I am the kinda woman that does all my own work, I bought my truck a week ago and immediately started ordering mods. Keep posting!! I love and need! these hands on how to videos It helps me when I’m doing the mods I did a lot of mods to my 2016 Colorado and blowback from the intake with oil residue is a thing. I hope you come out with a blowback catch video soon. Definitely a must install.
Hello! Great video we always appreciate seeing our parts featured and discussed, one thing to note, the oil you're seeing at the blow off valve adaptor is actually blow-by that is running through your PCV system due to factory inefficiencies. We'd recommend an oil catch can to help catch blow-by and reduce carbon build-up in your intake manifold. Thanks for your support!
@@BadlandIndustries For anyone that is wondering: Blow-by is definitely super common now among most modern turbo direct-injection engines. The reason there is oil coming out of the adaptor is because there is a lot of blow-by going through the turbo, charge pipe and PCV system that the system is not properly containing within the engine, the blow-by tends to escape via the vent in the BOVA.
@@BadlandIndustries We are actually considering creating a vehicle specific kit soon for the Canyon/Colorado and will 100% keep you posted when they are developed! We'd be happy to discuss getting one out to you when they are out!
I'm kind of surprised no one has made a catch can setup for this truck. The oil in the intake issue was/is an issue on Mavericks and a catch can was brought to market extremely quick. I'll be getting one of these though for sure, definitely a gimmick but fun enough.
If you start going down the rabbit hole you'll find gm incorporated a baffled pcv system on the side of the motor. I do intend to do some testing of my own.
So I want to do this bad! And I just got a 24 Canyon..with extended warranty. I'm not a car guy whatsoever..but you make it seem rather easy..enough that I am about to try it. Anyone know if doing something like this would void warranty??
After you installed the adapter, did you notice a rougher idle on cold starts? I just installed one of these on my 24 colorado and immediately noticed the truck seemingly struggling on cold start ups, only until the truck warmed up for a minute then it smoothed out. Didn't know if you had any insight on why this may happen. Appreciate the video man gave me a great walk through on how to do it. Thanks! 👍
My truck used to idle rough but I attribute that to the injector issue they had. Honestly large displacement 4cyl motors are just vibratory. I didn't notice any difference with or without the spacer. It's sealed unless it's venting when you let off, so there wouldn't be any difference at idle.
If you've watched any part of my channel you'll know I have a ton of off-road miles. It's constantly blowing air out so I'd be impressed if it failed due to dirt in the seat
Did this ever cause you to get a P1101 code? Happened to me a couple times during some long highway driving but unsure of a direct correlation with BOV as I'm also running a Pedal Monster and recently had put in a new K&N engine air filter. Had it looked at by local shop who couldn't replicate or determine source. Cleared the code and it hasn't come back in at least a week but haven't been on the highways much. 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X. Appreciate your videos, not enough Canyon mod folks so please keep it up!
I installed one a couple of days ago and yesterday on a 2 hour drive, my check engine light came on assuming because of the BOV. Have you still been having this issue?
I can't see how. It literally moved the stock actuator away from the turbo housing by an inch. I personally have almost 20k miles on mine and zero issues.
I can't see how but my dealership just told me my wheels and spacers need to be removed before they look at my steering rack noise despite them being on the truck for a few thousand miles and the noise being present for thousands of miles before that. I guess if they can deny coverage however they want but the way this spacer works I cannot see how it would hurt anything.
Oh okay thank you! Because I just installed my spacer with your help but then engine light came on because of the evap pump don’t know if they are related
Lastly, if you got the extended warranty for your truck I suggest to take off the blow off valve adapter prior to taking it in for any suspected warranty issues as the warranty company & or even the dealership, from which the truck was purchased, will deny warranty due to aftermarket installs My 2.7 Sierra had the engine replaced at 92k+ miles and the warranty company sent out a third party inspector to verify that there was no aftermarket installs before approving the warranty labor and parts
I JUST brought home a 24 ZR2 TODAY! .. think this is cool but will look for a cheaper unit (its simply a cnc spacer) .. casual COOL on these trucks, but RICERS are annoying douchebags .. lol
Not sure what benefit this mod offers. All this for a wooosh? I think less is more. If it can eliminate the whistling noise the turbo makes under load that would be great.
If I wanted a rice burner, I would have bought one. Instead I bought a truck for it being a truck and doing truck stuff. So, I think its a useless, gimicky mod and waste of money.

I have a video planned to test this theory. These l3b motors are supposed to have a coalescing drain back style system.

@BoombaRacing Do you guys have a catch can that we can test and review?
@@BadlandIndustries We are actually considering creating a vehicle specific kit soon for the Canyon/Colorado and will 100% keep you posted when they are developed! We'd be happy to discuss getting one out to you when they are out!
@BoombaRacing I am working on a video topic about the PCV and would love to collaborate with you
It's worth the smiles. Take it off when the smiles wear off
Sounds good, I love the sound and don’t have a turbo or a manual so to be able to put this on an automatic gets me excited to put one on my car
It's silly but I like it lol

The sound is definitely cool ! No one can dispute that .....
30 mins is good for it to be considered a 2 beer install
I think the preceeding amount of beers would dictate the amount of beers it would take to install. Lol
@@BadlandIndustrieswhat are ur thoughts on a catch can ? my truck has the same engine with turbo and im thinking of putting one on
lol was gonna say that’s a hot beer for 30 minutes
@VeteranParanormal1 only if you're not using a koozie
love your vids. got me a 24 canyon elevation and purchased your BOV and waiting on intake. more vids pls!
Right on! I'm on the fence on the intake but I've got several videos coming soon I think you guys will like.
So I want to do this bad! And I just got a 24 Canyon..with extended warranty. I'm not a car guy whatsoever..but you make it seem rather easy..enough that I am about to try it. Anyone know if doing something like this would void warranty??
They would have to determine that this caused an issue. I've had this on the church for several thousand miles with no issue.

Cool thanks man. Keep doing the lords work on here 👍
Cool sound! Nice presentation. Thanks.
Definitely seems fun I’m getting one now 😂 thanks man
I am actually working with a supplier to bring you guys some that are a little cheaper.
that oil is from your pcv? Seems like a lot of blow by. Maybe a catch can would help?
So that the conundrum we're dealing with. The 2.7l has a built in baffle system that's supposed to mitigate that. I'm planning on doing some testing.
Love the sound, but not worth any possible issues after seeing the oil blowoff issue. Great video though
I'm still looking into that oil issue but so far I don't have anything wrong with the truck.
That oil issue thank goodness isn't affecting 95% of the owners, very limited.
Im hooked, Im hooked I subscribed
That sounds is priceless
Liked because you're nice to your dog.
Thx, she's great!
So when you installed valve is it pointed down? I do a Ton of off road and drive in very wet conditions. Worried about fine gravel in the port.
If you've watched any part of my channel you'll know I have a ton of off-road miles. It's constantly blowing air out so I'd be impressed if it failed due to dirt in the seat
Did you ever figure out where the oil leak is from? Is it from the blow off valve replacement?
I am assuming it was just a product of breaking in. I don't have any evidence of in continuing now at 15k miles.
Could you make a video on on how you add you shocks to the hood I was shock when in open the for the first time and there was no shocks
I can. I thought there was some on UA-cam already.
I would install an “oil catch can” to solve the oil splatter/mess.
Hey man it clearly adds Smiles Per Gallon
Egr block off plate? Works for my e46 m3 track car
Can this thing be installed on a small, unpowered turbo engine with side mounts?
It's intended for a specific engine
Why wouldn't you want that air to be pushed back into the intake? Isn't intake boost better than just releasing that pressurized air outside?
It only blows off when you're off the accelerator and shifting gears typically so you don't want full boost when that's happening anyway

Never got a code once. I'm at 13k miles now.
Sometimes the oil from the k&n filter can get on the sensors and throw a code.
@murfyslaw8889 this is factory paper filter.
I installed one a couple of days ago and yesterday on a 2 hour drive, my check engine light came on assuming because of the BOV. Have you still been having this issue?
@brandonrichards2357 never once got a code for the bov. What code did you end up getting?
Hi I put a blow off valve on my silverado a few weeks ago. And it have kick on my check engine like about 5 times. Has this happened to you?
Not a single code. What code was yours?
I think it's kinda gimicky, but if you enjoy it then that's all that matters. Not something I've got to worry about on my '06 Canyon lol.
It is for sure.
08:50 - Don't care. Sounds Kickass
Where you buy it ?
It comes for sierra 3.0?
I bought this one from boomba racing
so where info on flashlight

Couldn't this void your warranty?
I can't see how. It literally moved the stock actuator away from the turbo housing by an inch. I personally have almost 20k miles on mine and zero issues.
What about a catch can for a mod?
You should check out my recent shorts. I just did a test to see whether if not it needs one.
add an intake and a less restrictive exhaust and you'll hear lots more turbo noises.
All of that is coming soon
Gimmicks are great.
Dope 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I subbed 😂in the 1st 30 seconds
Appreciate it buddy

@@jsamudio11 not likely. You need to make sure all the lines are reconnected and you've reinstalled the intake properly.
Any horse power gain?
No only sound. Just vents the the blow off valve to the atmosphere instead of back into the intake.
Oil splatter? O wouldn't touch blow off valve with 10' pole
Hasn't done it since so I wonder if it was just oil sitting in there from assembly or breaking in the motor
I didn't even notice the sound difference on the video.
Other than the pssht sound there is no difference
So does it improve performance or? Did I miss it?
Nope. Just makes a noise
Way more professional than my video 😂 also I did notice a bunch of oil residue in my intake when I install mine a bit nerve wracking lol
Check your bov in a few thousand mile and see if you had oil in there too.
@@BadlandIndustries I bet I do :/
Has anyone found an oil catch can for these inline 4 cylinder engines?
@Roberto-gp3yx I did a test recently. Check my shorts for the two videos.

you can find them cheaper. i simply wanted the blue and bought this long before my truck arrived.
the 2.7 burns oil + this? Nope.
Does the 2.7 burn oil or does it get sucked out via the crankcase vent? I'm working on testing that.
It gets sucked out through the case vent
Not sure what benefit this mod offers. All this for a wooosh? I think less is more. If it can eliminate the whistling noise the turbo makes under load that would be great.
Like I mentioned in the video, it's gimmicky but some people like it, others don't.
I cant stand those rediculous ricer car blowoff sounds …that and bagpipes 😜
Well definitely don't install bagpipes on your vehicle.
They void ur warranty
Better not install one on your truck.
Someone needs to create & Sell a (It Will Void Your Warranty) back window sticker to those who always worry about others!
If I wanted a rice burner, I would have bought one. Instead I bought a truck for it being a truck and doing truck stuff. So, I think its a useless, gimicky mod and waste of money.
I would posit a tiny 2.7l 4cyl motor in a truck is a far cry from what you would expect in a "truck". Like I said in the video. Gimmicky, absolutely.
Do you have a gen 3 Colorado or Canyon?
Will it void the factory warranty?
I can't see how.
