Hi. How are the bilge pump doing currently? I kinda want to use it for 24/7 in my 6000 liter fish tank. Its cheaper & use less W than AC pumps. Even larger flow rate. Im planning to use solar too

You are getting pretty good performance out of that Rule pump. Bilge pumps are not rated for continuous duty. If that pump dies, look at the Livewell pumps. They look the same but are rated for continuous duty.

*I killed off that first Rule bilge pump. Neglected cleaning the screen/pond. So, prob would have lasted a lot longer. The Shoreline pump is terrible. I will check out the Livewell units. Thanks*

Such a sweet setup! Video is great, really like the background music too. What is the mic you are using, super clear and good volume?

*Fifine USB condenser studio microphone. I overlay the raw video with narration using this microphone. $22 on Amazon:* www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D4HTIOY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks for the pump info. I'll be messing around with aquaponics at some point no doubt so I've been keeping my ear to the ground about pumps. What's with the two big orange / red lights at 3:27?

*You're welcome! Those lights can be switched on/off. Don't want any taxiing aircraft hitting my solar panels! (j/k)*

I have tested one of these pumps for the last month, 8 hours a day on a solar panel, it leaked in less than a month.
the seals for the power cables and the seal for the impeller drive shaft are woefully inadequate for salt conditions.
not worth buying. look for a brushless option with no direct drive.

Hey Chris. Did you see my response to your question about the EcoWorthy MPPT controller on my video? Hope it helps.

Could it be that your panels are flat and not angled. Mine in the uk is at roughly 45° to maximize the suns Ray's and of course facing south

Have you thought about a Midnight " Kid" Controller ?

*Had a couple of those...and still one of the best small 30a units out there with high input PV volt capabilities. There are some things it needs to improve upon tho. Thanks for watching*

Not made for the higher voltages I was using. Replaced one this spring, running it at 12.0v 24/7...still going strong
