- I did a terrible job with my critique of the overuse of the word "funk" to describe certain distillery profiles (lol, whoops!). My point is basically that we often reduce a distillery profile down to the word "funk" without ever attempting to describe what exactly is meant by that word. So while I did overuse the word myself in this video, I did my best to describe what exactly that "funk" is. I would reshoot the video for the sake of clarity, but I'm out of my sample. Live and learn! Cheers.

These scotch videos really push Cam to the leading edge of my whiskeytube. He has a capable palate and exceptional ability to put words to flavors. The video is clean and free of gimmicks, and the production value is high. Most importantly, and he’s improved on this a lot lately, he can express his comprehensive knowledge without losing the feeling that he is learning along with the audience. When I’m in the mood to think about what I have in my glass, this is the content and the creator I want to see. Not sure if PBS will ever option a whiskey series, but if they do…

Got no problem with this dram, I don't go back to my bottles very often at all because I don't want to buy another but it's gotta be in the collection.
Agreed with the funk talk. There’s a lot of different “funkiness” 😂 I get a funky fermented maraschino cherry on a lot of wild turkey, a funky flower show/stem on grey ranch, and a funky day old sweet tea on a lot of rye. Good breakdown!
Gotta say, its damn hard finding a single malt for under $100 nowadays without walking into a Costco.
I can still find a Talisker 18 for around $140, Glenmo for a little less if I hunt for it. But thats about as close as you can get.
I like you taking a "value for the pour" look at things. Some of us need to start tightening our budgets.

@javieracosta3439 Not really Springbank. Hard for me to describe but I would say a more rubbery (maybe Macallan?) flavor rather than manure flavor (springbank)
