Journalling can come in many different shapes and forms. While it's been an activity I've dipped in and out of for most of my life, it wasn't until I tried a new way that everything changed. In this video I chat to you about journalling, my practice and answer your questions.
Join me here and on my Instagram (bit.ly/halfofc...) as I share my journey to continuously show up for myself!
As always I am not a medical professional/therapist and you should always seek medical advice prior to making changes to your diet. The content of this video is my experience only and in no way should be a replacement for professional advice.

I’ve found morning pages worked best for me when I write all 3 pages on the same page. Just writing over my writing. It is truly illegible and totally frees my mind from the “will someone read this” thoughts.

I had a very humiliating experience when I was about 14 because someone read my journal. Since then I don't write anything I wouldn't want anyone to read. For me, it would have to be shredded afterwards or it would not be any help.

@@HalfofCarlamaybe you can try a Rocketbook notebook. It’s an erasable reusable notebook. I have written raw entries and you have the option of scanning and saving or you can just erase i (with a wet microfiber cloth). I erased a journal entry recently that I felt was too much but it helped to get those thoughts out. (The pens unfortunately run out kind of quickly with the way I write, maybe 3 months is the longest one of mine has lasted, but you can get refills) erasing is therapeutic for me and I don’t have to press too hard on the erasable paper so it doesn’t tire my hand.

You've been talking about journaling for so long that now with this video I might actually get started!
Also just a little update, thanks to your videos I'm down 40kg now since the end of October. I'm 91kg now so officially not obese anymore! I haven't been this weight since I was 14. I remember hitting that number at that age and being desperate about it, dieting hard for a few weeks, binging and ending up being 135kg 4 years later.
Still about 25-30kg to go. But I'm so excited I actually cry if I think too much about it.
Thank you for all the help that you put out there, hopeful that it will reach the right people! It did😘

Congrats!!! I'm so happy to hear about your journey, it really inspires me to keep going 💓 I would like if you share more details ( if possible! ) about how you did it! Like how and what you ate and what type of exercise you did. It is impressing to lose 40 kg in 6 months! So I would like to know how did you feel through out the journey. I'm 83 KG ( was 85 last week) and my plan is to go down to 60 KG. I would appreciate any advice!
Thank you and I'm sorry for the long rant :)

🖋 I relate to the perfectionist "all or nothing" and totally appreciate how counter productive it can be. I especially have been the person who procrastinates on proper tools amber most effective methods, so your examples of just getting a journal instead of 'the journal' and not worrying too much about doing it with therapy made a lot of sense. I think I could write "I am a person who has journaled and has found helpful solutions. I regularly prioritize my own calmness." Thanks for sharing!

I used to write poetry for years. Even won a couple of writing contests when I was in high school. I’ve always wanted to write a book. If I had a $ for every time someone has said to me “you should write a book”, after I’ve told stories about things I’ve done, or seen, or happened to me, I’d have a lot of $$!😄 But, many years ago, after I was divorced, I wasn’t able to write anymore. It just stopped. Maybe journaling can help me get it back. 🤔✍🏻 PS-Carla, that neckline looks stunning on you!

Thanks Carla I have been writing Morning pages for 8 years and rarely miss a day. I write 3 A4 pages and believe me I have no problem filling them. When I do I write I have nothing to say 3/4 times and the flow starts again . I rip mine up after I finish. They have been free therapy for me over the years. I love the idea of the question at the end of the day I am going to implement that when I am filling in my gratitude journal. Superb video and you articulate the method extremely well thank again.
