- Hello everyone! In this video, I will be discussing my current truck modifications, future plans for modifications, as well as how the truck has held up over the past 3000 miles. It has been driven all over the George Washington National Forest and North Carolina beaches, so stick around until the end to hear my thoughts on the truck's 4x4 modes and performance.

I am at 683 miles with mine...I am loving it.
I really appreciate your videos.
Thank you!! They are great trucks!
I'm at 695 but I opted for the gmc canyon at4 version
Man you are rollin with this truck!!! Good stuff!!! I actually learned a few things.
Thanks!!!
Great review and truck!!
Thank you!!
Please let me know how you changed the color of the "Colorado" from chrome to glossy black. Thanks
Lol he called the butt plug a “dog toy”
Mine is on the way. Thanks for the mod list
You will love it!
@@JT4X4OFFROADING I think I’m gonna put on led lights first instead of the halogens
Nice looking truck and love the color.
Thank you!!
I did the pod lights for the hood and the bolts bracket and hood shock fit.No modifying.I got a Auxbean 6 gang switch,You can run wire from cab to engine compartment under the carpet on driver side there is a plastic plug you can drill out,run wire and silicone to seal.
Liked and subscribed. I just bought a 2024 Trail Boss all blacked out. Man this 2.7 liter turbo RIPS!!
Dang you got the 24 with the big dash screen, lucky!
Love it! I’m at about 3300 and I’ve noticed minor things but I can live with them. I also want to do the HO tune and you may have convinced me 😂
Get it!
I Almost have 1000 miles on my Trail Boss . I’m loving every mile I put on it and get lots of compliments 👍🏻 AEV is supplying all the skid plates and protectors for the Colorado basin, waiting till they can start selling skid plates for the trailboss.
Me too!! Once they start selling I’ll be grabbing a set !
Interested in what sliders you find. I have an AT4 looking for the same
I’m super picky so it might take me a little bit. I don’t wanna settle for cheap ones, the aftermarket game may need a little bit more time. I heard Rocky Road is okay but some reviews were a little unsettling.
I'm still waiting on mine 😑 can't wait for it though.
I got the Carhartt sest covers for the front and back. Little pricey but im glad I went with something strong. They look good too
Yeah, I definitely like those, will probably be my next ones once my front wears out
Redline hood struts, you're lucky, the website say it's shipping in october!! Nice mods, I have a Canyon AT4, 5000km, no problem.
Love the AT4! Yeah man red line sold out quick!!
It is such a good looking truck. Not ridiculously priced and may be the fit for my overlanding build I have been dreaming about. That and pull an off road trailer.
It’s the perfect truck for what you’re asking at the best price point. In my opinion, I looked at the Tacoma, gladiators, Ranger and Nissan, but ended right back to Chevy being the best bang for your buck with the technology and quality that you’re getting.
Ironbison makes some incredible rocker steps. Very sleek design
I second this. Just installed mine yesterday.
@@grant1751 does it protect the rocker as a slider ? Or just a step ?
Great job on the mods! I almost bought a Trail Boss or an AT4, but my dealership got an allocation for a ZR2 so I dropped 500 to reserve it. Gets built on Monday so I hope it's here by the end of the month. The only thing sadly I didn't get on mine is the technology package, but that made the truck under 50k before taxes and with my military discount. I'm for sure going to look into the center console cover you did and the hood mounts.
Brother, you may want to reconsider and get that tech package! That includes all your cameras. If you’re already paying that much money, get the exact build you want. Wait for it!
@jessaandtravis Sadly with the UAW strike this month and many ZR2s not made yet they are the only Colorados with markups. I was lucky my local Chevy dealership doesn't charge over MSRP. A few in Indianapolis charged 4 and 5k over sticker and that's not even including stupid add ons like vin imprints or locking lug nuts for 300. I'm not going to reward shady car dealers just cause of one package.
nice mods where are you at in va beach. would love to for offroading with ya looking for people . i have the hood redlines as well. put in some leds in the map light and back seat. and switch backs for the turning. got it icon rockline cermic from cermick kinds of va beach. chevy did not give me my black rims i wanted they ran out . so i am thinking of getting some 32 tires and rims . I got a tanno from tannopro love it. can send you a link . mine is a z 71 so only half led gm was lazy not wrapping them all in leds.
Definitely, I’m near greenbrier but we go off-road often. Heading back to the George Washington National Forest on the 9th staying the night there, trying union springs route. Do you have instagram where we can connect ? Wish I had LEDs but not to big of an issue
Goodmorning verry good couples Coupls❤
Good Morning Jessa and Travis.Long time no see kamusta.
Jessa, you guys totally need a side by side!
I love my Trail Boss, and have done some of the appearance mods you have. We have similar trucks. It is however disappointing that sheet metal on the roof can't handle the blowers at a touchless car wash. It looks like Tarzan, but is built like Jane. I'd like to put factory style Z71 foglights in the Trailboss/WT slots.
Absolutely, besides the blowers it does pretty good 😂 We are totally looking at a side by side.
I want some raptor lights for my trailboss Colorado also 🙌🏽
That would look sick!!
I was waiting on the new Tacoma, Hybrid... The new Colorado completely surprised me. I was at my car mechanic's shop, and a auto parts delivery guy pulls up in a 2023 Tacoma, WT in sand beige. I got my 2023 Trail Boss within a week. Not a large selection right now, in SoCalif. Mine is blue, about 300 miles on it. I love it a lot. Too much tech crap, I can do without. Over all, Im very happy. Im guessing Toyota never saw this coming.
Toyota is going to have to definitely keep up with the market. Meaning they need to give their Tacoma’s more power and possibly a new style and upgrade the technology. Chevy hit a home run with this one because it has everything in a moderately affordable package.
The only issue I have had a couple of times in 1500 miles is Sirius not loading...did a battery disconnect reboot and it reset both times....was advised you can do a reboot with phone button on the steering wheel as well... also advised that changing the quick startup setting may help....
That’s odd, yeah infotainment has some quirks for sure. I use my phone and not Sirius xm so not much experience there.
Was it difficult changing the logos to black? Can u do a quick video of how you did it, and also the front lower bumper piece you took off I'm assuming looks great how hard was that to do.? I just purchased the Blue trail boss and so far so good knock on wood. Thanks

Hit1200 miles today, plowing through snow drifts here in Montana
That sounds like so much fun, I wish we had snow here
Where did you get your front license plate bumper?
The dealer installed the front plate
Hi, can you post a link for the hood insulator? Thanks
I went to the dealer and they ordered it for me
I want led tail lights mine is all blacked out
Do you notice on cold startup is very noisy for 30 seconds sounds like muffler is hitting a heat shield or has a loose baffle?
No, nothing rattling or clanging.
Did you get those tires from the dealer? I thought the only option is 275 /65/18 mud tires.
They ordered them separately for me
Hey Travis, My Trail Boss also didn't come with the Hood Insulator. Did the Dealer pay for that or did You?
If you call service they’re able to actually look up to see what your truck should’ve came with, however, my dealer was taking too long with the politics of it all so I paid $12 for it and installed myself.
@@JT4X4OFFROADING my build was missing the freakin trailer hitch mount. all the rest was there wireling bar and so on still fighting with them on that. you can not buy the hitch mount by its self the dealer said have to buy the whole smash but i am paying that since i allready did .
@@robdfar That’s crazy quality control is just lacking
Do your new 34" tires rub on the from at all?
No rub even at full tuck
Rough Country has your lift kits. I am looking at adding the 2" lift kit for $100
I would wait for an actual suspension lift! Waiting currently for a good one
My 2023 trail boss my turbo blew up at 2500 miles so of course it happend on Labor Day weekend so going to call on Tuesday
No way! That is crazy! At least your getting a new turbo I take it ? Some quality control issues are to be expected on newer models but dang
@@JT4X4OFFROADING I’m not to sure I hope they will make it right and not take forever. Other than that I love the truck but it is meant to be drove not just sit there and look pretty
First of many cough cough*
589fab has a winch bumper for non-ZR2 Colorado.
I’m waiting for 589 to put it on a Colorado so we can get a good idea what it looks like
If you were to drive on main roads pavement, would think the HO tune is worth it. You said you notice it's more off road if your not going off road a lot then??? Your thoughts Thank you
I would say you’re going to notice it in low gear, off-road scenarios more often than you would notice it on road. Being that it’s only about 30 foot pounds, it’s more noticeable at boost in low gear.
@@JT4X4OFFROADING Thanks you
One quick question love my 23 trail boss with leer cap. I think it runs a little rough when cold but when it warms up it is super smooth . Have you noticed that a little bit . Love the channel Thank you
Thank you for the support! I haven’t noticed any rough idols or running, however, I believe there is a TSB out for the fuel injectors or something of that nature. I’m gonna have them check it when I bring my truck in for the oil change before our trip trip this week.
@@JT4X4OFFROADING Under further review is not my truck that feels like Its missing Its the road. long story but no doubt now. It is stiffer than my 23 TRD just not quite use to yet. loving it though Cheers
@@BPAX did you get the injector update ? Did it help?
Yes It was updated before I purchased It. It's that particular stretch of road . Also went in to the dealers parts and ordered the HO accessory 395.00 knowing the owner of the dealership he said they would calibrate for free nice. Cheers@@JT4X4OFFROADING
Thought I would update you Guys. I asked the Dealer about my Hood not coming with a Hood Insulator.
They are able to see that my VIN# shows that it should have been installed at the Factory. Long Story, Short they said that GM will issue a Recall or Campaign to Correct this Issue. However I did not want to wait and Also just Bought the Part and Installed it Myself. They did say if the Recall is Issued I could be Reimbursed.
Excellent! I’ll be looking for my reimbursement too lol Thanks for the info!
rock sliders and rear lights should be a direct fit from the GMC
My truck just turned 1k miles,,it’s not my daily though, I’m waiting for my thick Chevrolet letters for my tailgate, their black with red outline,,, I got my gold bow tie with chrome outline hitch cover,,, it really looks good,,again what do I tell them at dealer to get the 430 torque ,,it doesn’t have it,,they don’t know what I’m talking about,,please tell me word for word so I know what I’m talking about,,thank you!
Hey! Check my video out on the High Output Tune, this should help you!

Also here is the TSB Link: www.tsbsearch.com/Chevrolet/23-NA-081
Your dealership needs to order this and it will be mailed back to the dealership with the RWQ code that they needs for the TSB.
Tell them you want to download the high output tune
looks better without the steps 👍👍
How noisy are yor tires on pavement and highway speeds
Not too bad, little noise but not bad honestly
That didn't look like a dog toy. Sorry. Nice truck tho
Lmao
The 2024 bison has a larger lift than the ZR2, why can’t you look into that??
I just can’t justify spending over 60K on a midsize truck otherwise I would! Love the truck for the current price!
@@JT4X4OFFROADING What I meant was, looking at the bison lift kit for your truck, you know it will fit because it’s meant for the Colorado. Good luck 👍
@@devinhawley2898 Great idea I’ll have to check to see if it’s out yet. It will require new A arms so it could be pricy. I expect 2K
3:54 That's a dog toy...right. 😉
😋
Lol yes it’s a dog toy 😂
3000 miles lots of issue s. On mine
I’m sorry, it seems that about 1% or less had some QA issues!
@@JT4X4OFFROADING I know 6 people in texas with a trail boss. 5 have had lots of problems ..it sucks
Damn dude that sucks to hear. Mine has been fine so far. Hope Chevy is honoring the warranty on those lemons.
If you're looking for ideas, I went with a cravenspeed stubby antenna so it doesn't look like a remote control car. No issues with it.
Lol Great idea
