Seen this twice already. What blew me away right from the start (april 2018) was that, not only do you have every single official Zappa-release, but also every cd-reissue of every album! Bill's Box Of Sound, you have no competition in this field - I've checked, and no one is even close to your level of completeness, enthusiasm and attention to detail. And you're so to the point! I really really like your FZ-videos. Thank you once again. 🙏
I just started getting into Zappa around the time that Lumpy Money and the other project/objects came out. Best decision EVER!!! I’m mainly familiar with his early stuff (60s-70s) and the Yellow Shark. Still have a lot to explore
You'll love it, it's a great way of life. My first immersion into the Zappaverse was Sheik Yerbouti in 1979. I was in my junior year of high school, and I have not looked back. Turns out that all I needed to know I learned from Frank Zappa.
Thank Bill for another boffo episode of Posthumous Zappa CD releases!!! Another good reason for having "Zappatite" is the fact that they didn't use the same Rykodisc remasters that were used for "Strictly Commercial" .
I was disappointed Crux of the Biscuit - I guess I was just expecting more for an Object. But it also may be Frank knew EXACTLY what he wanted and the band he had could execute it. Uncle Meat is my favorite Zappa album, and Meat Light is great.
Had anything happened for Frank Zappa to have run for, and be elected President, Itwould have been a very unique 4 years. To be honest, I think the arts and Ayn Rand type of individualism would have seen some encouragement from his administration. Can you imagine an executive order for all of us to read The Fountainhead? But more to the point, I was happy to see the release of Meat Light as part of the Project/Object series. I have the 1995 CD package of Uncle Meat and the remixing is not too out of line. But the added reverb does get distracting at times. I guess it was felt that the master tapes needed a little someting extra for CD release. 21 years of refinements in digital technology later, we have Meat Light, and the original mixes of Uncle Meat are restored. Now we can appreciate Uncle Meat in the 21st century as our ancesters did in anno domini 1969. As it was the last Zappa album released before men from Earth walked on the Moon.
I Caught That Mis- Print In The Spine Numbers Upon release Too...Still Has Me Confused, But I Go By The release List.. Also Too My ASTONISHMENT.. There Are 77 Halloween Box Sets still Available From Zappa Website...$99.. I Just Checked & Cant believe it..Only 5000 Made!! How is this Possible?? I May Buy Another One ....
