I'm a 71 year old dude and I discovered these guys by accident on Spotify. They make me feel like an 18 year old in love again. They are great on a rainy night here in Seattle with a fire burning and a glass of merlot.

Duncan Herder I feel like people go to the 80s sound when they're running out of ideas... Not sure I like the 80s sound on them. That's not to say I don't like that sound. I just think they should stick to the style they had.
Puppy Cat with the Fuzzy Pants Have you not listened to twelvefour? That entire album is a lot more like this. It's not like this is a new sound for them.
Brian, I did realize that right after I commented... I just feel like this album still has a slightly different sound, I guess.
After the release of Twelvefour, I thought like you do now, I got hooked by the folksy sound of Woodland and to me that was the band identity and why I liked them, so what with this 80's synth vibe now?
Each time I listened to Twelvefour again and again I just fell harder for it, and today I don't know but maybe Twelvefour is the album I love the most by The Paper Kites. Now this song gives a vibe of twelvefour and I'm totally okay with it.
These folks are just great and I appreciate their work.
I've been listening to different kinds of genre in my life. But to be honest, I can stay here forever listening to this band.

I fucking love this band.
I saw them 2 winters ago at Cafe Dekcuf in Ottawa, Ontario, and it was magical. They played all my favourite songs, songs I hadn't heard, I was right up close to the stage.
It was intimate, and the performance was incredible. At one point they asked the managers if they could turn out all the lights and play a couple songs unplugged.
I had never had an experience like that before. By far my favourite live performance, ever. After the show, they immediately came out to the crowd and met fans. No line up, they went straight into the crowd. I got a picture but I was too excited and ended up looking goofy. All super nice people.
If you get a chance to see this band: do it. You will not regret it.
Can't wait to see you guys in Toronto.

i connected to this song from the first listen. i tried to commit suicide in 2017, it hits close to home. i love it, it helps me remind me of "the escape of the hurt i was feeling" i am very health today and i am proud of how far i have come.

I love the stories that are happening in this image, mostly the background. Especially the wet pavement on the street where the silhouetted stranger (I know too well) walks away. I feel like I'm the reflection of light beneath his feet; undoubtedly more important to him than he knows; and oh, how I love the sound of his feet; the wet footsteps upon concrete, and how they seem to echo more lucidly at night. I could listen to his footsteps forever, so long as we shared the same light.
