My family and I took PAL in 2008 from the USA…. To be honest it was the worst customer service ever. The stewardesses were very grumpy and not willing to help.
Both flights were horrible…. Never took PAL again and never will.

Their crew reserve their courteousness and friendliness to foreigner most of the time and snobbish to Filipino specially if they look like a middle class citizen. The only reason I choose them is because of the non stop flight. Thats all. Their service is behind compare to Singapore, Japan , Emirates and almost most international airlines.

I experienced the same thing, that’s why I don’t fly with them… my first and last year 2014
They don’t clean restroom and service was Sucks*****
Imagine this , you have to chase them instead of asking you if you need coffee, they are so aloof and pouting…
    They don’t clean the area….
Not like EVA air they are pleasant , always smiling, graceful, helpful and compassionate…
Eva Air cleans the restrooms every time someone use it…

I just returned to the States on June 20, 2023 on flight PR 126, Manila to JFK. I flew on Business Class and my experience was ok and tolerable at best. Check in was smooth. I was directed to a Lounge which unfortunately was full and I had to be directed to another lounge close to the entrance of Gate 2. It was half full and the seats were pretty much comfortable. They had a moderate selection of food and drinks and my favorite was the arroz caldo. Boarding was delayed for an hour but as I was expecting the worse, it was better than 2-4 hours. The flight was uneventful. I had the usual business class service. The crew was professional and I did not notice them making unnecessary noises like some other complaints. The only thing I noticed though was their attitude and treatment towards foreigners. I’m disappointed to witness how much friendlier they are and so deferring. Foreigners get served first and the crew took more time in accommodating them with the menu. No big deal but as we were deplaning, my morale got hit bad when I saw the foreigners get more goodbye greetings with wide, big smiles. I laugh at this and yet I couldn’t feel but disappointed and demoralized.

Philippine Airlines' service is getting worse. They are good in selective services, nice to some, and bad to most. The food is not comparable to most International airlines, bathroom stinks. Flight attendants are so full of themselves, lazy, and do not care. it's not worth the very high fare compared to other 4-star, 5-star or even 3-star international airlines. They are always late, no respect to people's time.

    • @patricki7422
      @patricki7422 Рік тому +2

You do know why they are always late right? When was the last time you saw Filipino Travelers check in early or on time with the alloted amount of baggage? The answer is never. A lot of travelers check in late with lots of additional baggage and 3 or 4 carry ons. Last 2 flights to the Philippines I had to stow my carryon under the seat in front of me because the passengers who boarded first took up all the space with their roll on + backpack + personal bag + computer bag + pasalubong bag + their fragile pasalubong

One of my experiences was this, Ahead of time, I reserved a wheelchair for my father who was 79 and had Alzheimer and was told they run out of it even though I reserved it a few months ago before our trip so my poor dad after hours of waiting outside looks so pathetic using the aisle chair around. My father passed away and I won't forget that experience with PAL 😢

We booked a direct flight to Manila but received an email from PAL that we will have a technical stopover in Vancouver a week prior to departure and had to pay for isle seat. I paid for this flight about 8 months ago and I specifically asked for a direct flight from St.Louis to LAX because I suffer from Airplane Ears and didn’t want an extra take off or landing because of the excruciating pain I suffer on the landing and take offs. Not to mention the high price I was charged and the shorter flight, but now I have an extra stop and it will take me longer to get to the Philippines. I called them and was told there are no direct flights from St.Louis to LAX

Technical stopover = flight from Toronto was not fully booked so PAL decided to fully book the flight by picking up passengers from Vancouver bound for Manila. This way, they can SAVE money by not flying their other plane from Vancouver to Manila.

I asked for a 3rd glass of wine due to my panic attack and the PAL flight attendant told me sarcastically “Do you want me to bring the whole bottle?” They’re very rude and not friendly at all. They also cancelled my flight one day before my flight to Singapore and I ended up paying more which wasn’t my fault… Calling and talking with their representative was useless. I heard the old man will be taking his medicine! I heard him 5x asking Flight Attendants assistance on giving him water! No Flight Attendants came to rescue! They were just talking to each other what they bought in the US, as giveaways to their relatives! I stood up and stopped one, her response was, she’s busy! Next moved I did talked to the Supervisors, she asked me to identify all the Flight Attendants! When we arrived Manila, the Supervisor approached me and told me that she will wrote a reprimand letter! Unsure, if that really happened! PAL IS NOT A SENIOR CITIZEN FRIENDLY AIRLINES! Last November 2022, my husband and I planed in from LAX to MNL via PAL. Unfortunately, during our checking-in of our baggages, I forgot to put locks on them. I was a bit worried during our flight that we might lose things in our luggages. BUT, we were very happy that everything was intact. Thank you! I think, if there were things that were lost in their baggages, it’s not the airline’s fault but the airport people who are managing the transport of baggages from the plane to the carousels.

I will never fly PAL again. The service is bad, there’s only 4 newspaper for the whole airplane, there’s no tv to watch or music. I needed water to drink, I ask 3 different stewardesses and no one gave me water, I waited 45 minutes, so decided to get up and one stewardess saw me, just then she hand me the water halfway from my seat to the kitchen.I board with a bag to put it in overhead shelve, I ask the stewardess to help me, she told me, she needed help too, because her right arm is hurting, I said ok, I will help you with my right arm because I just got surgery on my left arm, the way she look at me, as if she don’t want to help me, I ask help in tagalog and she ignore me, but when I ask her help in English, that’s when she looked at me and give me that excuse that her arm is hurting .I flew from Qatar to the Philippines, the stewardess thought I was a OFW, but that’s besides the point, she shouldn’t look down on OFW, they are the passengers too.
stewardess your a glorified maid in the airplane. Your job is to help and serve your passengers.
PAL needs to fix their airplanes, it’s ok , if it’s only 1-2 hour flying time, but 9 and half hour with no tv,music or some kind of entertainment.
And also, you need to train your stewardess, you need to tell them that they are not a model in a runway, they are glorified maid to serve and help the passengers.I don’t care if it’s half price fare, I will not fly PAL again.

@@riderretired5258 if for example you book your flight from Vancouver to Bacolod, you can check in 2 bags, 23 kilos maximum each and then when you arrive in Manila and transfer to the domestic flight, PAL will not charge you extra. If you connect with a different domestic airline, they charge more $$ for your checked in bags. Sometimes with flight delays and cancellations due to mechanical, “force majeure “ lame airline excuse to cancel and say beyond their control, flight turnaround delays, weather etc, it may be less stressful dealing with PAL for your full trip. After that, I use Cebu Pacific, Air Asia for domestic flights within Phil. Oh, I got caught up in that January 1st Manila airport outage. Pathetic 🤦🏻

So I would rather take the tightest schedule to put me into Manila in 23-24 hours, go straight from airport to a close hotel, get a good nights sleep, then I have a driver pick me up at the hotel in the morning and take me to Angeles. The routes that would also take me into Clark are usually at least $100 more expensive that my choice to Manila, so the extra expense of the hotel and driver to Angeles is a wash with the extra cost. My hubby and I returned to Cebu for good mid 2021 with our 3 dogs. We chose PAL’s direct flight for lesser strain on the pets. Since we had to quarantine for 10 days, I already had planned for my family to pick up the dogs from the airport as we had to go straight to the hotel. I did all my due diligence with documentations and followed all requirements; the last and most important piece was to call PAL and check in the pups with information of the crates sizes, weight of the dogs at least 24 hours before, which I did. Mind you, we already gave this information to PAL upon booking our tickets. On the day of our flight, at LAX, we checked in the dogs and everything went well. There were passengers with several humongous dog crates before us who were taking so long since they were still measuring crates. Perhaps I thought they didn’t call in with the requirements. We were already boarded and there was a long delay. I was suspicious it had something to do with the pets. I approached the steward and only then did they inform us that some of the pets can’t make this flight because they overbooked, and they won’t allow them inside the cabin with us. They asked me if my dog can travel in a later flight. Oh men, 🤯😤. I didn’t scream or throw a fit. I just very calmly told them this flight isn’t leaving LA if my dogs aren’t in it. PERIOD! I had a senior dog on heart medication, one with bad anxiety and the 3rd was just a puppy. Finally some other dog owners gave in, bless their heart. It would have been a pain to start my retirement pursuing legal actions.

Really my wife and I have been treated very well by PAL in the past. Several years ago now (maybe 7 or 8) we had a flight from Toronto to Manila with a quick stop in Vancouver, but carrying on in the same plane. At Vancouver they moved my wife and I to business class at no extra cost and from there to Manila we had the pleasure of being seated right beside Pelita Corales. It was nice to get to know her a bit and get a few pictures with her.
Another time on a domestic flight, I think from Iloilo to Manila a flight attendant notice I didn't have a lot of leg room and asked if we'd like to move to the open seats by the emergency exit.
Certainly PAL is more pricey than some, but all in all our experiences with them have been mostly positive. 😊

My sad experience with PAL just recently PR894 - June 2, 2024, I asked for "kumot" (blanket) because I feel cold that particular waitress replied me that they only have 20% and all was given to 1st class. What I did is just used my bag pack with laptop inside and used it to cover my knees.
Food was not good but no issue about that if that's all they can supply us. But the service of that waitresses didn't use her coconut head that there is some kumot at 1st class that not using and could hand over to people who are very cold at the back.
These waitresses are not offering good service not using their coconut empty brain.
I will not use PAL it was really PAL PAK AIRLINE.

My wife just returned from the Philippines. Her flights with PAL (both on the way and her return flights) were nothing short of TERRIBLE. They were late. Then the flight from ICN to MNL returned to the terminal without explanation. Nothing was mentioned as far as another flight for almost 24 hours. Finally a Cebu Pacific flight was procured and, yes, it too was late. On her return her ticket according to the ticket agent at the counter could not find her ticket. After a while they rebooked her to a flight to HNL. It was late again. As for meals, not good. We will be traveling again (this time together) to MNL using PAL (this was a planned vacation, the prior trip was unscheduled due to a loss in the family). I hope things are better....but I doubt that will be the case. At least they didn't lose her luggage.

Flew PAL last July, flight from MNL to LAX was canceled about 3 hours before scheduled departure. 7-8 hours waiting to get bused to hotel (came from Cebu) waiting again to check in to hotel. No food or water while waiting. Very unorganized, and had only one person working on this. Had to make my own connections from LAX. Replacement flight about 20 hours later than original. No compensation. Checked the flights and this apparently happens a lot. Also as you say in the video PAL flights are known to be late, a quick check will verify this.

I recently flew PAL business class from LAX to Singapore. The plane looked old. The entertainment system was out of order for all seats. There were signs on the screens issuing the usual sorry for the inconvenience and that they would be upgrading the system soon, how soon only God knows. One of the toilets broke down and could not be flushed so they had to close it. My seat had one panel dangling from the frame and looked like it would fall off any minute. My seat would not go to a full flat recline and was uncomfortable all throughout. You think that this would be enough but your real torture starts when you deplane and transfer terminals from 1 to 2. First you are made to wait at a transfer desk where they will get your passport, “ for clearance”. After a 10 to 15 minute wait the passport is returned and you have to undergo X-Ray screening of your carry ons by over eager and over zealous lady screeners. My tape measure was confiscated since “it is no longer allowed”. Mind you this already passed screening by TSA at LAX. As if this wasn’t enough, you are then made to walk up a very steep and narrow stairwell carrying all your luggage. I swear anyone who is old with a weak heart would not be able to bear this torture after a long and uncomfortable flight. There will come a day God forbid that a passenger with a compromised heart will succumb to this ordeal and PAL and NAIA will be sued. This is not the end of it though because you still have to walk to get to your shuttle and God forbid if you ask, “is this the way to Terminal 2?” And you will be answered with a gruff shouting rude female I don’t know what their job is with “YES!”. The shuttle rolls on to Terminal 2 and the attendant goes out and leaves you in the bus to knock at the closed door to Terminal 2. I swear these people are the epitome of incompetence. Shouldn’t they have known a long time ago that there would be passengers arriving? Finally the door is opened and you wind your way a few steps only to find another X-Ray screening machine for your carry on! OMG! What a complete departure from practices by other airlines. I’ve flown JAL with transfers from NARITA to HANEDA and all you had to do is board a shuttle on your own. This practice of PAL and NAIA needs to be reviewed ASAP because it is a sham and a complete shame!

Thank you for doing this Grandpa Vlogger, I have been always wanting to comment on these PAL issues and finally you gave us a chance, thank you.
I do have some good things and bad things to say about PAL. I have been flying with foreign airlines to the Phil but bec of the Pandemic, I decided to fly PAL due to the fact that their flights are direct and avoid the connecting flights to other countries like Japan, Korea or China which may require covid testing, therefore that is a plus for PAL. Yes correct, my last two trips with PAL were late for more than an hour but guess what, both flights arrived on time in Manila (pilot maybe a Manila driver). On my recent flights I like the fact that they recently added new movies on their entertainment system, that is a plus. However, I have the same complains about the flight crew were really noisy at the back that they woke us up several times while sleeping. Regarding the services, it seems like they are always in a hurry as if like they are trying to avoid you from asking something, but food is not bad. I experienced this on my last two trips, I always pay $20 extra for an aisle seat. Both flights were delayed for more than an hour and I do not understand why whenever they change the departure time, my paid seat assignments were deleted even if they were on the
same plane. I always had to call them to give me back my paid seat assignments. Then at one point while I was already comfortably seated, flight crew approached me that someone would like to change seat with me, of course I refused bec I specifically selected and paid that aisle seat, the flight crew should know better that PAL asks $20 for an aisle seat, then why bother ask, what I really didn't like was I was put on the spot that when I refused I looked like a bad guy. Same restroom issue, restroom was filthy and on all previous flights I noticed they were using the same face towel to clean the restroom floor similar to the hot face towel that they are providing to the passengers (I hope I'm wrong). I was going to use the restroom at one point and flush was not working and therefore I called the attention of the crew and he blamed it to the last person who used it saying that there were tissue papers in the toilet, but no, I saw they were only toilet paper and that the
flush was not even flushing at all, it was not like it was clogged, it wasn't working at all, no noise when you push the flush button. The boarding is always chaotic and their process is not always consistent, I guess it depends on the crew at the gate. We were once called to board but then we were stopped to stand on the side of the bridge for maybe about 15mins while letting other people board, they just finally let us continue to board after some people started complaining. My last flight, we didn't get a snack and a hot towel (I was awake the whole flight bec I was watching the new movies) and then when we arrived in LA, it took us about half an hour before they finally allowed us to stand and deplane, it was very slow and I found out that they first unboarded the people with wheel chairs instead of the regular passengers first, therefore, the wheel chairs caused traffic in the bridge.
As mentioned earlier, I have been flying with foreign airlines before and I liked their services and much better Business Class seats but bec of the Pandemic, I chose PAL only bec
of their direct flights but once everything is back to normal then I will resume using the other foreign airlines, unfortunately.
On a different note, I like the Immigration in LA though, its all face recognition now, I didn't have to show my passport anymore, once I put my face in front of the camera, the immigration officer just confirmed my name and let me go, it only took about 15secs. Thanks.

Good day. My wife and I volunteered to give up our seats on an overbooked flight for a free round-trip ticket (LAX-MNL-LAX), and re-booking on a later flight the same day. I caution anyone wanting to avail this "free ticket" for the following. We had to pay nearly $1,500.00 in taxes and seating assignment. The ticket is in the lowest category where you cannot bid to upgrade, nor can you use your points to upgrade. The "Free Ticket" should have been the same category as my original ticket, but it was not. I spent several hours (literally) calling PAL to book the ticket, mainly because they stated that we were "refused boarding" instead of giving our seats up "voluntarily" causing much confusion with PAL operators and supervisors. The ticket is very restrictive and not worth the trouble.

They try to be nice and gave everyone bottle of water, only to make sure you throw it away, because everyone knows you can't carry water over the security check. PAL has never improved. The main reason why PAL is a crap airline is the work ethic of the owner. The guy must have been born into wealth. He has no idea how to run a business. The cancelations of PAL are primarily due to flights not being full. Thus are canceled to ensure a full flight next trip and savings on expenses of a flight. This also happens with domestic travel. Cebu Pacific just as woeful. Clearly from reviews of ppl all over the world who have flown PAL customer service is next too useless. People are not trained to a first class standard. This is all over the phils. The only ppl who travel Phils airlines are 1. Filipino's 2. People who never been on Phil Air and 3 People who have no other choice cos other airlines are booked out.
