Kia ora koutou! Watching this episode now enjoying a nice Wolf Blass in Wellington. Bec we are 100%%%, especially Tom it’s all about the window view!! 😊 Totally worth it
Hey Justin 50yrs ago when I was Boy Scout we didn’t have fire starters, they weren’t invented then. If you pull some dead grass or leaves on the ground under the trees and then put small kindling sticks and light that, then start getting larger sticks you will have a fire every time. Keep up the entertaining videos thanks.
Nice to see Hervey Bay again, we have stayed there a couple of times on our trip from Brisbane to Townsville. A lovely area, good to see you guys back on the road. Cheers from the UK.
Great first episode! We save the fluff from the dryer in between camping trips. Even better, stuff empty toilet rolls with it, makes excellent fire starters! Also, collect dried teabags, and dab citronella oil in them. Scatter these in the fire too! No cost, weight, and easy to store!
Jack, Jack, Jack, frustrating for ya, Dad yackin on while you fix ya rod up ready to fish. I thought you had it, haha, next time mate lay rod on your lap that's what i do. 🎣 🐠 Good to see you all out there. Thanks for sharing your life with me. xx
I like to use a fire starter called "Fatwood" about $15 a bag from Bunnings. It is made from pine, the part that has a lot of resign. 1 or 2 in the with a bit of paper or dry grass work a treat. That is my hot tip.
A tip for fire lighters - take the lint from the cloths dryer and in small silicone ice cube tray, melt old candles into lint and wait to set. They burn for around 7-10 minutes. Keep up your safe travels 🚍
Thanks for your video. Flathead, used tin foil scrunched in little ball when we forgot our bait, and it worked really well. We learnt this after forgetting our bait, and had our lunch wrapped in tin foil.
Thanks Guys , enjoyed the video . What a great spot ,hope you watched out for the cow patties around the van . Looking forward to the new series . Stay Safe 👍🍻🍻
Later in the vid you have a bag hahahahahaha, out of the firelighters you bought, I'd go the Samba Fire Wool. Low smell, work well.... Give me the 15c bag tho, 100% of the time. Always have them with shopping anyway so no extra money spent there!
Thanks Guys. Welcome back to camping and Hervey Bay, love the drone shots Justin. Sent you an email last week when I saw you in town, but understand if you too busy to catch up.🤠
Fantastic episode, welcome to my backyard. Weather has been a little average lately. Painful about the waterpark, thought the kids would of frothed at the new skatepark too. Lucky you are not here this weekend has blown it's ass off since Thursday night.
Hey guys! Great video as always!!! Do you know whether this campsite is still active or did the own shut it down? Tried to find it on Hipcamp but the link no longer works?
Yeah not sure I fully agree with these Hipcamp prices mate. $50 bucks for no power or water, well I think is so over priced. For you guys I get why you want to be alone… but most the interactions in a park for the kids is the best part of caravan life seeing them make friends and having a blast.
Ya just gotta pay it these days hey. To go to a van park it’s more like $85 a night and we don’t enjoy ourselves as much as sites like this. We find the kids interact more with other kids at these sort of sites than the van parks hey.
I saw you set up there when I was swimming laps🏊 but didn't want to come bother you, such a beautiful spot❗❗ You got out at just the right time, we have had a week of crazy wind💨
Yeah man, high tide take my surf ski, nipper board and goggles 🥽 Down to the beach there and have a splash. Need a 3m + high tide though. There has been 0 shark attacks on record in Hervey bay so I've got to be bloody unlucky to become lunch 🦈
Wow, how magic to see that mob of friendly emu’s and then the bonus of dolphins from the drone. Thanks again for bringing us along. Did you get to swim with dolphins?
No fire lighters, no problem. An old bushman's trick. Break off a few dead twigs ffom the trees, which are much dryer than any twigs on the ground. Start with small match stick sized twigs, then finger size twigs etc.
Hey guys, after watching your video of this Harvey bay stay, we decided to book on Hipcamp and stay there next weekend for two nights! Booking was accepted, even paid my $6 for eggs… we were excited about our stay. Then yesterday we got a text messsge saying our booking was cancelled! No explanation why it was cancelled. When we tried to contact the host he would not reply . So I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone as the communication with the host of this property is not good. He took my money for 2 nights plus the cost of the eggs, but is only refunding me the cost I paid minus $10??? Again, no explanation why it was cancelled, why I’m not getting a full refund and no communication with me. Very disappointed. I won’t ever book this place!!! But we do love all the other places you recommend! Enjoy your travels! We love watching you guys 😁👍🏼
Great episode guys. Looks fantastic. Whats your take on the Webber being illegal to use on vans? Ive stopped taking ours as im worried id get in trouble but then still see lots of people using them.
Lived in the Bay for 30 years and glad you like the beachfront site at Burrum Heads. Its paradise here.
Cheers mate happy Sunday
Vaseline and cotton balls work's every time
Sounds the goods
❤ Looks like a corker of a hipcamp 👌
Kia ora koutou! Watching this episode now enjoying a nice Wolf Blass in Wellington. Bec we are 100%%%, especially Tom it’s all about the window view!! 😊 Totally worth it
7 Years on the road and you need fire lighters to start a fire.....mate 😂
Awesome little spot that was 🤙🕶

Great ideas
Dorito chips make good makeshift fire lighters. Or melt the Misso's favourite candle and dip cotton wool buds in the melted wax.
Last time the Misso was having a fluff was opening the difficult gate 🤣🤣. Love how you take the piss out of her 🤣
😂😂all good fun

I enjoy watching your vids which I could travel like that.👌
Cheers
A mesmerising view, a crackling fire - you've got it all!! Such a great video, love watching your travels. 💯
Cheers guys
Thanks Guys , enjoyed the video . What a great spot ,hope you watched out for the cow patties around the van . Looking forward to the new series . Stay Safe 👍🍻🍻
Plenty of cow poo in the tyres for sure
Great to see you guys back on the road
Thanks mate
The brown paper bags you get from woolies are absolutely mint for lighting fires.
Later in the vid you have a bag hahahahahaha, out of the firelighters you bought, I'd go the Samba Fire Wool. Low smell, work well.... Give me the 15c bag tho, 100% of the time. Always have them with shopping anyway so no extra money spent there!
your right, haha i had them all in the paperbag
@@TripInAVan firelighters in a firelighter.. Give it a try, I use about 1/4 bag per fire.
Love Ru's hair cheers
so long now
Yeooow! That’s living barry
Save 10 bucks on fuel lighters
And try used paper towels to start fires. Works like a treat

good to see you back - bad luck on the fishing and firelighters, although was a bit concerned about what look like long dry grass behind you
Yep , dry grass and wind and clearance , maybe different rules there
Thanks for the video. Love listening to your adventures 😊
Cheers mate
Great to see you back on the road
Cheers
Looks like good place to relax can’t wait for more episodes
Cheers mate
Great spot! Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Yes! This is what it’s all about 💪🏼💪🏼 have missed seeing you guys hit spots like this
Cheers mate
We are in Hervey Bay at the moment. Lovely place ❤
Great town
M8 you got to soak the red head in lighter fluid for a couple of hours, lol,yep tried them too same thing,
Terrible hey,
awesome spot, brilliant to see you all back out travelling, didn't want it to end,
Thanks Stella
Great vid guy's. Keep them coming.
Cheers
Awesome spot! It's so green and the water looks beautiful 😍
Great camp
Wow what a top spot you guys picked that well and Justin since when do you use sanitizer for a fire ha ha anyhow safe travels
Someone told me hand sanitiser is flammable 😂
Petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and cotton wool balls work a treat for fire lighters 👍🏼
definitely trying this
Hot tip- use corn chips for firefighters, and Aldi often have actual fire lighters for $3-4
Cheers for the tip
Hot Tip..... Alway keep Kero in the Caravan for Fires. Keep you tea bags dry them out and soak them with the Kero. Cheap Fire Starters for years
That’s a great tip hey
You should have seen me trying to open musgrave roadhouse gate! 😅😅
😂
"Fishing with kids is like wiping ya bum with glad-wrap." 🤣🤣🤣!
So true but hey
Thanks Guys. Welcome back to camping and Hervey Bay, love the drone shots Justin. Sent you an email last week when I saw you in town, but understand if you too busy to catch up.🤠
Local fishos were telling me that you can get Barra on that stretch of beach at the right time of the year!
Be awesome to get one there hey
I second corn chips. Always have a bag on hand. The cheapest fire lighter out there.
Best firelighters going around - corn chips
Fantastic episode, welcome to my backyard. Weather has been a little average lately. Painful about the waterpark, thought the kids would of frothed at the new skatepark too. Lucky you are not here this weekend has blown it's ass off since Thursday night.
Wind is crazy! Glad we got a good day
@@TripInAVan yep, don't think it has been much below 25- 30knots since late Thursday night
i live in wide bay area and water park also close for whole winter as well
If you can. Find fire gel. We use it alot when we go camping
I’ve heard this, but I haven’t seen it anywhere hey,
@Trip In A Van - RoadTrip Australia Series bunnings Do it I believe.
If you’re ever stuck in the bush without fire lighters, corn chips work a treat 👌🏽
Hey guys! Great video as always!!!
Do you know whether this campsite is still active or did the own shut it down? Tried to find it on Hipcamp but the link no longer works?
I believe it has closed now yeah. Something to do with council regulations I think
Great ep. Thanks
Cheers
😂😂😂 “I made this salad mate!” 😂😂😂
Another awesome series guys. Love it.
😂😂
corn chips are fire lighters too 😎
They work well for sure
Nice one guys. Looking forward to this series.
Cheers mate
Home made fire lighters - plastic Jar half filled with metho - add used tea bags. Tea bags will burn for 5 minutes - use as many as required.
I like it
I do the same, but use diesel in a glass screw top jar. Dry the used teabags first. Works a treat.

Good idea
Going to be another great series
My missus wants to know where bec got that big coffee cup from thanks
Dried orange peel is a great fire starter
I saw you set up there when I was swimming laps🏊 but didn't want to come bother you, such a beautiful spot❗❗

Swimming laps?? Out the front there

Fire lighters, get a jar, fill with cotton wool balls, add diesel, cheap and easy.
Wow, how magic to see that mob of friendly emu’s and then the bonus of dolphins from the drone. Thanks again for bringing us along. Did you get to swim with dolphins?
Beautiful spot. But unfortunately not dog friendly so it’s a no go for us. Good to see you guys back on your adventures. ❤
Cheers mate
Bec, where is your beautiful coffee mug from please? My Mum would love it!
As usual, looks like you guys had a blast!! Great up load thanks....Code Word, I made the Salad 😂😂
😂😂thanks mate
Can't go wrong what a sopt
Great camp
Hi from Hervey Bay
Mate you need to make sure there's always a pack of domino's in the cupboard.
Perfect fire lighters when stuck...
Love the chair Bec was sat in, large comfy round one, can I ask what brand is it?
Yeah for sure. It’s a navigator orbit chair
Gday olkid, did you make the fire pit and swing in plate or is it off the shelf? Love the show! Thanks Martin 👍
Hey mate I made it from 2 different items. The tripod is one and the grill from another. Works unreal
Hot tip!!
If you run out of fire lighters or don't wanna spend the $$$ - a packet of cheezels will do it too! Give it a try
Nice
Love your videos with your adventures. Just an idea....can you put up a map at the start to show us exactly where you are in OZ?
GREAT IDEA.. I'll start doing that again for ya's
❤excellent

There is that many twigs around haha
Love the little tiff over hand sanitiser, I'm sure all married couples can relate 😅
Any recommendations for lightweight camp chairs? Thanks 🙏
What’s the first place you stayed by the beach Justin? I just keep missing it 😅
Hervey Bay beach ranch
Tried Doritos workwell great firelighters

But we do love all the other places you recommend! Enjoy your travels! We love watching you guys 😁👍🏼
Sorry to hear about this mate. We have no affiliation with the campground so we can’t help out there. Sorry again, cheers for watching the vids👍
Bec what brand and style sunnies are you wearing? 😎 they are gorgeous! Love your videos guys ⛺️
Have you guys ditched the coffee machine from the van? Noticed a bit of extra bench space in your vid 😊
We have mate yeah, having a break from coffee for a bit
Where does Bec get her hats from? They are beautiful ❤
Hi guys just wanted to know when you’re going to post another video. And will u post a video of ur cruise ❤❤😊
Cottonballs coated with vaseline a good backup if you have no firelighters
Nice, I didn’t know Vaseline was flammable
@@TripInAVan Vaseline isn’t flammable google it to explain why it works with cotton balls
Bro any deep fried chips or those pizza shapes make great fire starters
I’ve used corn chips before… I’ll have to try shapes
Cool
Thanks guys!!
Cheers
Looks good but should probably check your fuel system
Why’s that?
One match + one sheet of newspaper = one fire. 😂
Haven’t bought a newspaper in years😂
Gotta watch the cattle. My right rear door is caved in because my bull decided to scratch its head on it.
😂😂the worst! Good story though
No fire lighters, Paper towel and dabb of olive oil, best fire lighters 🤙🏽
Oh really!!! I’ll try that
Great episode guys. Looks fantastic. Whats your take on the Webber being illegal to use on vans? Ive stopped taking ours as im worried id get in trouble but then still see lots of people using them.
