Frontwoman Skye “Sever” Sweetnam says about “Bad News”:
"I'm sure many people can relate to feeling like everyday is 'Bad News' over and over again. There was a point in 2020 when I was so glued to the news and current events it felt like my personal identity was fading away into an abyss and replaced with a scrolling, media consuming robot. It made me miserable, but I felt like I had a responsibility to know what was going on. It took me a while to peel myself away from the constant barrage of negativity and find a balance."
Sweetnam adds about the video:
"The music video was really fun to film. I'm so lucky to have band members who are willing to get pretty weird with me. Once the make-up and prosthetics were on, the guys and I came to life as our Cyco Terrornaut family. I included some obnoxious color combos that almost make you question your sanity when you watch the video."

First thing I saw and heard was a heavier version of No Doubt. And that ain't a bad thing. I'm a fan right after hearing this band just now. Very cool

Why Sumo Cyco is so good? First of all, they have their own style and we can't compare them (ok a bit of No Doubt maybe). Skye and the band are the complete artistic package. They have create a universe, they create their videos and overall, the WEIRD factor is AMAZING!!! From song to song you have something different, mixing Metal, Raggae, Pop, Punk Rock and more... My prediction... This year, Initiation will be on the TOP 10 of many listeners and magazines. Why? Because it's Sumo Cyco!!! By the way, a huge thumb up to Napalm Records for having them under their wings.
I listen to a lot of metal bands and never leave a comment but I just want to say that this band is amazing! I hope to see them live one day!

to think, a year ago i had no idea who you guys were, other than Skye, but i was listening to metal bands, and playlists on spotify and one band led to another in the "bands similar to". Now Sumo is a band ill follow till the end. So underrated.
