I'm always impressed by small scale knit and crochet! The clothing in the movie Coraline was made much the same way. I think the lady that made those pieces used pins, like straight pins. So impressive!
I liked the vlog version better! Just because it felt more like we were getting your thought process as worked through it and not a summary of what you’ve done, you know???
I love how they re-used a dress for Midge in the wedding set - very apropos for those times! ou did a great job (I like the metal zip better for some reason! I would love to see the second overdress too.
Another great dress, I love it! 💛 Would you ever consider making a 90’s barbie dress, like the 1994 Birthday Barbie dress? It’s very 90’s and a bit over the top, but gosh, I LOVED that dress as a kid! 😅
I really like the ensemble, though I agree with the eyelet fabric being too opaque. The tucks are an interresting method of construction ^^ btw the library link in the description is missing
I would love to see more replicas of Barbie clothes. You got it spot on although the eyelet material is not as sheer, but that’s ok. It came out adorable! And the hat is so chic, so easy to make when I saw it on Patreon. Happy sewing! ✂️👗✂️
As a child, I inherited my mother's vintage Skipper with the appropriate version of this dress. It was my all-time favorite dress, and more recently my Blythe has worn it. I adore this!
What an interesting pattern. I'm always very intrigued by garments that are shaped by tucks/gathers/pleats/darts as opposed to seams & multiple pieces. Seems more economical, fabric wise. A lot less waste if you're just working with squares/rectangles/triangles.
I do like this version of chronicling your sewing adventures but mostly enjoy seeing your finished pieces. Please don't ever stop making beautiful, feminine and colorful clothing!
Absolutely love you are making life-size Barbie clothes! Please do more. Also, since I'm new to your channel, where did you learn to drape and design patterns? You do amazing work.
Oh my goodness!!! I remember that outfit. I got my first Barbie in 1960! Yes I’m that old! 😉 how clever and fun to make wearable Barbie clothes. Love it.
I love hearing your thought process on how you figure out the designs. I don't sew, or design, or enjoy fashion much, but the crafter in me enjoys listening to another crafter work. Well done!
I love this series! I like the cotton overdress as an adaptation, but agree that a sheerer fabric would be truer in style. I look forward to seeing it! A Barbie themed wedding would be fab!
I liked both formats, but I feel like this version gives a much more clear understanding of the actual construction process which I really prefer. I love to see it start as an idea and see the process of making it come to life. Super cute dress, I love barbie!
I enjoyed the "vlog stye" and with the prom dress and felt it had a lot of useful information. My favorites are always the ones that have the most practical sewing info. Thanks!
oh that fabric is an eyelet cotton lawn. good luck finding that . i hope you can. i also wanted to know if that yellow fabric is a rayon crape? it would be era correct if so. the eyelet fabric on the doll looks like an embroidered cotton lawn voile or batiesse . it is beautiful .
I love this series! I have plans to re-create some of her outfits from the 90's for my own wardrobe. I like both versions of these videos, but the vlogs have a lot more of your journey and process in them.
I enjoyed both the first blue Barbie dress video and this one, but I think I enjoyed much more the video filming method of the first one. More off the cuff method and real time decision making. Can’t wait to see more!
I really like this project. Love the yellow sheat dress. It reminds me a strapless, boned dress I have: yellow base layer, yellow organza on top, cream tulle over that and cream lace as a last layer. Puffy, probably puffyer if I could find a petticoat. 50'-60' looking
Great video once again. Every time I watch I get inspired to get out my machine. If only I had a dedicated sewing room. I like the vlog style of video. It seems more organic in nature, less scripted. Keep up the amazing work.
I think you did a great job recreating the cut of the two dress pieces... But with the opacity of the white lace, the yellow bust REALLY stands out. I'm curious whether you'll re-use the white lace overdress, or repurpose parts of it? It really is beautiful.
I like both types of videos. I like the tutorial type if it’s something we can reproduce. If I were trying to follow along and build a dress or garment with you, I wouldn’t like the vlog... but I think you do a great job of deciding that for us. You are fun to watch, always making us smile and inspiring us at the same time.
you should consider sewing the darts down on the chest area it will look even more attractive. It's a small variation from the Barbie model and I think will only flatter the garment
I think I prefer the vlog-style videos, but honestly I really like them both and don’t think that you doing one or the other would really change how much I like watching your videos!
I think you did an excellent job. It's a beautiful and unusual design and looks lovely on you. For the lace overdress i had a thought you could buy lace curtains from a thrift store. They are really cheap and the lace tends to be in different patterns, and the curtains are always sheer. I'd love to see the dress using that kind of lace.
Love it think you are correct needs to be a little less opaque and just lighter. Perhaps tulle with a narrow lace sewn on top if you cant find anything that is banded like this. Love the series and love your determination.
My mother taught me how to sew when I was younger. (She was professional machinists before I was born) (And my grandma used to make and sell clothes from her home) although I was always interested in it, I didn’t really do it much and completely forgot about it. Your videos are one of the things that inspired me to start sewing again and I’ve been really enjoying it ! My sewing machine is the one I had from being younger and my mother only brought me an inexpensive one for practice. It’s not very reliable and can be frustrating but it makes me even more happy when a project comes together decently ! My mum has industrial sewing machines and a serger in our craft room, they were my grandmas !!! They’re singers and they’re still in amazing condition, unfortunately we haven’t been able to find any needles for the machine so I can’t use it 😭😭😭😭 I was very bored during the college break and it was a lovely way to spend my time ! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
My dear young lady, we have all invented the “shove it under the presser foot while you sew” method of gathering at some point in our sewing lives, LOL.
I adore how you throw yourself into this, I'm so hesitant I don't do anything, you're more - let's see what will happen if I do it this way or that way - you have a spirit of adventure I love to watch. Thank you! I will also be interested to see the dress with a new overlay. I thought the bosom area was a little bit pointed, but that was the fashion back then, yes? Pointy brassieres means pointy tops.
I loved your construction of the dress and overlay.I love that the background music is so low you forget it's there and can hear what you are saying. Would curtain netting be close to nylon for the overlay?
I adore this series so much!! Vintage Barbie and Vintage fashion are my favourite things :3 I do prefer the chatty vlog style (although I know it's probably more of a hassle to do) as I like the more personable approach and the insight and explanation of the creative process we get. If you're after a genuine vintage Midge you can get one in pretty good condition for $25- she's not exactly a favourite among collectors. That dress looks mint, and I'm amazed that you found the bouquet and hat too- the dress and overdress are pretty common, but accessories are a different story- I'd imagine they cost you more than the doll itself would! A small note on fit- the straps on the original overdress are not worn scrunched and narrow, framing the breasts, but drape over them, creating a softer and less angular impression. This is shown on the thumbnail Barbie's right side- so if you're retrying the overdress and aren't in love with the ultra pointy boob, draping a lighter fabric wider would create a more original effect.
I've been loving this series. I've always enjoyed making recreations and replicas myself so I really enjoy seeing your process of recreating these dresses. I think I prefer the vlog style videos, I like to see the problem solving and such.
It's so fun to see Barbie dresses come to life like this. And as a seamstress myself, I enjoy watching the construction process. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make next!
I enjoy this series a lot. One of my favorite skirts is made from that same yellow floral fabric. I do prefer the Homecoming vlog format - that video is how I found your channel!
nice that's midge, i love this doll so much.I have the newer one from life in the dreamhouse which i built a Kenworth semi truck and she drives it in my videos.very nice dress great work
Loved this video, including the pattern-making and details of construction. You explain clearly the steps wh8ch makes it easy to understand the process. Great job!!!
i agree with out on the overdress but i do love that eyelet pattern, as it would double as a insert lace fabric. it is cool looking. one thing you did reproduce an early 1960's dress!! another great job. if you do redo the overdress, please show it on here . i an a patron or you but i guess i haven't just been to lazy to get my forgotten password. dang google chrome didn't store it properly.
I've watched so many of your vids n I'm always amazed at how bloody clever you are! You def have a special talent n ur vids are really enjoyable to watch :)
My mom knitted a sweater on toothpicks for my sister's Barbie. Thanks for the memories! 😁🤗🥰
Oh wow, your mom is the MVP!
I am soooooo impressed.
I'm always impressed by small scale knit and crochet! The clothing in the movie Coraline was made much the same way. I think the lady that made those pieces used pins, like straight pins. So impressive!
That is amazing!
Haha I used to knit with toothpicks and leave it partially done so it’d look like my dolls were knitting.
you should try challenging yourself by doing this backwards: make one of your outfits barbie size
Oh man I can feel the struggle already
I have done this with Garage Sales Adult Size Clothes.....worked. I have the videos....Dress My Size Dolls for $1 or less.
I liked the vlog version better! Just because it felt more like we were getting your thought process as worked through it and not a summary of what you’ve done, you know???
Faithjoy2 100% agree
Absolutely!
Me too, the vlog version is more interesting for me, because it seems more real you know
I must say I agree as well
Agree!
I love how they re-used a dress for Midge in the wedding set - very apropos for those times! ou did a great job (I like the metal zip better for some reason! I would love to see the second overdress too.
Personally I like the vlog version better but the dress is lovely even if the eyelet lace is to opaque compared to the doll

the bunny iron board cover is so precious omg
As a child, I inherited my mother's vintage Skipper with the appropriate version of this dress. It was my all-time favorite dress, and more recently my Blythe has worn it. I adore this!
I dont know if it is workable but the overdress in an embroidered tulle or organza would give you the sheerness you're looking for
I do like both video types. But I missed getting a look at your inner monologue during this video
I like both styles of video :) the making of style is more polished, but the vlog style is more organic. Both are good 😊
I agree
What an interesting pattern. I'm always very intrigued by garments that are shaped by tucks/gathers/pleats/darts as opposed to seams & multiple pieces. Seems more economical, fabric wise. A lot less waste if you're just working with squares/rectangles/triangles.

I would prefer to see them as vlog style videos in the future.
Nice job, and I agree with your critique. Looking forward to seeing the remake of the outer dress.
You are so talented! I think I prefer the vlog style video, mainly because I like hearing your thoughts as you work! The hat turned out SUPER cute!
I enjoy the process videos, but the vlogs and personality are what keep bringing me back :)
You are so talented and make everything look so easy. Recreating Barbie dresses is a cute idea.😊
I enjoyed the "vlog stye" and with the prom dress and felt it had a lot of useful information. My favorites are always the ones that have the most practical sewing info. Thanks!

Barbie is not my beauty and fashion and lifestyle icon. Angela on the other hand...
Lovely work as always!😊 and my preference is for the vlog style you used in the homecoming barbie video
Great video once again. Every time I watch I get inspired to get out my machine. If only I had a dedicated sewing room. I like the vlog style of video. It seems more organic in nature, less scripted. Keep up the amazing work.

I have the original orange blossom dress, over and under! Love these videos!
I particularly love this dress, I think I love the overdress as it is but they are both good! Love your videos so much x
i quite like the vlog type video, it felt very personal and fun!
Honestly Angela is a sewing talent goddess
I like both types of videos. I like the tutorial type if it’s something we can reproduce. I think you mean "deviation", not "veneration"?
@@pneumarian YES I DID! sometimes spell check will insert a word if a letter is reverse I need to prof read more closely LOL! and learn how to spell
@@pneumarian veriation LOL! but deviation works just as well sometimes spell check is not my friend
@@nancyvolker3342 DYAC!
@@pneumarian they didn't write veneration, they wrote variation which is a synonyme of deviation..
I love these Barbie inspired dresses. You are so inspiring! Thank you!
I really appreciate your videos thank you for sharing them.
I like watching your work step by step but I do like hearing how you feel about it too.
I think I prefer the vlog-style videos, but honestly I really like them both and don’t think that you doing one or the other would really change how much I like watching your videos!
I think I prefer the vlog style videos, I like hearing you snark just about anything and it always makes me giggle
I like both video types because either way, you're clear about what you're doing.
So cute! I love watching you drape, it makes me want to get a dress form and start making things!!
Definitely prefer the vlog style video. Love this dress and the series
Thank you for your efforts.
I appreciate you and your talents
Another beautiful outfit you have produced Angela. I can't wait to see the next one.
I love these videos in which you recreat Barbie dresses! Thanks for your creative content.
I love the idea of life size Barbie dresses please keep the videos coming!
The overlay on the Barbie dress reminds me of a set of lace curtains we used to have. Love your recreation.
Maybe you could find sheer/lace curtains to use to make the overskirt. Some of them might have the kind of detail you are looking for. Gloria🐂
First off such a cute dress!
Second I think the vlog style works best for this kind of video :)
Yes!!!! I would love a remake!
Angela, I love it...however you are correct in the choice of the eyelet fabric..maybe a patterned organza would be suitable.?
I love this series based on Barbie's outfits. You are incredibly talented. Despite the overlay being somewhat opaque, the dress is gorgeous!
Brings back fond memories of childhood and drafting and sewing clothing for my Barbie family.
Great job. I think you did a wonderful job recreating the dress.
The dress you made is really cute and the project is fun
I adore this dress. Beautiful work!
I like the vlog for the thought process that goes on.
I love your gathering method and I'm definatley going to try it. I love your barbie series!
Love it think you are correct needs to be a little less opaque and just lighter. Perhaps tulle with a narrow lace sewn on top if you cant find anything that is banded like this. Love the series and love your determination.
The final result looks almost like my mum's wedding gown from 1961 that she sewn herself :-) love it !
My mother taught me how to sew when I was younger. (She was professional machinists before I was born)
(And my grandma used to make and sell clothes from her home)
although I was always interested in it, I didn’t really do it much and completely forgot about it.

I agree with your assessment. The only change would be using nylon lace. Otherwise, spot on. Great job.
I love your Florence collection!!!!
This is easily one of my favourite makeup looks on you, too! Loving this series :)
As a fellow lace lover, I grieve along side you at the limited variety of laces that are produced today. Great job on this dress all the same!
My dear young lady, we have all invented the “shove it under the presser foot while you sew” method of gathering at some point in our sewing lives, LOL.
Really loved this. I like this series a lot. I think it’s really fun
I like the seeing the sewing process in detail but also love the vlog style you do. I enjoy long videos from your channel :)
I’m adoring this barbie series 😍
I like vlog style one. It's fun to see your thought process

nice that's midge, i love this doll so much.I have the newer one from life in the dreamhouse which i built a Kenworth semi truck and she drives it in my videos.very nice dress great work
I love the material you chose for this project very smart
I liked this version. But a combination of both would be just as great.
I really enjoy the Barbie series and would love more videos in it! 😊
The dress is beautiful!! And your talent is incredible!!!!
i love the dress and i am loving the barbie dress series im supper excited to see wat you do next!!!
I love the style of the video, and look forward to seeing more Barbie dresses.
I love the way it turned out! it's so pretty!

I really like how the white over bodice and sleeves look against the orange/yellow bodice.
Oh my goodness I died when you described your gathering method!! 😂
