- Nandi hills situated at about 60 KMs from Bangalore is a perfect weekend drive to enjoy a beautiful Sunrise.
Timing: 6AM - 6 PM
In this video we have explored multiple view points:
1. Sunrise View point
2. Yoganandeeshwara temple
3. Ganesha and Hanuman temple
4. Nehru Nilay
5. Park
6. Tree house
7. Tipu drop
Checkout the video to know the latest fare and entry restriction. The drive upto the Nandi hill top is very beautiful. You can see lot of rocks and serene green cover all through the drive. From the parking to the view point you will have to be taking a bus or walk about 2 KMS. Overall it is a very nice, serene and relaxing picnic spot for families to enjoy a nice weekend. You can also view sunset in the evening from the Nandi hill top. There is also KSTDC lodge - Mayura Pine top available for people who want to stay.

This is the best trvel vlog out of 1000s of vlogs I checked.... i am planning to go on non weekend days and got to know almost everything except the sunrise timings and a good time to start from home in bangalore.... so that we don't miss the sunrise.

Sun rise is by 5:51 AM as per Google for this week..
as per different season sunrise timing keeps varying.. they only open the gate by 6 AM in the morning though..
If you are planning to go by car then 95% you will miss sunrise.. if you are going by 2 wheeler you might have some chance, as two wheeler gets a bit of head start..
Here is my recommendation:
1. Stay at Mayura Pine Top which is at the top of Nandi Hills so that u can enjoy the sunrise next morning
2. Or go for sunset it’s less crowded and beautiful as well..
But do check the weather forecast on Google before you start.. in monsoon yes it does rain..

1. If you want to see sunrise be there by 5:30.. if not you can go at any time between 6 AM to 6 PM
2. It will get hot after 9 AM in summer.. there are park and there is even a KSTDC hotel (Mayura Pine top) at the top where you can stay..
3. There are two-three simple restaurants where you will get idli dosa etc and also small fruit and snack vendors around
4. Yes you are allowed to stay there is no time restrictions.. until sunset or 6 PM it’s allowed..

Is there a bus service at Nandi hills to take to sunset point in case an elderly is visiting?
Hi Mayur, from the parking you will have to climb some 20 steps and then there is a bus till the view point..
or another way is if you have booking at Mayura Pine top hotel they allow you to drive till the top directly..
Will there be bus facilities to railway stations? From nandi hills? If I want trek is it the same path?
Trekking path is different than drive path.. there are buses from Nandi Hills base town.. I am not sure on the frequency and bus number though..

No prior booking is needed.. all the tickets are provided at Nandi Hills..
Whats the closing time in week days ? I mean today I plan to go there before going I want to ensure that whats the closing time
It closes by 6 PM.. but reach the base of the hill at least earlier than 5 or 5:30 PM..

You can directly get ticket there.. weekends will be crowded so go by 5 or 5:15 itself.. if you go on a weekday it’s very easy and less crowded..

We left by 4:50 AM and reached around 5:45 AM.. I would recommend go as early as possible if you are planning on a weekend there will be heavy rush..

Hi no advance booking is needed.. all the tickets are provided at Nandi Hills.. they allow only 1000 bikes to go uphill at a time, so go early to enjoy sunrise 😊

Yes I have seen lots of solo travelers drive down to Nandi Hills be it on bike, car or cycle..
Sunday is it open bcz recent time police was not allow us to go inside?
Hi Shruthi, yes it is open on Sunday.. We went on a Sunday only.. they allow only 300 cars and 1000 bikes to go to the top at a time.. So reach there as early as possible like 5:00 or 5:15 itself.. so when they open the gate by 6 you will definitely be able to go to the top..
Or if you go late you might end up waiting for a long time..

Entry at base for car - 150 Rs
Entry to Nandi Hills at the top - 20 Rs per person
Bus fare from the parking lot to sunrise view point - 25 Rs per person..
