God I feel so stupid now xD Your so right about that. You know what's even sadder? It's not just the cry of a wolf. It's the cry of a LONELY wolf... calling out for its mate
"But he's not you, YOU'RE still the Doctor!" "He needs you; that's very me." This is possibly the most heart-breakingly, hauntingly beautiful piece of music ever written.
This is probably one of the best pieces of music Murray Gold ever composed. So tragic, emotional, and just accentuated an already depressingly sad scene from the show.
what about that of river and her doctor? the fact that the man she loved didn't even know who she was when she died before him, that's heartbreaking :(
It really shows how much music can do, such a shame series 11 lost Murray Gold. I felt like Murray Gold was the only consistent person within the revived show
this theme is nice in a full-circley kinda way, played first quietly in the background the first time Rose enters the Tardis with Eccleston, rewatch it if you dont believe me :P
Something I hadn't realised until recently but this music is even present in 2005's 'Rose'. Listen to when Rose goes into the TARDIS for the first time.
oh damn i'm crying again, it feels like my heart is exploding each time 5:24 : they actually have matching outfits! omg why i've never noticed that before?!
OMG IM GETTING THE CHILLS !!! every single bloody timeeeeee :'( cryinggggggg. and the saddest thought is that, we will never ever hear this theme again..we will never ever hear rose's theme again on doctor who..because shes simply not going to come back..she just isnt going to..ROSE TYLERRRRRRRRRRRRR
A River ? How about a Pond ? Can you ever Clara-fy how much water you will drop? Can you sell the water for a million dollar Bill ? Well Martha-k my words, you'll regret this very Noble choice. Step into the TARDIS.
My favorite piece of doctor who music, reduces me to tears every time, truly a credit to Murray Gold! (Rose was the best, but maybe that's cos I'm so drippy and sentimental!)
I just wanted to drop my face onto my keyboard and just sob my eyes out. This song was the first song I heard, right after a close friend died. He died in my arms... And this... this was just beautiful..
People need to realise that if its your last chance to tell someone you love them, & you have limited time, DON'T TAKE THE TIME TO SAY THEIR FULL NAME! That said, it didn't hurt the scene at all. It was still very depressing when it happened.
Cindy Green ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OH, THE FEELS #RIPROSE #FEELS #DOCTORWHOFEELS

Doomsday was the episode that turned Doctor Who from a good show to an unforgettable show for me, and it was solely because of the heartbreaking ending. After that, not only was David Tennent MY Doctor, but Doctor Who was MY show.
Never fails to make me cry, it's such a banger. I remember when i had the 50th anniversary murray gold CD box set and this song would come on. It jad been years since I've seen Doomsday at that point so i couldn't remember where in Dr Who it came from but I always had a sense of longing and sadness whenever i heard it. In my recent revisit to rewatch every episode of New Who leading up to the 60th anniversary. As soon as i heard the first notes, I finally remembered where the song came from. And boy did the tears come strolling down my face.
OMG I've gone I've actually gone... Not even gonna say I'm not crying... Or there's dust in my eye. I know that everyone else is. It's just such a sad theme tune. Really well written and will never be forgotten as one of the saddest and greatest episodes ever.
Even now, this piece of music is still haunting and powerful at the same time, honestly Murray Gold and Ben Foster were just amazing and so too was the Orchestra!!
Of any movie or show or anything at all Ive ever seen, NOTHING has made me cry so blindingly hard as that damn breach closing scene. That look in his eyes while he's against the wall paired with Rose's breakdown is murder to my emotions. Then as soon as the sobbing slows, they slam you with that damn beach scene. Stoopid show.
Watching in 2020. Remember watching in 2009! Still watch Dr who today. Tennant still retains the crown of being the "best", this song and the emotion behind it proves it. I may be wrong but no other doctor since has had this level of emotion with a musical score.
You are all certainly more than welcome.. I'm glad I could upload it Thank you BBC and MM. All I did was make a couple quick edits. And swoosh off it went.. I'm really glad everyone likes it. It is really awesome.. (Not my doing though. LOL..) 1632 views Wow! Thank you all for watching...... "Clay"
This is seriously the most fantastic track. Love love love it (as well as music for Midnight, weeping angels and the ood song of captivity and freedom!)
This still sends shivers down my spine when I hear it. I watched Doomsday over Christmas and it had me properly crying. Beautiful piece of music written by Murray Gold and it's a real shame he has now moved on from Doctor Who for when Chris Chibnall takes over. I think Jodie Whittaker would have been fun to write for.
@Noon3rs i know what you mean. when i say that scene i was about to cry. i love Rose i started out when she was with 9. when they practically tore her from the Doctor it crushed my heart to a billion little pieces. they were perfect together :,( what they should do is do a mini series if Rose had stayed with the Doctor. what would've happened then? would he still have married River? or would he have picked Rose. hmmm...i wonder....
Makes me cry as the doctor knew rose was the one for him and after dooms day he was never the same. Rose showed him that life was worth living and that even tho hes the last of his kind he has friends and people at cared about him
PEOPLE. Stop arguing about the companions! There is no best companion, or best doctor. NO BEST. They are all amazing. They have to be amazing, or the Doctor wouldn't have picked them up. We should all respect the Doctor's judgement. He never favours one over the other. He remembers ALL of them fondly. He is kind to EVERY SINGLE incredible man or woman he decides to take for a ride, and we should all share that feeling. They are all amazing. Lets leave it at that.
Oh gawd...tears and snot everywhere...THE FEELS! It's amzing how this very melodic yet haunting tune will make whovians experience a whirlwind of emotions! I've come to like Rose's character a bit more after watching season 2...but still not my favorite companion. My heart breaks for the Doctor and Rose being stuck in parallel worlds never being able to see each other again. It's even more brilliantly epic live!
My favorites are Rose's Theme and the Doomsday Theme. I just like them, they're pretty. And sad. And the Doomsday Theme makes me feel like ever thing should be in slow motion.
Only now am I realizing how similiar the vocals are to that of a howling wolf.
a BAD WOLF
Omg... You just made me realize.. I'm so stupid
A lonely bad wolf T^T
God I feel so stupid now xD Your so right about that. You know what's even sadder? It's not just the cry of a wolf.
It's the cry of a LONELY wolf... calling out for its mate
And also "Sad" wolf howling :,(
"But he's not you, YOU'RE still the Doctor!"
"He needs you; that's very me."
This is possibly the most heart-breakingly, hauntingly beautiful piece of music ever written.
this shit old as fuck
This is probably one of the best pieces of music Murray Gold ever composed. So tragic, emotional, and just accentuated an already depressingly sad scene from the show.
"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words; I scatter them in time and space, a message to lead myself here"
Not the good one ! Try another...
SEVEN AND HALF YEARS AND IT'S STILL TOO SOON.
IT'S BEEN THAT LONG REALLY OH MY GOD WHAT.
TIME FLIES WHEN YOU'RE TOO SAD TO DO ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT TO OBSESS OVER FICTIONAL CHARACTERS
AHHHHHH
No time will make it ok it will be 2088 and I will still cry when I hear this song or see the episode
Right?? omg, this episode was too much for me.
kurodoku1998 Hi 10 years later 😉
Roses are Red,
The TARDIS is Blue,
The Doctor once said,
"Rose Tyler I-"
love you...
he said 'rose, I'
TOO SOON
+Nisa Mendes O'brien actually he said "Rose Tyler"
YourFavoritePacman NOoooo. 😭
Cis White Moosey you realize it doesnt really matter right?
I first started to love this melody when I found out that the beat that goes through the whole song, is the sound of Rose's heart.
4:02 Murray Gold's having way too much fun haha
ikr? xD
As he should.
Uh what? He was being a little bit enthusiastic playing the keys. See Keith Emerson playing with ELP live. Now THAT'S a dude having way too much fun.
"TAKE ME BACK!.... Take me back...!" I can hear her voice as clear as day, even now 15 years later.
I can hear the whovians crying in the background
I was one of them lol
HUSH
I try not to
A trick : watch series on flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Finley Jamir Yea, I've been using Flixzone for since december myself =)
Never has there been a story of more woe than this of Rose and Her Doctor…
what about that of river and her doctor? the fact that the man she loved didn't even know who she was when she died before him, that's heartbreaking :(
Leanne Knitter Nah, I hate River lol. I like Silence in the Library though.
lol those were really good episodes!
Leanne Knitter once she told him his name, he knew that she would be the one he loved
At least rose hasn’t had her entire planet destroyed by the master
why is hard to watch or listen to this Doomsday song? so heart breaking!!!
Pasindu Malinda same
It really shows how much music can do, such a shame series 11 lost Murray Gold. I felt like Murray Gold was the only consistent person within the revived show
this theme is nice in a full-circley kinda way, played first quietly in the background the first time Rose enters the Tardis with Eccleston, rewatch it if you dont believe me :P
The bond between Rose and 10 was the most emotional out of all the pairs. It was a bond like no other, which was why it was so damn sad.
Something I hadn't realised until recently but this music is even present in 2005's 'Rose'. Listen to when Rose goes into the TARDIS for the first time.
oh damn i'm crying again, it feels like my heart is exploding each time

The fact that we did in Twice Upon a Time though
The saddest moment in TV history.
Too soppy
freema is so cute.
this song brings back so many memories. The Doctor really loved Rose Tyler.
I can't believe those poor people had to sit there during this...the horror..the horror..
After all this time, it still sends shivers up and down my spine.
omg the sound of the cellos is beautiful
"Not a dry eye in the house, I imagine..." No, Freema, not a single one.
crying again, damn
**cries self to sleep**
You don't get music in the show like this anymore. Beautiful and find myself listening to it routinely.
Seriously, this has to be one of the saddest moment I've experienced in my life... And that means a lot.
i'm crying a river just imagine if i was there i'd die
A River ?
How about a Pond ?
Can you ever Clara-fy how much water you will drop?
Can you sell the water for a million dollar Bill ?

NAH MAN ITS ALLRIGHT I DIDNT NEED MY HEART ANYWAY
Damn Davies! this is one of the saddest endings I've ever seen! Poor Doctor!
You can tell by the silence of the audience that they all know how freaking BRILLIANT this piece of music is
Gives me the goosebumps every single time. The vocals are amazing.
Never fails to make me cry, it's such a banger.

Still brings a tear to the eye! Awesome- the BEST theme ever!!!
fantastic!!!... could have been a BOND theme 👌
My family is watching the episode right now and they are on the beach.
My god.... This is so sad, yet the best piece..
i'm lying here.... curled up to a ball.. sobbing.... such feels. many cry.--
OMG I've gone I've actually gone... Not even gonna say I'm not crying... Or there's dust in my eye. I know that everyone else is. It's just such a sad theme tune. Really well written and will never be forgotten as one of the saddest and greatest episodes ever.
This music kills me every time... it's just so powerful.. I can't take it.
Martha is a very underrated companion.
Even now, this piece of music is still haunting and powerful at the same time, honestly Murray Gold and Ben Foster were just amazing and so too was the Orchestra!!
So emotional...loved the Doctor and Rose!
This piece of music is amazing, greatly written.
Simply one of the best theme tunes for any TV series. Murray Gold knows music.
Yep, still not over it.
I'm literally crying right now. SO beautiful and such an amazingly sad scene
If I was there all you would be able to hear in the silence would be me screeching and crying.
It's not like I set around at home listening to this yelling "He love you Rose! He loves you!" That would be absurd...
Over 10 years later and its still upsetting.
10 years later and I still get chills
Watching in 2020. Remember watching in 2009! Still watch Dr who today. Tennant still retains the crown of being the "best", this song and the emotion behind it proves it. I may be wrong but no other doctor since has had this level of emotion with a musical score.
Legends say while watching this invisible little green mens are cutting onions in Front of your screen.

This piece hit me hard on the show, but this, this just takes it to a whole new level.
It’s been a little over ten years now, and it’s still too soon.
Murray Gold! You are the best!
Murray loves this piece so much he actually performs it himself. X)
He's so cool.
Well that was strikingly beautiful. Don't mind me, I'm just going to roll up in my bed and cry my eyes out.
I love the slight rock feel to this Music Theme,I enjoy listening to it, Love how they put the Electric guitar and Base in there :3
such a great singer. This music is beautiful.
no I'm not... you're crying!!!.
The hel? Where's the cellos solo?! That is my favorite part!!!
The cellos are too good
Exactly...that part was not much prominently heard here ... love that...
This episode was well written, well acted and I have no problem saying my eyes leaked the whole time I watched it.
this is so heartbreaking and beautiful :"( thanks for uploading!
This is seriously the most fantastic track. Love love love it (as well as music for Midnight, weeping angels and the ood song of captivity and freedom!)
Those vocals... so beautiful, yet so haunting.
I was there!! I remember I was quite small and had to sit right at the top
this is a great piece . she is not dead. just on the otherside
damn everytime i cry with that song....
They were playing the fucking scene and my heart just 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😧😧😭😭😭😧😭😭😭😭😭😭😧😭😭😭😧😭😧😧

I can hear all the fellow Whoovians crying in the background.
I'm crying too...
I guess I have never cried harder in DW, although there have been reaaaaally sad moments!!! Scared of the ones who will come :(
really wonderful !!! ruffled me the urge to cry
this made me cry, such wonderful music
Makes me cry as the doctor knew rose was the one for him and after dooms day he was never the same. Rose showed him that life was worth living and that even tho hes the last of his kind he has friends and people at cared about him
If I were there, I would have had to leave so I wouldn't disturb the audience with my sobbing
2:48 made it look like the doctor was regenerating lol
Exactly what I thought end of the stolen earth I'm sorry its too late I'm regenerating

I love this song just for the chilling bass line alone lol!

Freema Agyeman, gorgeous as always
I love this song
I am really really curious :) Tell me... Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy. Whom do you like the most and whom "fewest"?
:D I remember this! I was there :D
My favorites are Rose's Theme and the Doomsday Theme. I just like them, they're pretty. And sad. And the Doomsday Theme makes me feel like ever thing should be in slow motion.
this is an incredible theme
