I love his southern twang in this version. Dude has a massively overlooked vocal range I think. Staind kinda had an esoteric, torn jeans and parliaments type audience, blue collar, but damn has Lewis' vocals hit so many across the fan base of the rock genre. Dude's just fucking awesome. 'So Far Away' is still one I get emotional listening to.
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life I know you'll be a star In somebody else's sky But why Why Why can't it be Oh can't it be mine Best lyricline ever written....
It’s a shame some people feel compelled to scream and seek attention at concerts non stop. Give that guys voice the respect it deserves and listen ffs.
You got that right, that and recording it on their cell phones, go to the show, enjoy what's in front of you, I guess there's no use being a asshole unless you show it.
This is a true musician. He doesn't need the crowds, money etc I bet. He'd be just as dedicated and real if he were playing in a nearly empty bar in some podunk town every Tuesday night
I'm surprised Eddie Vedder hasn't told him to stop signing his songs; being that both are extremely vocal in their opposing political views. I was lucky to see Aaron and Eddie live. Make sure you have both these men on your bucket list.
BLACK LYRICS Hey, oh Sheets of empty canvas Untouched sheets of clay Were laid spread out before me As her body once did All five horizons Revolved around her soul As the earth to the sun Now the air I tasted and breathed Has taken a turn Oh and all I taught her was everything Oh I know she gave me all that she wore And now my bitter hands Chafe beneath the clouds Of what was everything Oh the pictures have All been washed in black Tattooed everything I take a walk outside I'm surrounded by Some kids at play I can feel their laughter So why do I sear Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin Round my head I'm spinning Oh, I'm spinning How quick the sun can, drop away And now my bitter hands Cradle broken glass Of what was everything All the pictures have All been washed in black Tattooed everything All the love gone bad Turned my world to black Tattooed all I see All that I am All that I'll be, yeah Uh huh, uh huh, oh I know someday you'll have a beautiful life I know you'll be a star In somebody else's sky But why Why Why can't it be Oh can't it be mine
I think he first covered this in the 01 or 02 family values tour when he played at the Tacoma dome. He even says he's paying homage since he's in the PNW. In that version, it's flawless. I think in this new version he definitely sings it slower, and with a country twang since he crossed over to county
Like all audiences who like to sing along with musicians, they ruined this excellent rendition. I've been at concerts where I wanted to run up on stage, grab a mic and say, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Paying good money to listen to the drunk guy sitting next to me belting out a song I paid to hear, is BS.
Aaron Lewis is so underrated. Very talented.
That last line brought him to tears. You could feel that he was really feeling it. Beautiful.
Blackness is great because tru light comes from within. Great song, means a lot to me growin up, great band, too. I love pj.
i love how much more wear there is on his guitar compared to 2011 videos. its been putting in work.

BLACK LYRICS
Hey, oh
Sheets of empty canvas
Untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me
As her body once did
All five horizons
Revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed
Has taken a turn
Oh and all I taught her was everything
Oh I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands
Chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything
Oh the pictures have
All been washed in black
Tattooed everything
I take a walk outside
I'm surrounded by
Some kids at play
I can feel their laughter
So why do I sear
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin
Round my head
I'm spinning
Oh, I'm spinning
How quick the sun can, drop away
And now my bitter hands
Cradle broken glass
Of what was everything
All the pictures have
All been washed in black
Tattooed everything
All the love gone bad
Turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see
All that I am
All that I'll be, yeah
Uh huh, uh huh, oh
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky
But why
Why
Why can't it be
Oh can't it be mine
Yup got me in trouble 😁
This gentleman does an a very good job. Check out the original at mtv unplugged. Eddie Vedder is mind blowing.
Yes bro yes! Glory to both ends
1.25 speed makes it perfect ;)

Indeed
1.15X IS BETTER
I love you baby-4 Eternity!
Awesome song
Quality of recording almost gives Aaron's voice a Darius Rucker lean to it. Now I'll stand by for Staind fans backlash.
