - Wally Manfred
It'll be interesting to see if they bring in Eternalism for Albrecht in 1999. When he travelled, did he come back to 1999 or the Man in the Wall?
Aztecross Sends his regards... thankyou Warframe Byf aka Warframe lore daddy for the lore vid!!!!!!!!!
Hour long Zime lore video was not what I was expecting on a Monday
Edit: spelling
Thank you for making this. I'm more excited for 1999 than any other Warframe update to date!
think the guy in the thumbnail is that UHC shooter ngl
Appreciate ur work Brozime.
No SuperThanks option?
Wait, are we supposed to Heart of Deimos before Rising Tide, even though it was released later? Both are on my quest list.
No, do rising tide first.
good video
I don't think Deadlock Protocol is optional, I think its a prereq for something.
I just cant get through pluto, im struggling to build to get through it
hey Brozime, question. what is that outfit the operator was wearing for the War Within?
I just want my nyx rework for Christmas 🎄
Can someone tell me if there was some damage shift in the game recently? I didn't play warframe for a year or two, and all my weapons are kinda useless. I have strun wraith with a riven, and it was my strongest weapon. It's still good but not that great. What is the thing or system to unlock/get to make my weapons stronger? I also have few kuva and tenet weapons but they are also not that great anymore.
Armor changed, some mods changed, damage types changed, etc.
Id go to the warframe wiki and read up on the enemy armor types and the damage types to see what all has been changed.
So is it possible that the deal with wally is
“I give you powers, but, in do time, you must relinquish your world to me”
Cause like we kept it from happening in the Kalymos Sequence, and only then was the deal broken by us according to it
Am I crazy?
1:14:06 AIN'T NO WAY THAT WAS YOUR TENTH BUILD ON THIS PLAYTHROUGH
lol the necromech part made me laugh cause there is no way out on how to explain this complicated system in the game. Edit: DE please make the process simpler or have a better way explaining it. Great video btw!
heh ive gone to legendary 3 and didnt see the right click to fuse until now
It only came out recently, no worries
While I thoroughly enjoyed this ride again, reliving moments that at first got my in complete confusion then awe while the story developed... I was mostly distracted by your noise gate eating out the begining of your words like a hungry Helminth... I don't know if i was the only one annoyed by that, working in the audio industry, I hope not or that'd may mean I'm finally getting mental but... please consider easing it a bit. Regardless of that, I know the big effort this was to make and I fondly thank you for this video :)
Bravo!! Hope they paid u good.
I don't have an Update for WF1999.. Am i missing something here ?
Wait, did they change the music for that 1999 bit during Whispers In The Walls?, did you add that in post, or is that a Streamer Mode thing?
He added it in post.
Duviri is the only thing lore wise I still do not fully follow. I need some breakdown of the deeper lore stuff
Stallord also put out a sponsored video this weekend, that has a really good, and quick explanation of duviri. The whole vid is about 16 minutes long, goes into more of what 1999 will be about.
Same as you I was a little confused about duviri, and he explained it in a way where it finally clicked
Seconding StallordD's video but tl;dw:
Duviri was a kid's book intended to help kids not bring horrible shit to life during their void jump.
@@zedar0 I think dominus thrax is supposed to be you as a self insert into the story. That’s why he behaves like a child.
This video plus Stallords makes it make sense now
Ok but you gotta tell us what the face combo you used was
So angels of zariman isn't worth noting? Or did I miss it?
Not on the required path but I do suggest playing it at the end if you are caught up
@Brozime oh damn really? Angels is a side quest?
10:02 My man's has no Hammer lol
Rip NIN into the void
80 minutes? how many game hours is that to Catch Up?
Does DE know the story of their game? Genuine question lol
Nice guide, I bet it will help new players. Wish I had something similar back in the days when I chose Loki as a my starter. It was one of the options back then.
Is this said secret Project?
It is!
Two quick commemts about the lore, the Orokin didn't technically make the Tenno. They were human kids given void powers. Also, the warframes aren't suits, they're people
