Shemp is my favorite stooge. Many people don't realize that the original stooges were Moe, Larry and Shemp. When Shemp left the act in the early 30"s to pursue a solo career, Curley was brought in as his replacement. In 1945, when Curley had his first stroke, Shemp was brought back into the act and kept it going strong. So, especially when one considers the entire stooge story, Shemp was a true lynchpin. After he passed, the trio was never nearly as good as Moe and Larry soldiered on.
@@justinsossa2957 I have to agree with you. Curly was arguably the greatest comedian who ever lived. My personal fondness of Shemp revolves around his timely contribution to the success of the act and his importance to the stooge history.
Geri undoubtedly has fond memories of Shemp and Mort, but she's still confused about Shemp's cause of death. She insists that he died of a cerebral hemorrhage, but everytime I Googled his cause of death, I get the same result-heart attack. I even saw the obituary in one of Moe's books; Shemp's cause of death was listed as a heart attack. Mort didn't live as long as his father (or Curly for that matter), passing away in January, 1972 at the young age of 45, and cancer's what got him.
Amazing. I have so many questions I'd love to ask her. If she graduated in 1948 she's around 93 years old! She looks fantastic and is sharp as a tack! Unbelievable!
Chandler's wonderful grandma!!! this is so amazing! Geri is still lovely today! Hearing her wonderful recollections made it feel like Shemp, Babe and Mort were still alive!! thank you so much, Brad! I will never forget this!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
These stories are absolutely wonderful. It keeps the memories alive. Shemp, was a great person. I know all of the stooges, are looking down from heaven, and enjoying this.
What a classy and lovely lady. I was sorry this interview ended. I could have listened to her for an hour. Real elegance. What a surprise it must have been for her to see Shemp and his wife, Babe, sitting in the back seat of the Cadillac when Mort picked her up to go to the circus. A very enjoyable interview.
As a kid Curly was my favorite stooge as an adult Shemp is my favorite stooge He did a lot of one-on-one scenes with Christina McIntyre 💘 And get paid to do it !!! 😎
She sure is lovely. Sharp as a tack too. I wonder when this was filmed? She said that she graduated in 1948. That would make her 92 or 93 today. She looks and sounds great. Thanks for the stories. I always loved Shemp.
The remaining kids and grandkids need to all get together including Larry Fines family and make an updated real biopic of the Stooges. The one with Will Sasso is horrible. The other tv movie was good.. Atleast think about it lol. Introduce the new generation to the Stooges
Thank you so very much for sharing this wonderful family moment. This information for any loving Stooges fan, is absolutely precious to see. It simply means just so much. I am so glad that such footage thankfully exists. Cheers.

I love Shemp even outside of the stooges. His cameos in Abbot And Costello films are always gold.
I like Shemp As much as the next guy ,but Curly will always be the man

Wow! I never knew that Mort was an innovator, bringing self service gas to the public. I've always heard that Shemp was a really nice guy.
Shemp was also a hell of a boxer too.

Great interview. Would love to hear more about Shemp's relationships with his brothers and what was it like being around Curly, Moe and Larry...
I absolutely loved watching this. You could see the love she had for her late husband, and for Shemp and Babe. Thank you Brad for sharing this.❤

When she mentioned the Sportsman’s Lodge it brought back memories of old Hollywood. I loved that place as a kid.
Bugsy Seagal? You know he was a gambler. LOL Maybe a little more than a gambler. Great interview.

The One With Will Sasso Is Not Horrible It Was One Of The Best Things Ever
@@GeorgeHWBush41 Wrong, it was terrible.
@Curly's Grandson, are there any interviews of Shemp to be found?
The one with Will Sasso wasn't a biopic. It was a remake of the shorts.
@@gardenhose3509 Correct, and it was a flop.

I really like hearing that Shemp had a stable life, and that he was financially stable as well. Curly and Larry certainly weren’t.
i wish i could have met and spent a whole day with moe larry curly and shemp , they were so funny and that would have been the most fun day of my life
Shemp saved the Stooges. Period. We saw what happened when there wasn’t 2 Howards. Nowhere close.

Today, Shemp could be on anti-anxiety meds that would make his life much less stressful.

That’s Mortimer’s wife. I did know Mortimer and her had kid, years back.
So, she's about 94???!!! She looks WAY younger than that!
Thanks for this
Does anyone know when this interview was filmed (year)?
That sounds like Chandler Isaac conducting the interview.
I think it might be Chandler's mother Sandy (Shemp's granddaughter) asking the questions.
What year was this interview filmed?
Love this ❤
Very nice☺️
Great video
Shemp was the Best

I see alot of Shemp in me everybody have a little bit of stooge in them

How old is she now? 95?
I’m not sure if I’m believing this considering she be close to a hundred years of age!
What really took shrimps life?
All about herself, nothing about Shemp
Were you not listening? Besides, the talk was about her meeting her husband.
Just interview the lady in the background... she cant keep quiet
